The Powerful Pride of an Immortal (Immortal Supers Book 4) Page 17

by Kurtis Eckstein

As I carried Heidi up the stairs, Lexi commented that she was probably going to sleep with her sister after taking a shower, since she wasn’t sure she could handle sleeping alone tonight. I agreed that it was probably a good idea and reminded her that I would also be awake all night, in the event she needed me.

She thanked me, asking if I would stay upstairs, which I had no problem agreeing to, figuring I could just chill out on the FRIL sectional sofa in the large loft area.

As I entered Heidi’s room, with Lexi going to hers to grab stuff for a shower, I set the sleeping girl in my arms gently on the bed, only for her to stir slightly and wrap her arms around my neck. And, against my better judgment, I didn’t stop her from pulling me down on top of her, her thigh suddenly between my legs, still seeming mostly asleep.

I took a few slow breaths as I felt her warm body underneath mine, feeling conflicting emotions. She was still wearing her gold sequins shirt and jeans from before, looking just as hot as she’d appeared when she first left for her date. Even her makeup still looked mostly great, indicating it was the waterproof kind because I had no doubt she’d cried and everything else in the last couple of hours.

So part of me was super aroused by my current predicament.

But then there was the part of me who wasn’t a horny jackass, who was extremely worried about her. Because what she’d just been through was traumatizing. Like, I wasn’t even sure how she was going to recover from this.

She’d avoided going out by herself for a long time, almost never doing it, and she’d finally worked up the courage to try to hang out with someone, only for it to end in the worst way possible. And sure, a part of me was morbidly glad it didn’t work out with her date, but never in a million years would I have wished this upon her.

I was fully prepared to give her extra attention to maybe try to get her to give up on the whole dating thing, as selfish as that was, but this was just horrible. I wanted her to choose not to date, not be terrified by it.

It was like Lexi’s situation. No way in hell did I want her to be terrified of sex. Like, if she didn’t have sex, I wanted it to be because she chose not to, not because she literally was scared out of her mind from life-altering trauma.

I turned my head when I noticed movement, realizing Lexi had stopped at the doorway. She didn’t react the way I expected though, seeing me like this, instead stepping into the room and carefully sitting down on the floor next to the bed, leaning against it with a slightly vacant look in her eyes.

  “Are you okay?” I whispered.

She took a moment to respond. “Is there any way I can convince you to sleep in bed with us?”

Shit, that was not what I was expecting to hear, though I knew with absolute confidence she did not mean that sexually. Not after what we just experienced.

“Promise not to tempt me?” I asked seriously, before I’d even really considered the implications.

Her eyes widened in shock, only to nod urgently.

“M-Maybe for a little bit,” I agreed hesitantly. “At least until you fall asleep.”

“Okay,” she whispered, dropping the pajamas in her hand and getting up to push on my side.

I rolled closer to the wall, so that I was on my back, looking at her in confusion. “Wait, aren’t you going to take a shower?” I asked.

She shook her head, really pushing the limits of the agreement we just made by climbing on top of me, before squeezing between me and the wall. The movement caused Heidi to stir again, with her scooting closer so that her forehead was buried against the side of my chest.

Honestly, I didn’t really care if Lexi took a shower or not, since we really weren’t dirty despite everything, but I was just surprised she gave it up so quickly.

Maybe she was concerned I’d change my mind.

As Lexi got comfortable, resting her head on my chest, I stared up at the ceiling trying super, super , hard not to…you know…

  Get hard.

I also tried, in general, to not think too heavily about the fact that I was lying in bed with them. I mean, it wasn’t too big of a deal, because I wouldn’t be falling asleep, and there was no way I was going to do anything with either of them, especially since Lily and Freya…

And that’s when it finally dawned on me – the obvious. I was lying in bed with two hot blondes, and there was absolutely no one else in the house right now.

  Shit.

  11: Altering Decisions

  Lily Dodson

  April 13, 2735 – Current Day – Late Evening

Lily finished putting her cherry-red latex sheets on the bed, to avoid burning down Freya’s secret underground shelter in the event she had a nightmare, and then she sat down looking around the room. Freya told her that she hadn’t been here in over thirty years, which is why she’d never mentioned it, but it was clean like a maid had been by only yesterday.

Then again, no people coming in and out, combined with a really expensive HVAC system, meant no dust, which was usually the biggest indicator of long-term vacancy.

The vampiric super owned the property where this place was hidden, surrounded by fencing and trespassing signs, with the house being completely off the grid and hidden away from sight.

  Literally, hidden from sight.

When they pulled up to it, the door was concealed behind a boulder and looked like the entrance to an old-fashioned cellar, prompting Lily to think they were going to have to hike to find it.

But nope. They were already there.

And the hidden underground home had everything someone would need to camp out for a while, including two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a living room, kitchen, and all the necessary appliances. It also had running water and electricity powered by a very expensive resonator, hidden in the trees, with a ridiculously long life-expectancy.

The only thing the place didn’t have was food, since this was a spot Freya designed for herself, but that was perfectly fine with Lily. They brought plenty of baby formula for Eden, just in case, as well as some canned goods for herself.

