I just want to be close to him. Have him inside me. Feel that he’s mine after I came so close to having him taken from me.
Even though he says he would have come back, and I believe him, seeing him disappear after his fight with Josh scarred my heart.
But oh God, no one can make me feel like this, I think as Lorien takes another long lick up me, lingering and swirling around my clit. So intense, so amazing, all I can do is hold my hair or the sheets or whatever I can find as my hips buck up against his mouth.
He’s just so damn good at this, and the pleasure in his eyes at seeing my pleasure turns me on so much.
This is how sex, how love, was always supposed to be. Connected. Hotter because we know and love each other. An expression of that care and love.
And Lorien loves me completely. I can feel it in the way his hand smoothes over my thigh, settling me, while his other hand traps my leg against his shoulder. He’s playing me like a violin, drawing every muscle in me tight with anticipation, making me writhe as shocks of pleasure move through.
“Lorien.” I gasp as he sucks down on my clit again. “More.”
“I’ll never stop,” he says, flicking his tongue out. “Never ever for the rest of our lives.” He kisses me again, making me yelp from the sheer intensity of it. How is he so damn good with his tongue? I’m melting, so wet it’s embarrassing.
“Why are you blushing, queen?” Lorien asks, raising his head slightly. Just the sight of his handsome face right above my sex is almost enough to make me come. “You should never be embarrassed about feeling good with me.”
I nod. “It’s just too good.”
He grins, a more wicked look than I’ve seen on him before, and licks up my slit a little more slowly. “We should draw it out, then.”
“Oh no you don’t,” I say, gasping as he plays at my entrance. “Not another ‘make Tess pass out from oral pleasure,’ though that’s amazing. I want you. Inside me. I want to mate.”
It’s a primal, essential feeling. Like I’ll die if I don’t get what I want.
Lorien just smiles again, but his eyes grow even more heated, glowing like a nebula. “As you wish.”
Then he kisses down on me intensely between my legs with so much passion I can’t hold back anymore, and orgasm rips through me, shaking me from head to toe, my whole body rippling with pleasure.
All the while, he licks me through it, and I let out a scream of pure joy at how good it feels.
“Dammit, Lorien,” I say, huffing as he releases my legs and I lean back, pushing myself up on my elbows. My body is so alive, so aware of him. “You always make it feel so damn strong.”
His hand moves over my hip, my stomach, up to cover my breast, right over my heart. “It’s our connection. Our love for each other. Our soul bond as dream mates.”
I push myself up a little more. “Okay, tell me what all of that means. Now that we’re going to be together, I need to get it all straight.”
“All fae have the potential to make a soul bond. The most important bond they can make with the one they want to mate with. But only dream fae have dream mates. Mates we see in a dream that we go in search of.”
“But they’re usually in the fae realm, right?”
He nods. “But I guess my world will have to adjust now that we know dream mates can be found in the human world.”
“It’s so crazy,” I say, putting my palm to his soft cheek.
God, he’s beautiful.
“I’m yours,” he says. “And you’re mine. My dream mate and my soul bond. You get it now?”
“I do.” At least well enough. I get that, in my heart, maybe he has always been the one for me. I couldn’t have faced any of this for anyone but him. “Show me your real face,” I say. “No illusions.”
Lorien’s face goes red. “Are you sure? I’m quite scarred from battle.”
“From trying to find me,” I say, my heart beating hard. “From trying to keep my kingdom safe.”
He nods. “I did patrol and defend my kingdom as king, but my heart was always searching for you, always longing. No matter how many years went by, I knew you were my dream mate. The only one for me.”
I reach up, wrapping my arms around him. “I’m sorry I made it so difficult.”
He smiles at me, and when I release him from the hug, I realize his illusions are gone.
He looks slightly older, slightly more stressed. More real.
A few lines crinkle the sides of his eyes. Cute dimples.
Still so gorgeous I can’t think straight, but he no longer looks like a walking filter.
I like him better like this. The faint scars on his body just prove who he is. I take him for everything he is and has been, just as he accepted me.
And I’m sure there will still be progress and disagreements, but it’ll be worth it.
One thing Lorien has proved to me is that love is always worth the fight.
I kiss him, hearing his shocked intake of breath as my lips meet his. My tongue moves in to play as I grab him by the shoulders, rolling him beneath me.
He stares up in shock, gorgeous eyes wide, huge body flexed as I straddle him, pushing his towel away to examine his hard, thick length.
