Dragon Vanquished: A Reverse Harem Fantasy Romance (Dragon Gladiators Book 4) Page 16

by Zara Stark

“Of course you haven’t, it’s found only in Wakanda, after a meteor struck the earth there,” Azar lied.

“An impactite, fascinating, what are its properties and what is it used for?” Vulcan asked fascinated. His entire face lit up, green eyes glowing, with curiosity and it made his scarred face look handsome. I could the godliness in his face now instead of only in his stature.

“Uh for superhero shields is what it’s most famously used for but powering up panther deity blessed superheroes is its other main use,” Azar continued. Cobalt rolled his eyes and I resisted the urge to groan.

“He’s playing with you,” I tried to laugh it off in a light-hearted manner. “He can’t really help it.”

Vulcan did no look amused, the interested look dropping off of his face. “Let’s just get on with this.”

He snapped his long fingers and the world around us faded away, reappearing as a dark and smokey room, pools of lava bubbled across the floor. Weapons and gadgets of all shapes and sizes hung from the walls.

“I love what you’ve done with the place,” I squinted to see the god in front of us, smiling.

He glanced at me, his frown growing even deeper. “Drop your drachma into a pool and ask it where your dragons are, the more descriptive you are of them the better.”

“Okay,” I grimaced at him, he really didn’t like me, that much I could tell. It didn’t really bother me when people didn’t like me, I knew my personality was a lot for people to handle. But a deity that could kill me? That was another story.

I carefully stepped around Vulcan and made my way toward the closest glowing pool of lava or was it magma? If we were inside the volcano it was magma, right? Azar and Cobalt followed closely behind me, shielding me from Vulcan.

I knelt down and dropped the coin in. The ancient gold coin immediately disappeared into red gold liquid. The pool of magma swallowed the coin without even a plop. I felt Azar’s breath hitch behind me in anticipation.

We stared at the magma pool for what felt like an eternity. I was about to turn around and complain to Vulcan when the magma started to glow.

“Woah,” Azar whispered. The white glow of the magma starting to glow in rainbow colors, multicolored streams of light shooting out of the magma. Azar and Cobalt shot to their feet, pulling me up with them and standing in front of me in a protective manner. I watched the pool from the gap between their biceps.

“Ow!” A woman snapped from the pool. The glowing light ebbed enough to reveal a naked blonde woman hovering above the magma. She was as tall as Vulcan and the most beautiful woman I had ever seen, her platinum blonde hair floated around her catching the rainbow light, reflecting it. “I can be summoned from pools but a pool of magma is taking it a bit far, don’t you think?”

“Hi!” I pushed between Cobalt and Azar. “We’re sorry we summoned you in hot lava, just doing what we’re told, oh gods, now I’m babbling, who are you?”

The blond woman looked me over with her oddly white eyes, there was no definition between her pupil, iris or sclera, just a blank glowing white. She looked past me to Vulcan before returning her eyes to me.

“I am Iris, goddess of rainbows, what do you need?” She asked with a powerful, melodic voice. Another deity on the same day. Flying under the radar as I got my dragons back wasn’t exactly panning out how I had hoped. So far I had pissed off an Underworld deity, irritated a blacksmith god and now I’ve burnt a beautiful rainbow goddess. Why was she so beautiful! Gah! It was hard to even look at her let alone speak to her.

“I need to find two dragons. A purple lightning dragon and a pale cyan ice dragon, both flew away from Rome almost two months ago and I have no idea where they would go. I was told you could help me,” I clasped my hands together, pleading. I was ready to bust out the ‘help me Obi Wan Kenobi, you’re my only hope’ if I had to.

“Well, you paid the toll so I will help you. Dragons tend to flock to where the best food source is. They can live off of meat and their elements, so they must be either in a densely populated area or somewhere abundantly electric and cold respectively,” Iris tapped her chin. “I will search through my rainbows and see what I can find. Wait here.”

The goddess disappeared in a flash of light and I exhaled hard. I looked back to Azar and Cobalt. “Holy Frijoles.”

Azar opened his mouth to say something but Iris reappeared.

“That was fast,” I swung back around to smile at the goddess.

“Yes I am, second to only Zephyr,” Iris smiled at me. “A purple lightning dragon has been spotted in the Genoan Valley and an ice dragon in the Alps. Thank you for the coin. Summon me somewhere nice next time.”

She disappeared without another world, all of her glowing light leaving a vacuum of darkness in the room.

“You’ve got your information now,” Vulcan spoke up, walking around to face us. “I want my Rhodium now.”

“It will take me a while to synthesize,” Cobalt grumbled, running a hand through his dark hair. “Without the platinum ore, it is hard to isolate.”

“How long?” Vulcan asked, narrowing his eyes.

“At least twelve hours,” Cobalt shrugged. “If you’ve got a source of other Period Five elements, it will be easier.”

“I’ve got plenty of silver, will that work?” Vulcan asked.

“Yeah, I guess it’ll do,” Cobalt grumbled. He sounded gruff but I could tell from the expression in his eyes that he was truly excited. He was a metal dragon and a blacksmith in his own right. To work with the god of blacksmiths had to be a special honor even if it was under strange circumstances. Add in the fact that he got to manifest a unique metal that he didn’t get to very often was an extra bonus.

