Accidental Score: An Accidental Pregnancy Sports Romance Page 7

  “What’s this?”

  “It’s for you. I’m pregnant.”

  “We’re having a baby?”

I nodded. “Before you say anything else, I’m sorry I didn’t tell you sooner. The timing wasn’t right.” I removed my shirt and twisted it in my hands. “Not that it’s good now either, but you are going to be a daddy.”

  “You’re serious? How? When?”

I searched his face but couldn’t tell if he was happy or mad. He was definitely surprised. “It’s been confirmed by a number of at home tests and a doctor. The antibiotics I was on over Christmas reduced the efficacy of my birth control. I think we both know how it happened. If you need a play-by-play, I can—”

His mouth crashed over mine. I dropped my shirt, wrapped my arms around his neck and kissed him like my life depended on it. When he pulled away, I was panting. He glanced at the shirt I made him and smiled; a panty drenching grin that took my breath away.

“Does this mean you’re happy about having a baby with me?”

“Happy? Oh, Josephine.” He twirled me around. “I’m thrilled.” He kissed me again. “I love you.”

  “I love you too.”

He set me down, tore his shirt off and put on the one I made for him. It looked great on him. He reached into my bag and handed me a blouse.

“Put that on. We need to get out of here,” he said, glancing at our surroundings. “I want to talk with you, but not next to a toilet.”

I pulled the garment over my head and took his hand. “Where are we going?”

  “I’m not sure yet.”

We marched out of the bathroom like we had fire nipping at our heels. I could hardly keep up with Aaron. When we reached the nurse station, a man in green scrubs waved us over. His light brown skin and kind eyes reminded me of Jeremiah.

“I’m doctor Smith. Jeremiah Carter wants to see you Mr. Drakos,” he said. “I’ll take you.”

“She’s coming with me,” Aaron stated.

We followed the doctor into a private room that smelled like bleach. The antiseptic aroma stung my nose. The bed was empty. Jeremiah stood in the corner, staring outside. I’d never seen anyone look hot in a hospital gown, but somehow, he pulled it off.

He turned and faced us. A nasty bump and gash covered most of his forehead. His eyebrows lifted as he pointed at Aaron’s shirt. “Josie, are you pregnant?” He clutched his side and hobbled towards us. “Are you two having a baby?”

Aaron smiled. “Yup. I’m going to be a dad, but we can talk about that later. How are you?”

“You can’t break me,” he said with a smirk. “I’m more worried about my wife, but I’m sure she’ll be fine. She’s the strongest woman I have ever known.”

“She’d have to be to put up with your shit,” Aaron countered.

Jeremiah rolled his eyes and faced me. “You sure you want to marry this joker?”

My cheeks heated. “Just because we’re having a baby doesn’t mean we have to get married.”

“You didn’t ask her?” His eyes shot to Aaron.

My boyfriend shoved his free hand in his pocket. “Well, someone got into an accident and plans changed.”

My chin hit the floor as I gaped at him. Was he planning to ask me to marry him? A Valentine’s proposal would have been so swoon-worthy. My hands shook. Aaron squeezed my left hand, making my heart flutter.

“Don’t waste a second, man.” Jeremiah gripped Aaron’s shoulder. “Do it now.”

The men huddled closer, whispering to each other. This was a strange day. I gazed out the window. Beams of sunlight brightened the room. I followed the rays and gasped. Aaron was on one knee, holding a ring. The diamond sparkled.

“I had something more romantic and elaborate planned, but none of that matters anymore. You and our baby mean everything to me. Will you make me the happiest man alive and agree to be my wife? I’m asking for forever.”

As the ring settled on my finger, my heart felt ready to explode. I had never been this happy. I had always wanted a family. Looking away from his heated gaze, I swallowed the lump in my throat. As a kid, I was always the last one picked or not picked at all, but this amazing man picked me.

“I love you,” I whispered as my eyes filled with tears.