She’d pretty much missed dinner, not being able to eat after Sam left, but she definitely wasn’t hungry right now.

If anything, she felt a little sick to her stomach.

This would be the first night she’d spent away from Sam in what seemed like forever, not to mention she was worried about Lexi and Heidi. She couldn’t even imagine what they just went through, or how scary and traumatizing it would have been.

But at least the danger was over now.

Lexi’s attacker should think she was dead, and it sounded like the government was doubling its efforts to try to track this guy down. Freya wasn’t worried at all now, after her initial panic, but hadn’t wanted to turn around when they were already over halfway there.

Taking a deep breath, Lily looked up when the door opened, with Freya silently slipping inside and closing it behind her, locking it as she did so.

  “Done feeding Eden?” Lily asked.

Freya nodded. “Rose isn’t tired, so she’s going to watch her for a while. Figured it would give us some time to relax a little and talk.”

Lily scooted more onto the bed and crossed her legs, the red latex sheets crinkling underneath her, with Freya sitting down right up against her knee, looking at the wall pensively.

Neither of them had taken the time to change, leaving the busty vampire in one of Lily’s black latex nightgowns, the top barely containing her chest, while Lily was wearing a pair of black latex shorts and a silver top that was actually one of the few FRIL camisole shirts that Freya owned back when her chest was much smaller.

Currently, it was one of only a handful of latex shirts Lily had available that wasn’t super baggy in the chest area, with the thin adjustable straps on the shoulders helping it fit better.

“You alright?” Lily wondered quietly, reaching out to rub her shoulder.

Freya smiled, lifting her hand to grab Lily’s and pull it into her lap. And Lily let her. Freya then took a
deep breath. “Would it bother you if I ate a little?” she wondered.

Lily looked at her in surprise, her fingers trembling just slightly. “S-Sure,” she agreed in a shaky voice.

It had been three days since they discovered that Lily could heal almost as fast as Sam could, though it was very doubtful she’d be able to recover from an injury that was too serious. Yet this was the first time Freya had asked about one of the first things that popped into Lily’s head after she accidentally cut herself and the wound vanished.

Without further delay, her best friend lifted her hand up to her lips, gently kissed her on the wrist for a few seconds, and then very carefully sank her teeth in.

  It hurt.

The pain wasn’t as nauseating as being cut with a knife, but it still made Lily wince and want to pull away. However, after the initial bite, the discomfort began to subside, prompting her to take a few slow breaths as Freya sucked on the wound.

However, then her forehead split open, her third eye focusing as it appeared, prompting Lily to look at her in confusion.

“What’s wrong?” she wondered. “Did you think it wasn’t me?”

Freya was silent for a moment, before gently licking Lily’s wrist as the wound closed up, only to finally shake her head.

“No, of course I knew it was you. I just wanted an update on your thoughts. I wanted to know how you felt about this situation, because I want to talk about it.”

Now Lily was really confused. “Okay? What are you thinking?”

She took a deep breath, holding Lily’s hand in her lap again. “We need to figure out what to do about Lexi and Heidi long-term. Because even though this threat is basically over for now, there might be others in the future.”

Lily’s heart sunk, depression settling down on her shoulders. “You think we should kick them out of our lives,” she assumed.

Freya unexpectedly looked at her in surprise, examining her somber expression. “Well, that is one option, but Rose would be devastated if we did that.”

Lily was confused again. “Then you mean?” Her eyes suddenly widened in shock, before she looked away, feeling depressed for a totally different reason.

“Yeah,” Freya whispered. “We either need to kick them out, like you said, or else pull them fully into our lives. Because them doing things like dating brings a lot of risk into our family when they are this close.” She scoffed. “They know all our secrets. And before I had that evaluation done for Eden, they knew things about me that even the government didn’t know. And they know things about Rose and Eden. They know things about the shadow organization. We can’t have them looking for companionship in people we don’t know and trust when they are this close to our lives. Especially not when there is danger lurking in the shadows.”

She took a deep breath and let it out slowly, tightening her grip on Lily’s hand. “And we also can’t just ‘not tell them’ about stuff either – not if they are going to be around so much. So there’s really no in-between anymore.”

“I know,” Lily admitted somberly. “I didn’t think it would bother me so much when I found out Heidi had a date, but it really did. And that was even before all this happened.”

Freya nodded, taking another deep breath.

Lily continued. “And, I guess maybe I’ve gotten used to you and Sam having sex, because the idea of Sam sleeping with Heidi or Lexi does bother me, but not as much as it would have a year ago. But I’m just worried that…” Her voice trailed off.

“I know,” Freya agreed. “Me too. I want to be Sam’s main woman. I don’t want to be replaced and end up as the side-chick.”

Lily laughed humorlessly, feeling far from amused. “But that’s all Heidi wants at least, right?” she asked.

