Secondly, my special thanks go to the team at the Heritage Centre at BA Systems at Brough for all their invaluable information on the Buccaneer road transits from the factory to the test airfield during the service life of this formidable aircraft.

As well as several useful internet sites, videos, eyewitness accounts, and even the recorded minutes of the Lancaster House Agreement, there is nothing like some specialist non-fiction to help an author research the subject matter for his novel. The book I chose for my main source, was The Rhodesian War by Paul Moorcraft And Peter McLaughlin, a book which I found to be my guide throughout.

Another excellent book I found I couldn’t put down, was Charlotte Lamb’s House of Stone. She is such a prolific writer and experiencing the thoughts and feelings of the main characters from both sides, as their country goes through the period of revolutionary transition, was a complete revelation.

Finally, during writing this novel, Tropical Cyclone Idai had occurred. and was one of the worst tropical cyclones on record to occur in Africa. It caused catastrophic damage in Mozambique, Zimbabwe, and Malawi, some of those countries which have been covered in this work of fiction.

The devastation of this storm, left more than 1,300 people dead, homes and livelihoods destroyed with many more people still missing. My heart goes out to those who are still suffering great loss and anguish from this terrible disaster.
