I reach between our scissored legs and cup his balls. He hisses when I tug on them, and his shattering rhythm tells me he’s losing his carefully guarded discipline. Harder and harder he thrusts and his balls tighten in my hand. I love when he unravels at my touch. My walls clamp around his thickening length, but I’m dripping wet and he continues to slide in and out with ease.
“Iz, look at me when you come.”
My face is buried in his neck, sucking on his erratic pulse, but I pull away to stare into his eyes. His hands wander across my back to my ass, and we press harder against each other for the final thrusts.
“Come, Izzy.” The command in his voice overwhelms my senses, and I quiver as the vibration hits my ears.
I attempt to keep my eyes on him, but the force is too much and they close automatically when my body gives way to the orgasm. Owen slams into me a couple more times, then he, too, shudders with his release. Hearts pounding, we reach for each other, groping and kissing as we come off our high.
Barely breathing at a normal pace, he tells me, “I have one more thing for you.”
“Something other than orgasms and etching a part of us into your body?”
He hums a yes into my neck, setting off a blazing trail of goosebumps down my side. Owen reaches to the drawer in the nightstand and hands me a deep blue velvet box. With a flick of his thumb, he tips the lid open to reveal a modest diamond solitaire ring. Its origin is clear and I’m already crying.
“Marry me, Izzy,” he whispers into my ear.
The simple way Owen states his desire rather than asks for my eternal love is how it should be done. I wouldn’t expect anything more or less of him and will never ask him to be anything other than who he is.
There are so many things that make a house a home: a smell, a memory, an object. For me, Owen is home. It took me some time to recognise that deep roots securing a person to one place aren’t what matter. Roots come in all forms. When we first met, Owen’s roots were shallow and wide. They were searching even in their stability. Now his are deepening and mine are broadening and together, we are creating a whole new system that is perfect for us.
I love the Princess Project despite some steps it took to get us here. If for some reason we don’t have this home for the rest of our lives, we’ll have our stories and our tattoos, and most importantly, we’ll have each other.
