other dive boats idled past, headed for the docks. The crews laughed, asking what Gage was doing, what he was holding, and why.

  And finally, a lone figure on the beach. Waving. Calling to him. Blonde curls and Austrian accent. Demanding Gage come back. Demanding he stop being so schtupid.

  About the Author

  Tim W. Jackson was born in Atlanta, started kindergarten in Indonesia and graduated high school in Egypt.

  After earning a journalism degree at the University of Florida, Tim worked as a press photographer for nearly 10 years. He returned to academia long enough to earn a master's degree at Southern Methodist University's graduate writing program.

  When not writing, Tim works as a scuba instructor and boat captain in the Caribbean. His debut novel, Mangrove Underground, was a USA Book News Best Book Award finalist for literary fiction. His forthcoming second novel, Blacktip Island, is set in the same tropical locale as his Tales From Blacktip Island.