“Josephine, I love you too.” He kissed the knuckle above my new ring. “Is that a yes?”

One three letter word would make dreams I hadn’t even dared to dream come true. I exhaled, dropped to my knees next to him and nodded. “Yes. I want forever too.”

We kissed. He cupped my face and made love to my mouth. I moaned and melted against him.

“When we get home, we’re going to spend a few hours naked.”

I hugged my fiancé as a tear escaped. “This doesn’t change our living situation. I’m not moving in with you until after I get my masters.”

“We’ll figure it out. After our baby, if you want to get your PHD, I’m all for it.”

My heart skipped a beat. I had once told my best friend, perfect didn’t exist, but I was wrong.

Carter clapped, reminding me we weren’t alone. I had almost forgotten he was in the room.

“There’s a chapel in the hospital. Say the word and you can be Mr. and Mrs. today,” he suggested.

Aaron helped me to my feet and draped his arm over my shoulder. “I’m game if you are?”

  “Only in Vegas,” I laughed.

A few short hours later, I stood next to Aaron in a small chapel. I exhaled a long breath and smiled. There was no reason to rush to the alter, but it felt right. With Presley and Jeremiah by our side, my eyes filled with happy tears. I handed a bouquet of fake flowers to my best friend and joined hands with the love of my life.

We vowed to love, honor, and cherish each other forever. My fingers trembled as I placed a giftshop ring on his left hand. When our lips joined, I tasted true happiness.

I was Mrs. Aaron Drakos. I knew one night with him would never be enough. I was right.

  Chapter 8

  Aaron

I had convinced myself I wasn’t the marriage type, but the love of the right woman changed everything. Josephine was special. Days. Months. Years with her wouldn’t be enough. I wanted forever. When I saw my ring on her finger, it felt right. We belonged together.

If I hadn’t knocked her up over Christmas, it would have happened when I took her home after our nuptials. I have fond memories of carrying my bride over the threshold, removing her clothing with my teeth and making love to her over and over until I had to leave for work.

With Carter injured, the rest of the season went by in a blur. We won games but didn’t make it past the first round of playoffs. I didn’t have the Stanley Cup, but my career in the NHL was solid. Or I hoped it would be. Vegas had the chance to protect me from the expansion draft but didn’t. That stung.

Where I ended up, mattered little to me, but my wife had her heart set on staying in Toronto. I didn’t want to get her hopes up, but that seemed like a strong possibility. After several meetings with the new expansion team, negotiations were going well, but we hadn’t finalized a deal. They had a few Vegas players in mind.

I knew my worth on the ice. My reputation and my stats were solid. I tried not to worry about next season, but my knees bounced, and my palms were sweaty as I waited for the news that would change our lives. In a few hours, we’d learn my fate. I’d wear a Toronto Elite jersey or…

“Stop stressing, my love,” Josephine said. She sat next to me on the couch in our condo with one hand on my knee and the other covering her stomach. A protective and loving gesture she did all the time.

She was the sexiest pregnant woman on the planet. Her skin glowed, her rounded belly greeting me with every hug, and her breasts had swelled even bigger and become more sensitive. Her body was an oasis.

  “Distract me.”

She raised her eyebrows. The teasing glint in her eyes gave away her naughty thoughts. “We have the place all to ourselves,” she reminded me.

&n
bsp; My sister wasn’t due back from Vegas until the end of the week. After the accident, Latisha had been in and out of the hospital due to complications. She was on heavy pain medication and needed help. She had a long road to recovery, but she was strong.

“And a few hours to kill.”

“What ever shall we do?” Her hand slid along my leg and landed on my cock.

I hardened instantly. She lowered the zipper of my jeans. As she reached inside my briefs, the skin on skin contact made me shudder. I grit my teeth and groaned as she lowered her head and licked my tip. When she swallowed the first inch, thoughts of hockey disappeared.

