When October Starts Page 6

“I need you to relax.” I caressed her thighs and positioned myself between them. With two fingers, I softly brushed that wet spot on her laced panties, making her squirm underneath me.

“You like that?” I asked, brushing over that same spot before circling her clit with my fingers.

She nodded, and her eyes were filled with lust. She had no idea what was to come.

I slowly pulled her panties down her legs and let them fall on the bed next to us. “You gotta tell me if you want me to stop, okay? If you feel uncomfortable, you need to let me know.”

“I will,” she quickly replied, sounding very impatient.

I lowered my head and placed another kiss to the inside of her thigh, then moved closer to her clit. Before tasting her, I slid my fingers through her slit, wetting them and making her squirm again.

She lifted her hips, and I couldn’t hold back any longer. I licked her clit and moved my fingers along her entrance, letting her get used to my touch.

“Oh,” she moaned, grabbing fistfuls of my hair.

  “Feel good?”

“Yes,” she purred, making me grin like a fucking teenager who’s having sex for the first time. I enjoyed this as much as she did, and it was only the beginning.

His tongue moved against my clit, making me feel something I’ve never felt before. Sure, I’ve touched myself down there a few times, but I always stopped when I thought I had already reached the highest point possible.

I was dead wrong. I haven’t even been close to a damn orgasm, and Ezra was proving that to me.

Something inside of me was building, and I felt as if I needed to let it out. But I was holding it back, wanting to feel whatever was happening down there for as long as possible.

It was only his tongue moving against my clit, but it was so damn intense. My toes were curled, and my hands tugged on his hair as tightly as possible.

“Let go, sweet girl,” he demanded.

I looked down to see him circle my clit with his tongue, and to stop that pressure inside of me, I finally relaxed and let the orgasm roll over me. I called out to him, feeling as if he was far away. I felt as if I were spiraling out of control, leaving our atmosphere and landing on a planet where lust and desire was all around me. I didn’t want to leave that place, and I tried to hold on to it for as long as possible.

When I felt his finger slide through my slit again, that’s when I slowly came down from that incredible high, and while I tried to catch my breath, Ezra moved up to kiss my lips.

“You’re so goddamn beautiful,” he mumbled into the kiss, and I held him close while he eased the throbbing of my pussy with his fingers.

“How are you feeling?” he asked. I opened my eyes to look into his.

  “Good,” I smiled. “Very good.”

He looked pleased, but it felt wrong not making him feel what I felt after this. “I wanna touch you, too,” I whispered, but Ezra shook his head.

“That’s enough for tonight. It’s late, and you need to get some sleep.” He pushed my shirt down over my body, then pulled me closer to his body with his arms wrapped around me.

“Can I stay for breakfast?” He kissed my forehead and nodded. “Not gonna treat you like a fucking one-night-stand, Juno.”

  Chapter Nineteen

  Juno

“Good morning, sleepy head.” I woke up to the smell of bacon and coffee filling my nose. When I realized I was alone in Ezra’s bed, I got up quickly, put my panties back on and walked out of the bedroom.

He was standing in the kitchen, and there was music quietly playing in the background. “I wanted to wake up in your arms,” I pouted, walking up to him and wrapping my arms around his back. I leaned my head against his chest, and he placed a kiss at the top of my head.

“I didn’t wanna wake you.” His arms held me close to him, and I breathed in his scent. “Did you sleep well?”

“I did. I think I might get used to this.”

He rubbed my back and cupped my head, scratching my scalp softly. “You don’t regret what we did last night?”

I furrowed my brows and looked up into his eyes. “No. Should I?” I challenged, and Ezra shook his head with a chuckle.

“Of course not.” He paused, studying my me a while before cupping my face in his hands. “You’re beautiful.”

I puckered my lips and then raised an eyebrow. “What was that?” I wanted to hear it again. I would’ve cringed if Mom or Aggie said that to me, but when Ezra said those words, I couldn’t help but feel special and loved.

