Chapter Five
I woke up in Lyon’s bed alone and naked. My cock was wide-awake even before me. It was nice waking up on clean sheets without worrying about who’d be standing over me. With Lyon around, I felt safe, comfortable...horny. “How do you call a bear?” I yelled out.
“By his name,” Lyon answered back. He walked through the bedroom door blissfully naked. He stood there stroking his wide dick with a smile on his handsome face.
Wait a minute. I blinked a few times. I could see him clearly. I rubbed at my eyes and looked again. “Lyon.”
“What’s wrong?” He dropped his hand from his dick and strode to me in three long, determined steps.
“I can see you.”
He lifted a dark brow and sat on the end of the bed.
“It’s dark in the room. You turned the lights off and...and I can see you.”
His face relaxed. “Yeah? Better looking, huh?” He grinned.
“What the fuck is going on?”
“Sometimes finding a mate can heal a few of their ailments.” He grabbed my hand and placed it on his erection.
“Your mate.”
“Yup. It means you’re mine forever. Can’t fight it. It’s fate. Destiny. All that.” He winked at me then directed my hand up and down his dick.
My eyes were...I opened and closed my mouth without saying a word.
“Keep that up and I’m going to fill that pretty mouth of yours.”
“You promise,” I said and then shook my head. “Lyon, I can see.” This was a fucking miracle, a gift, a blessing. I squeezed his dick. “You did this.” I pressed my lips to Lyon’s. The kiss had way more emotion than pure sexual excitement. “You fuck me like a sex-starved demon, protect me from the crazies, and help heal my eyesight.” It was unbelievable.
“I know you love me.” He grinned.
“Actually...I do.” I did. Finding Lyon had been the best thing in my entire life. He made me feel complete again. Hopeful.
“I know.” He pushed the sheet away and gripped my shaft tight. “I love you too.”
I smiled. Those words just made me feel amazing. I was smiling wide, like a fool. Hey, that was love.
“Lie back.”
Oh, fuck. His voice was doing the deep, rumbly tone again. I lay back and spread my legs slightly as he palmed my balls. Then there was the quiet ringing of the phone. I nearly kicked the hovering table that held it.
Lyon pinched my thigh. “Answer.” The ringing stopped. “Lyon here.” He grabbed my cock again, stroking, pulling, and making my hips lift.
“It’s done.” A woman’s voice came from the hands free communication device on the wall.
“Thank you.”
“You’re welcome.”
“End call.” He climbed onto the bed and straddled me.
“What’s done?”
“This is mainly a shifter colony, Quinn, and we protect each other. Sean is taken care of.”
The way he said it made me swallow hard as he sat there watching me. “They. Did you...did they...”
“He won’t hurt you ever again, Quinn. I promise you. I guarantee you.”
I felt this weight lift off my chest that I didn’t even know was there. My problems were suddenly gone. Just like that, I didn’t have to check under my bed for Sean. Just like that, my sight was returning. Just like that, I had fallen hopelessly in love.
“You all right?” He grabbed my chin.
I nodded. “I think I will be.” He pressed his lips to mine, our hard dicks thrusting together. Lyon nipped on my bottom lip and then pulled away.
“I told you. You’re stuck with me. Safe with me.”
The word made me smile. “My Lyon...or technically my bear. Oh, bear lion.”
He rolled his eyes but grinned. “Ready for me, my mate?”
“Always.”