She stroked my shaft and swathed my cock in her hot mouth. I wrapped her dark hair around my hand, guiding her. It didn’t take long for my balls to tighten. My wife gave amazing blowjobs. With her sinful lips sealed around me, she hummed and sucked harder. The added vibration was too much.

“Right there!” I erupted, splashing my release down her throat.

Josephine swallowed it like I’d given her a gift. Her green eyes dared me to return the favor. Gladly. Tugging her hair, I pulled her off my dick and stood.

“Hmmm.” She smiled at me. “How was that for distracting?”

  “Perfect. My turn.”

Giving her a show, I shed my clothing slowly. She loved my body as much as I loved hers, but I was impatient to see her naked. I peeled her dress off, tossed it across the room, and bent her over the armrest of the couch. Once she was in a comfortable position, I kissed my way down her spine. Trailing my lips over her ass, I cupped her moist pussy.

  “You are so wet.”

  “Only for you.”

I slapped her rounded globes, enjoying the way they jiggled. “Damn right only for me. You are mine.”

“Yesss!” she hissed as I rubbed her slick entrance. “And you’re mine.”

It would be easy to make her cum with my hand, but I wanted to taste her orgasm. I circled her clit and sank to my knees on the area rug between her spread legs. I breathed her in and admired the pretty view.

  “Aaron, please.”

  “I love you.”

Parting her folds with two fingers, my tongue lapped at her sweet nectar. Over and over until her legs trembled. As I pushed my fingers into her soaking wet channel, her muscles clenched. I sucked on her pleasure center and twisted my fingers deep, reaching the special spot that pushed her over the edge.

“Oh… wow… I love you! Oh… Aaron,” she moaned as I savored and swallowed not one but two of her magnificent climaxes.

Only when her body relaxed, I moved from behind her and stood. She was so beautiful. She lifted her head and a sensual smirk greeted me. As I gazed at my wife, I was like a teenager, hard again and ready to impale her.

I sat on the couch. “Have a seat.” I patted my lap and stroked my erection. “Ride my cock and come for me again. I want to feel your pussy pulse and squeeze every drop I’ve got.”

She flipped her long hair to the side as she sauntered towards me. “Not thinking about hockey anymore, I see.”

With her glorious curves flaunted in my face, I could only think of one thing. “I’m ready to score,” I replied, pulling her closer.

As she lowered her body, I latched onto her nipple. The rosy tip puckered against my tongue. I smiled and buried my face in her big breasts, loving the way I could hide between them. I gripped her hips as she sheathed every hard inch I had to give.

For some couples, the honeymoon ended too soon. With Josephine, it would only get better. After making love, we went for a drive. I brought us by the new arena.

Scaffolding surrounded the building. A woman wearing red pumps and a dark coat stood out from the shadows. As she glanced over her shoulder, my eyes widened. She looked exactly like my ex, Destiny. I blinked, and she was gone. It probably wasn’t her, but an eerie sensation prickled my spine. That woman was trouble.

The more time I spent in Toronto, the more controversy and rumors spread about the new team. The construction of the new arena had been plagued with issues. Vandalism had set back the opening.

The city seemed divided about having two teams. Those opposed were vocal. There was one media outlet in particular that seemed determined to smear the Toronto Elite hockey franchise. Despite all the negativity surrounding the newest NHL team, I hoped to sign with them.

As the minutes on the clock ticked by, we discussed baby names. She kept me busy and distracted. Then my phone rang. I pulled over and parked the car. With my wife by my side, we got the news I’d been nervously awaiting. I hung up with Ben and exhaled. A weight was lifted from my shoulders.

“What happened? Did they pick you?”

Of course they chose me. I was one of the best players in the NHL.

“Looks like we’ll be welcoming our first born in Toronto.”

She jumped over the center console and kissed me. “Congrats. I’m happy. Are you?” Josephine placed her hand over my heart. “I’ve read the articles calling the team jinxed. I’d understand if you’re not thrilled.”

“I’m happy. You make me happy.” I kissed her, fusing our lips together.