He laughed and rolled his eyes. “You heard me.” He leaned in and kissed the tip of my nose. “You’re the most beautiful girl I’ve ever met,” he then whispered, making me smile like a fool.

“I’m sure you’ve met prettier girls than me before,” I pointed out, mocking him.

“Will you just take the damn compliment?” he exclaimed, squishing my cheeks with both his hands. I had to laugh at his frustration, and I reached up to grab both his wrists, then stood on my tiptoes to kiss his lips.

I slid my tongue along his bottom lip, and his mouth parted to let me in. As our tongues met, his hands left my cheeks and moved down to my lower back.

One thing I’d never ever regret in life would be kissing my teacher. But I wasn’t going to shout it all around town. This was our secret, and I didn’t want to share it with anyone.

The smell of bacon rose up my nose again, and as much as I didn’t want to let go of him, I had to eat. I was starving.

I broke the kiss and looked back into his light blue, almost gray eyes. “I’m meeting Pixie to go to the island today after lunch. Mind if stay that long? We could cuddle on the couch,” I suggested.

A grin spread on his lips. “Are you gonna try to seduce me like you did last night?”

I shrugged, knowing that I wasn’t going to keep my hands to myself. “Probably. We’ll see.”

“What kind of scenes do I have to do today?” Pixie asked as I locked my bike.

“I just wanna take a few more shots of you near the rides and then the cottages. If we get enough today, I think I don’t need you anymore. Well, we still have to do the voiceover.”

“We can record that in school. I know Benji’s got a mic somewhere around school. And we can use the studio no one uses anymore.”

One year ago, Benji had the great idea of creating a radio show for our town. But before even asking us students if we wanted to take part in that project, he invested in all the equipment, only to then be let down by the underwhelming number of students who wanted to be part of the project. It was one. One student wanted to be the host.

The studio’s still there, untouched and ready to be used. “That’s a good idea. I’m sure Benji will be happy about that. Maybe I can even turn it into an editing room. Those computers have better capacity than my old laptop.”

We walked onto the ferry and sat down on a bench on the deck. It was sunny today, and surprisingly warm.

After eating breakfast, Ezra and I watched some more of that true crime series while we cuddled on his couch. I showered, but I had to put on the same clothes I had on the day before. I knew Pixie would notice, so I kept my coat on to not have to explain why I was wearing that same sweater.

Luckily for me, Pixie was concentrating on feeding the seagulls flying around while the ferry moved. I watched her throw the breadcrumbs into the air. Her mother often told her to bring their old, hardened bread with her, so she wouldn’t have to throw it away.

While the ferry moved over the lake, I got lost in my thoughts thinking about Ezra. We had a great second date, and I couldn’t wait to see him again. Even if it was in school, and we both had to try and keep our feelings locked inside of us.

  Chapter Twenty

  Ezra

“You’re aware that half of these kids aren’t even sixteen yet,” I whispered, leaning closer to Benji. We were standing at the back of the classroom, with our students comfortabl
y sitting on the couches. They were watching The Nun, a horror movie they desperately wanted to watch tonight. It was Halloween, and although it was a Saturday, the kids wanted to spend the night here and have a “scary sleepover”.

“Who cares. They’re all enjoying it,” he whispered back. He was enjoying this a little too much. He even volunteered to stay here with the kids. Another teacher, Loren, agreed on staying, too. I was glad I didn’t have to sleep in one of the other classrooms tonight.

My eyes moved from the screen to Juno. She hadn’t looked at me since the movie started, although she would only have to turn her head slightly. I guess she was following our rule of not staring at each other.

We had passed a few milestones in our relationship. Although we hadn’t talked about what we were yet, we had done far more than what people who were dating would do.

I also felt something deep inside me grow every time she laid in my arms, and every moment we spent together made me want to be with her for the rest of my life. We both knew it was difficult to just be boyfriend and girlfriend, but, fuck…I wanted her to be mine.