His eyes meet mine, blinking, and I reach down, taking his member in my hand, stroking lightly. It’s so thick, so long, so perfect.
I love the way his eyes roll back and his head dips slightly, the way he tries to compose himself and fails as my thumb strokes over his leaking slit.
He’s so excited just from licking me, and I can taste my own pleasure on my lips after kissing him.
I lean down and kiss his cock gently, licking over his head, tasting him as he arches back, groaning in pleasure.
“My queen, I… Please, take me.” His eyes are pleading. “You want me inside you. If you do that—”
I smile, moving to position myself over him. Then I slide down slowly, and Lorien holds still, watching me with loving concern to make sure I’m not hurting myself.
His gentleness has always been the most difficult thing to take. But I love him so much for it, for showing me a man can care about more than himself.
I moan as I seat him inside me, feeling him stretch me in that familiar, delicious way. As I lower myself fully so that my thighs and butt are pressed to his hard, hot abdomen, I let out another moan of pure joy.
“You feel so good, Lorien.”
His expression is tight, his eyes alight with fire. “Tess, you’re everything I could want. Everything I have ever dreamed.”
I put a finger to his lips, gently caressing them as I lift up then come down, closing my eyes at the pure pleasure this motion evokes in me. I’m so wet that I glide easily, and it’s such a tight fit that my clit moves against his hardness, stoking more pleasure inside.
My body is taut as I continue to move. Lorien’s hands come to my thighs gently, and I feel his hips thrusting up to meet me as I move up and down.
It feels so good. I put my hands in my hair and just ride him, feeling every spark in my body ready to ignite into a raging fire. “Lorien. Lorien.”
He’s all I want. He’s so beautiful. Lorien with a whip. Lorien with an ice cream cone. Lorien standing next to an abandoned castle.
Lorien who won’t ever be alone anymore.
“All mine,” we say in unison, then look at each other in surprise.
“I don’t care if we’re here or in your world,” Lorien says, thrusting against me and stoking the raging fire. His huge, strong hands anchor me, his strong hips carry me, and his eyes sear into my heart. “We can stay there until the world burns, then come to rule here. We can fight together or simply enjoy our lives. But either way, you’re all mine now. Until the stars fall, we will never be apart.”
I nod, feeling overwhelmed with emotion, on the verge of an explosive orgasm, and unfamiliar with the feeling of this much love soaring through my heart.
“I love you, Lorien.” It’s hard to breathe now. My body is drawn tigh
t like a bowstring. One more bit of pleasure and I’ll explode.
“I’ve always loved you, Tess,” he says, reaching up to me, cupping my face gently. “You’ve always been my sweetest dream.”
My eyes meet his as I come, pleasure rushing through me so strong it’s almost painful. I ride it out, gasping his name, bucking against him, and a second later, I feel him release, bursting with warm surges inside me that only send me flying higher in this sky of pure heat.
Nothing should ever feel this good. No being could ever deserve this.
When my body is done spasming, utterly flooded with pleasure, I fall against him, pressing our chests together with him still inside me.
I don’t want to ever let go of him, I think with my hands clutching his shoulders and chest.
He strokes my hair, breathing heavily. “Tess, that was amazing.” He turns my face and kisses me, and though it washes me with heat, it also burns me even more with pleasant love. “I’ll love you forever, my darling.”
I kiss him back, then flop down against him, my body too heavy to move, too relaxed and too pleasured. “Fine by me,” I say softly.
With Lorien, even forever could never be enough.
Epilogue
Lorien
“So this is my unicorn?” Tess asks as we approach the white animal grazing gracefully in one of my kingdom’s pastures.
The creature raises its head, and its rainbow eyes sparkle in the sun. The white gleam of its hide shimmers, and its tail and mane shift in rainbow shades.
It knickers and canters over to us, sticking its head over the fence as Tess takes a nervous step back.
“It’s bigger than I remember,” she says, looking gorgeous in a green robe I made for her that matches her eyes.
The unicorn lowers its head, and Tess gasps, then throws her arms around it, sinking her face into its soft mane.
She pulls back, smiling up at it. “It’s really you, isn’t it? I’m so sorry I lost you. I’m so glad you’re okay.”
The unicorn whinnies and tosses its head, then pushes its nose back into Tess’s arms. And she holds it gently.
“So you were here all along,” she says. “You were real. Everyone thought I only dreamed you.”
I feel slightly choked up just seeing them reunited, and when Tess looks at me, her eyes are welling with tears.
“Thank you, Lorien. Thank you so much.”
