Before the crowd went up in applause, a lone tear slipped down my eyes as I walked over to my mother’s body. Topez leaned down, picking her up from the ground as we walked out of the stadium hand in hand. I may have been the forbidden princess, but I was now the Queen of Ruella.
A few months later…
Staring out of my home window, it still shocked me that I was now a queen. Who would have thought that I had a time in my life where I just existed and didn’t live? I still hadn’t gotten used to the fact that my mother was truly gone. Although, a few days after her burial, she visited me in my dreams with my grandparents to show me that she was okay while also letting me know I needed to stop stressing out her grandchild. Yes, I was pregnant. I guess that night before the battle, sex resulted in a beautiful little girl. She wasn’t even born yet but was a complete hell-raiser.
Arms wrapped around my waist as Topez slipped his head into the nook of my shoulder.
“What are you thinking about, baby?” he asked.
“How happy I am to have you. Although you did bring a little drama in my life, I couldn’t have picked anyone else if I tried.” I laughed, leaning my head back to allow him to place a kiss against my lips.
Slapping my ass, he placed another kiss against my neck. “You’re damn right about that. I pity the man that tries to get what’s mine. You’re my forbidden queen.”