Freya nodded. “Yeah, Heidi doesn’t want to be Sam’s main girl. I mean, she loves him and wants to spend time with him, but she doesn’t want her life to revolve around that relationship like it does for us. Basically, she doesn’t want a husband like we do, but instead wants a buddy to chill with. Someone she can hang out with, play with, and then wake up the next morning and do whatever she wants.” Freya sighed. “Not that she isn’t committed. She really only wants Sam, and would never cheat on him if she was allowed to basically ‘have a piece of him.’ But she doesn’t want to feel like she’s in a serious relationship. She doesn’t want to feel like she has to fill the role of being his wife, or even just serious girlfriend. She just wants to hang out every once in a while, get the romance she needs, and then continue living like she’s single.”

“A buddy,” Lily repeated, thinking about it. “And what about Lexi?”

“She’s more complicated, but would be perfectly fine just being Sam’s mistress. While Heidi is in love with Sam, Lexi is almost obsessed at this point – like, for a while now, her thoughts have pretty much revolved around him. It’s like her life goal is to make him happy in any way she can. And she’s not worried about her own happiness at all. Or rather, her happiness is tied to making him happy.”

“So…” Lily began hesitantly. “Things could be like how they are now, except that there might be sex involved.”

  Freya nodded.

Lily took a deep breath, and let it out slowly. She then considered the overall situation again, thinking about how much she didn’t like the idea of Heidi dating, yet knowing how wrong of her it was to want to exert that much control over either of the sisters’ lives. But would she really be able to stomach this? She’d already considered this option before, and now it felt even more necessary that she make a decision soon, but this kind of thing was a huge step.

Because once this happened, there was no easy way for it to go back to how it was.

Once Sam began having a romantic relationship with either sister, nothing would ever be the same again. And it wasn’t like Lily could just decide to change her mind, because even if everyone listened, nothing would be the same.

  There was no going back.

Freya unexpectedly cleared her throat, focusing on Lily with concern. “There’s something else I wanted to talk about too.”

Lily looked down at her hand still in Freya’s lap, as her best friend gently stroked her wrist with her thumb. “What is it?” she wondered.

Freya continued. “If we decide to let this happen, then it will mean there are going to be times when everyone is in bed for the night, but Sam isn’t in our bed. At least, not right away. That will end up giving us some extra alone time together.”

Lily looked up at her in alarm, her stomach suddenly tying in knots. “F-Freya, I can’t…” Her words cut off as she tried to swallow, her heart suddenly pounding in her throat, her mouth suddenly dry.

Freya was immediately reassuring, gently running her fingertips down Lily’s arm while still holding onto her hand in her lap. “I’m not asking you to do anything you don’t want to do,” she said gently. “But I would like to do some of the things we’ve already done.”

Lily gave her another confused look, her body trembling slightly. “W-What have we done?”

“The vibrator,” she replied, her expression just as gentle as her touch. “I want you to control the remote like you’ve done before. The only difference is Sam won’t be inside of me too.”

Lily’s head began to spin, prompting her to lean over and lie down on the bed. She tried to focus on the smell of her cherry-red latex sheets, instead of the images popping into her mind.

Freya was immediately concerned. “Hey, are you alright?”

But Lily could only nod, her racing heart preventing her from speaking. She tried to focus again as she felt Freya shift her weight and begin rubbing her shoulder affectionately. After a moment, Lily managed to speak. “D-Do I have to touch you?” she wondered.

“No, of course not. I just want you to control the remote. That’s all. It’ll be like when we use it with Sam, except no Sam.”

“And what about your bloodlust?” she asked, her eyes unfocused.

  “Well, that’s up to yo
u,” she said softly. “Sam has already said he would be fine with me using him to satisfy it.”

“But what if it takes too long for you to get there?” Lily asked seriously, unable to look up at her. “What if you need to satisfy it again?”

“Lily, I’m not going to bite you like that, unless you’re okay with it. Even if you can heal really fast now, I won’t do that to you.”

She nodded weakly, feeling dizzy again. “C-Can you just try biting me now, so I can get an idea of how bad it’s going to hurt if you can’t control yourself?”

  “I’ll control myself,” she promised.

“But I need to know, Freya. Otherwise, I’m going to be scared.”

Freya paused, falling silent for a moment. “But won’t you be scared if you decide it hurts too much?”

Lily was also quiet. “Maybe,” she finally admitted. “But if this might end up happening eventually, where you do bite me, then I want you to do it when you’re fully in control of yourself. I want you to do it when I know you’ll stop if I tell you to, without me having to use my flames.”

  Freya paused, before responding. “Okay.”

Crap! Was she really ready for this?! Being bitten by Freya was no joke!

Lily immediately tensed and closed her eyes tight when she felt Freya carefully pulling down the thin silver strap of her FRIL camisole, exposing her shoulder. She then cringed when she heard her best friend’s jaw beginning to pop, her eyes closing even tighter as she felt Freya’s breath on her skin.

And then she could feel the pressure of rows of daggers pressing into her, Freya’s mouth so large that she could fit Lily’s entire shoulder inside.

Lily immediately bit her bottom lip as the sensation began escalating into pain.

“Ouch, ouch, ouch, ouch,” she hissed, knowing her friend wouldn’t stop unless she specifically told her too. Her head was spinning, and her body was heating up, but she managed to keep her temperature mostly under control.