“You want to ride her?” I say, gladder than ever that I fought that scarlath to save at least one thing from Tess’s childhood.
One thing she thought was lost.
Her eyes widen. “I can? Really?”
I nod. “Of course. She’s yours. What’s her name?”
“Back then, I named her Lily after a white flower on Earth.”
“Lily, then,” I say, and the unicorn looks at me.
“Where’s her horn, though?” Tess asks, climbing over the gate to the pasture before I can open it for her.
“It should show up when you get on,” I say. “She wouldn’t have it out when you are cuddling her. That’s dangerous.”
Tess laughs. “Nothing is ever how I expect it in this world.” Her eyes fall on me. “Or with you.”
I just smile at her. “Given what you’ve come to expect, that’s a good thing. And I intend to keep surprising you with good things as well.”
Tess smiles back at me, but her attention is on her unicorn as the creature takes a knee for Tess to get on.
Tess takes a deep breath and swings a leg over, and the unicorn stands with her on top.
Tess grins, looking regal, and then holds on to her unicorn’s hair.
Sure enough, a horn shows up immediately, gleaming pearlescent white as if it had been there the whole time.
“Lily,” Tess says, rubbing the unicorn’s neck softly. “Let’s run.”
And then they take off together, moving as one, and my heart tightens, thinking of the young girl Tess was. The one in touch with her unicorn.
Seeing them back together heals something in my soul. Shows me that all of my work, all of my waiting was worth it.
My soul bond is truly happy now.
But I only have a few moments to watch her before chaos breaks out.
I hear the whoosh of a giant portal and look up to see Jerrek and Reve fall out of it, landing hard in a pile on the ground.
They push themselves up, still in human clothes, and look around wildly, only calming when their eyes land on me.
“Lorien!” Reve says, but I hold up a finger to shush him, gesturing to Tess who is still galloping around the enclosure.
“Her unicorn,” Jerrek says, walking up beside me. “So beautiful.”
“My mate’s is still in her dream realm,” Reve says. “I never thought to bring it here.”
“It’s safer,” I say. Though, I don’t intend to tell them anything about Tess’s dream world.
“Every queen needs a unicorn,” Jerrek says wistfully, watching Tess ride. Then he turns to me. “Now where in the name of the Great Connector did you go?”
I wince, hearing a term that doesn’t mean that much to me anymore.
Not that fate didn’t help me find my soul bond, but just that, in the end, it’s our own hard work and willingness to sacrifice that leads us to having love.
Not just seeing someone’s face in your dream.
“A lot has happened,” I say. “It’s a very long story.”
“We suddenly couldn’t feel your energy,” Reve says, still slightly panting. “We looked all over our dream camp and Tess’s living quarters. Then we talked to that Josh guy—”
“Says he’s Rainbow,” Jerrek says. “Do you think it’s true?”
Reve shakes his head. “Impossible. He can’t be.”
I just shrug. “I don’t really care. He helped me. That’s all that matters as far as I’m concerned. The guy just wants to be left alone.”
“Is it true you were auctioned?” Reve asks.
“He told you about that?”
Jerrek nods. “He said that’s why you were sent home.” His maroon eyes fill with pain. “We were so worried about you. I’m sorry we didn’t come sooner.”
I grin. “It was more fun to have Tess rescue me anyway. You should have seen her with her whip.”
Reve’s eyes widen. “So queens born on Earth still have them? That’s awesome.”
I nod. “Hers is a beastly thing.”
Jerrek laughs. “Of course. Then again, she has always been brave. All of our mates are.”
Reve folds his arms. “They all get in trouble in some ways, trying to help others. We could learn a lot from them by watching them in their world.”
“I intend to stay there with Tess while I help with your mate pursuits,” I say instantly. “How are your mates doing?”
Reve rubs the back of his neck. “I don’t know right now. Generally safe, but I want to get back to her.”
“Me too,” Jerrek says. “I don’t like being away from her side.” He puts an arm around me. “But with our bond, we had to make sure you were all right too. So we made sure to leave protection spells with our mates while we came here.”
I nod. “Good. Though, our mates are strong, having lived in the human realm. I don’t think we have anything to worry about.”
Tess is still riding, beautiful hair flying back, as her laughter carries to me on the wind.
As Jerrek and Reve begin to tell me about their mates and what they plan next, I listen happily, watching the love of my life feel pure joy.
I was born to be with her. Born to make her happy. And no matter where we are, that’s exactly what I’ll do.