I would miss my hockey family in Vegas, but I needed to be in Toronto with my wife. She never had a family, and I intended to give her a big one. Our first pregnancy was an accident, but our next one wouldn’t be.

  Epilogue

  Aaron

Practice turned into a shit show. My new team had monumental challenges ahead. It didn’t seem to matter that we had talent. We couldn’t come together and gel as a team. As one of the veterans, I offered to mentor some of the rookies.

Only Sergei Vadim accepted my offer. He was a good kid. At twenty, he’d overcome more than most his age. His grit and determination reminded me of my wife. Josephine never let anything get in her way. When she set her goals, she achieved them. Vadim was the same way.

He’d been drafted by Winnipeg, but no contract followed. This time after the draft, he signed for a little less than he was worth in my opinion. He didn’t need to prove himself, but he skated and played like each second mattered. It was too bad more of the guys weren’t playing like him.

Since the doors had opened at the arena, our team was plagued with injuries, mishaps, and general bad luck. My career teetered on shaky ground. It was possible we’d solve our problems and shoot for the Cup, but it wasn’t looking good.

“Get off the ice! Go home,” Coach yelled.

I didn’t need to be told twice. Being a new dad had opened my eyes and shifted my priorities. I’d once been the last guy to leave, but now I had a life outside of hockey. I still gave the game my all, but I valued my free time. It took me years to realize hockey wasn’t the only thing that mattered.

As I stepped off the ice, I glanced over my shoulder. Vadim lined a row of pucks across the blue line. He had places to be too, but his priorities were still jumbled. I hoped Westlyn would help him fix that. I didn’t know their history, but there was something going on between them. Something they weren’t sharing.

If I hadn’t fallen for my sister’s best friend, I wouldn’t have found true happiness. I never thought I’d find domestic happiness with a curvy, book worm, but life was full of surprises. Josephine hadn’t changed me. I was still an enforcer on the ice and off it. No one would ever hurt my wife, my baby girl, or my guys. I looked ahead with a smile on my face.

When I got home, I dropped my gear and searched for my family. “Where are you hiding?”

The scent of banana bread wafted down the hall. I followed my nose into the kitchen. Josephine held baby Presley against her chest. Our newborn was swathed in pink with her full head of dark hair poking from under a knit beanie. My sister donned oven mitts, dropping a fresh batch of baked goods onto a cooling rack.

  My heart was full.

“We’re not hiding, my love.” Josephine turned to face me.

“I’ll always find you,” I joked, closing the distance between us. Our daughter opened her green eyes at the sound of my vo
ice. I leaned over and kissed the tip of her button nose. “I love you, Presley.”

“I love you too,” my sister teased.

  “Good one,” I shot back.

“Seriously. You two need to give my namesake a nickname.” She removed the mitts, took the baby and spun her around. “You deserve something that sparkles like you do.”

Naming our first born after my sister had been my wife’s idea. If she hadn’t meddled and forced me to take her best friend out, we never would have fallen in love. I suggested a Christmas name like Noel or something festive to commemorate her conception, but Presley won in the end.

“I’ll think about it,” Josephine replied, wrapping her arms around my waist. She smelled like a mix of baby powder and vanilla. “Should we go talk about it in private?”

She was radiant while pregnant, but she was even hotter as a mother. I lunged for her lips and captured an overdue kiss. Her body molded against mine. She moaned into my mouth, making my cock twitch. I lifted her onto the counter, without breaking the kiss.

“Gross,” my sister whined. “You don’t want to see mommy and daddy making you a brother or sister, do you? No, and neither do I,” she added, stepping out of the room.

“That’s a great idea,” I said, running my hands along Josephine’s thighs and pulling her panties down.

She giggled as her fingers knotted in my hair. “You do realize if we make a baby tonight, we’ll have to name the next one after her too.”

“Fine with me. We’ll fill the house with little Presley’s and live happily ever after.”