A few jump scares later, Juno moved, whispering something into Pixie’s ear before getting up and walking over to the door. She left the room and was about to close the door when she looked at me through the small crack, signaling me with her eyes to follow her.

I didn’t hesitate. I put my hand on Benji’s shoulder and nodded to the door. “I’ll be right back. I’ll grab some more snacks and drinks from your office.”

I left the classroom, then walked up the stairs to where I knew Juno would be. The little studio she was allowed to use to create her movie was never entered by anyone else other than us two. It was our little hiding spot, even though it was extremely risky to meet up in there.

I slowly opened the door to the studio, and sure enough, Juno was sitting there on one of the desks, waiting on me.

She was grinning at me with her head tilted to one side, and as I closed the door and locked it behind me, she already reached for my shirt. I let her pull me close to her until I was standing between her legs.

“I missed you,” she said quietly, and I cupped her cheeks with both hands, leaning in to kiss her.

The room was dimly lit, but we didn’t need much more. Her lips moved against mine, and she gripped my shirt tightly with both hands, pulling me closer.

I slid my tongue along the seam of her mouth, and she opened for me to plunge in, making my tongue dance with hers. I held her close, deepening the kiss and then slowly breaking it.

I didn’t want Benji to come look for us, so we had to stop this. “Did you tell your moms that you’re sleeping here tonight?” I asked, brushing her hair back and tugging it behind her ears.

“They’re out of town for the weekend. They don’t even know what’s going on in school.”

I chuckled, placing a kiss to her forehead. “Tell Benji you’re headed home after the movie. I’ll pick you up at your house. You okay with riding your bike all the way home in the dark after watching that movie?”

Her brows raised. “There are scarier things than a demonic nun.”

“Like what?” I challenged with a smirk. But of course, she had a smug answer to that already.

“Seeing the guy I’m dating go to prison for having sex with me, one of his underage students.”

“I’d really like you to take our matters a little more seriously. And we’re not having sex.”

“Yet,” she added quickly, keeping that sly grin of hers in place. “Go, and stop staring at me from back there. It’s creepy,” she muttered.

I chuckled and shook my head, then watched her leave the room before I left too. She most definitely would be keeping me up that night.

But I was ready, and I couldn’t wait to go one step further, closer to that forbidden sweetness.

  Chapter Twenty-One

  Juno

“You could’ve asked Ezra to take you home. He left ten minutes ago,” Benji told me as we walked downstairs to the big foyer.

“Oh, no. Don’t worry, Benji. I’ll be home in no time.” If I had known that Benji wouldn’t have a problem with Ezra driving me home, I probably would’ve gotten into his car with no hesitation. But we didn’t wanna risk anything.

“And you’re home alone? How are you not scared to spend the night alone instead of staying here with your friends?”

“Pixie’s my only friend, and she’s already sleeping. I don’t think I’d have much fun staying here,” I pointed out. It was only ten-fifty, and they decided to watch another horror movie.

“You’re boring, Juno. This is your last chance to spend a night here with all the others. It’s your last Halloween at Memphis.”

I rolled my eyes and opened the big door to leave the building. “I’m also seventeen and don’t really believe that the dead returns to Earth tonight. I don’t wanna stay up late and celebrate a holiday that gives kids more cavities than anything.”

“Right,” Benji chuckled. “You know what? I changed my mind. You’re bothering me again with your know-it-all attitude,” he mocked. Luckily, we didn’t take each other seriously.

I laughed and walked to my bike, then unlocked it and started to walk toward the sidewalk. “Check your surroundings while you’re riding home. Don’t want the nun to come and get you,” he called out, and I shook my head. “I wish,” I muttered.

I quickly made my way home, and as I turned the corner onto my street, I saw Ezra standing next to his car with his hands shoved into his coat pockets.

