Palindrome nodded even as her feet tried to carry her forward.
She’d never make it in time.
Kiuno spun on her heel as the numbers continued to tick down.

Kiuno took a final look at Elite. He called for her, running, begging, but she didn’t have a choice. Once again, they’d be parted despite their promise to never separate again.

Kiuno stepped through the swirling vortex and all colors twisted to gray as the whirlwind yanked her body back to where everything started.
K.J. was strong. He could survive on his own. Even if she took months to get there, he’d live. Out of everyone Liam could have threatened, K.J. was the least of her worries.
But Maltack. He was still a kid with a kind heart and someone who needed protection.
Kiuno landed on the soft forest floor and the portal behind her closed. She could only hope Liam would live up to his word and return everyone from where they’d come.
A deep roar echoed through the trees and Kiuno’s legs pounded against the earth as she bounded toward the noise.
Ironic.
After crossing so much terrain. After so much heartache and drive to reach the front line, here she was. Back where it all began.
Back to realm one.

During the day, Reed works as a Licensed Massage Therapist in the quiet town of Anderson.