I smiled at the sight of him, then got off my bike and pushed it up the small path leading to the front door. I didn’t bother locking it, wanting to get to Ezra as quickly as possible.

With only a few steps, I reached him and threw my arms around his shoulders, pressing my lips against his. A low chuckle escaped him, and he pulled me closer against his body.

“Think I will ever get to see your room?” he asked after breaking the kiss.

I scrunched up my nose. “You don’t really wanna see it. It’s messy,” I told him, but he shrugged.

“This is the only chance I’ll get. Show me your room,” he nudged.

I let out a sigh, then looked back at the house. “Please don’t judge our house. There are plants everywhere, and Mom likes to paint but she’s not very good at it, so ignore all the paintings.”

We walked to the front door, and while he waited for me to unlock the door, his hands moved from my waist to my hip, then over the side of my bottom. I loved his hands on my body, and I wished we were at his apartment already. Naked.

“Smells like a herb garden,” he noticed, and I nodded, turning on the lights in the whole downstairs area. “That’s because of Aggie’s wall of herbs.” I pointed to the kitchen where over twenty pots were hanging on the wall.

  “Impressive,” he breathed.

“It is. But the smell can get a little overwhelming sometimes. Pixie once passed out as she entered the house.”

Ezra looked around the kitchen and living area, and I reached for his hand to pull him upstairs to see my little sanctuary. As we arrived to the second floor, I pointed to the ladder leading up to my bedroom. “It’s up there.”

He looked at me with a soft smile, then climbed up the ladder, sticking his head through the gap in the ceiling. I watched as he looked around, taking in everything in my bedroom. “I like this,” he said, stepping back down to look at me “I like your vibe,” he grinned.

I laughed at him. “Don’t ever say that again. You’re too old to use that word.”

Ezra pulled me against his chest, kissing the top of my head while I wrapped my arms around his waist. “But I’m not too old for you?”

I shook my head. “No. You’re perfect for me. There’s no way I can tell my heart who to fall in—” I shut my mouth immediately, staring into his eyes while I cursed myself for almost saying that one word.

The corners of his mouth curled up slowly, and his hands cupped my cheeks gently.
He tilted his head, studying my face carefully. “Wanna finish that sentence, sweetheart?”

I kept staring at him, but I couldn’t stay quiet forever. I swallowed the lump in my throat, and my heart wouldn’t stop pounding in my chest. “I…” My voice was shaking.

Ezra was watching me with a challenging look, but before I could say one more word, he was the one to talk. “I’m in love with you too, Juno.”

My knees went numb, and I was lucky he was holding me up on my feet, or else I would be lying on the floor by now. His words dug deep into my heart, finding a spot where they could stay and never leave.

“I know it’s not going to be easy for us, but I want you to know that no matter what’s going to happen, I’ll be right here.” He kept his voice low, and while my vision blurred, his thumbs brushed over my cheeks.

I was at loss for words. I wanted to tell him that I felt the same, but thanks to my heart beating in my chest so loudly, I couldn’t hear my own thoughts.

  Chapter Twenty-Two

  Ezra

She was sitting on my couch, lost in her thoughts, with a blanket covering her body. She stared blankly at the screen ahead of her, not even flinching as the killer on the screen used his chainsaw to slit open a young girl.

I walked over to her with a cup of tea in hand, and I set it onto the coffee table for it to cool down. “Talk to me, Juno.”

I brushed her hair back, trying to meet her gaze. She finally moved her head, blinking and losing that deep crease between her brows. “I guess I am the main reason why you frown so much,” I chuckled, and she gave me a soft smile.

She reached out to fist my sweatshirt in her hand. “Is it wrong that I’m not scared anymore? I mean…I know it’ll be hard for you if we get caught, but I know it’s gonna be even harder to keep this secret.”

I knew exactly what she meant. I was still scared, though not as much anymore. Now that I had told her I was in love with her, there was no way back. She’s the one I wanted.