“What are we going to do?” Azar asked.

“I don’t care,” Vulcan gestured to the right. “There are a private room and hot springs that way. Do whatever you want as long as it doesn’t involve stealing.”

“Sweet!” Azar grinned, gripping my arm, he started to tug me down the hall. I struggled against him, locking my eyes onto Cobalt.

“Are you going to be alright?” I mouthed.

He nodded, eyes alight of with interest. “I’ll be just fine.”

“Okay,” I smiled at him blowing a kiss. I turned around and shook free of Azar’s grip and took his hand, lacing my fingers through his.

  Chapter 16

Azar led me down the hallway, the black stone walls were lined with weapons. Torches perched on the right every twenty feet making the hallway darker than the main room we had been in before. The hallway finally opened up into a large cavernous room, torches lined the circular room. A large circular bed stood against the far right wall, the frame carved of pure gold, the mattress swathed in red silk. To the left was an Olympic pool-sized hot spring. My bones ached at the sight of it. All I needed was a glass of Moscato and my Kindle and that hot water would be heaven on earth. I couldn’t even imagine how behind I was on my weekly nonfiction book let alone all of the new releases from my favorite indie authors.

“Wow, Azar look at this!” I tugged him along to the pool until we were at the very edge. “I don’t think I ever want to leave.”

“When we get back to our time, how about I install a giant hot tub for you?” Azar trailed his hot hands over me. “I’ll make sure it never gets cold, even in winter. We’ll enjoy the hot water year round like those snow monkeys in Japan.”

“Like the Japanese Macaques?” I leaned in closer to his touch, running my hands down his chest and back up again. Smoothing over his shoulders, feeling the soft fabric that Vulcan had given them beneath my fingers. Blue and black certainly popped off of Azar’s copper hair and skin, it even made his yellow eyes appear a molten gold.

Azar's heated glance ghosted over my skin as I pulled his toga off, pulling the thin blue and black linen down over his tan shoulders and letting it fall to his feet. He shivered under my touch, quite the feat for me to accomplish considering he was a fire dragon. I let my fingers trail from
his shoulders down to his chest. His eyes swept over me hungrily and I knew I had him. I gave him a large toothy grin and shoved him backward into the hot spring. He crashed into the hot water with a loud and messy splash. He resurfaced, his water soaked hair looking more blood red than copper, it contrasted with his golden eyes, making them look like they were glowing in the dim cave light.

"Really?" Azar asked as flipped his hair back, spraying me with hot water.

"Payback is a bitch and so am I," I grinned. "Also you reek. You've been hanging out at the volcano too long, you smell like sulfur."

"Payback? For so long ago?" Azar fake whined.

"Payback knows no length of time, it is simply a bitch," I shrugged. "But I guess I can stop being a bitch for a minute."

I yanked off my card holster at my waist but I didn't undo the knot holding my strophion together and instead just yanked it over my head and tossed it over my shoulder.

A devilish grin slowly crept onto Azar's face, making him much more cat-like than draconic.

“I’ve missed you,” Azar growled from the water, his eyes trailing my curves, I could see that he was already hard beneath the water.

I dipped a toe in the water, it was scalding hot. Perfect.

“I’ve missed you too and I’ve missed this,” I walked around the edge of the hot spring until I came to a small dip had been carved into the side of the pool, makeshift stairs. Azar’s eyes followed me the entire way, eyeing me up and down with an intense hunger in his eyes. I enjoyed every minute of it, putting a little sass in my step. As I walked down the stairs into the water, I lifted my arms above my head, making my breasts bounce and I saw Azar swallow hard. With a little smirk playing at my lips, I shook my hair free from it’s up-do and stepped further into the water. My hair was much longer than it had been back in Rome, below my breasts. Wading through the rib-deep water made the pale ends of my hair trail in the water.

I saw Azar shiver, knowing that the fire dragon wasn’t cold. I maintained eye contact with him as I waded across the pool. I stopped when I made it less than an inch from Azar, my nose almost touching his chest. I looked up at him through my eyelashes and grinned. He looked down at me, his amber eyes burning in the low light, biting his bottom lip. I could feel the heat emanating off of his skin. My breath hitched in my throat as Azar crash his lips down onto mine, ensnaring me into a punishingly hot kiss.

Returning his kiss, I wrapped one arm around his neck and tangled my fingers in his bright hair. Azar reached down and wrapped his hands around my hips, pulling me up closer to him. I instinctively wrapped my legs around him, moaning into his mouth as his cock pressed against my sex. The velvety hot skin felt delicious against me.

Azar wasted no time, thrusting hard into my wanting body. He spun me around in the sizzling water until my back was pressed up against the stone wall on the other side of the tub. Azar’s kiss was vicious and all-consuming as he pumped in and out of me. I gripped his hair hard, using it as leverage as I met each thrust of his hips with one of my own. I was sure that Cobalt could hear us and probably even Vulcan. We were fucking in a God’s hot spring. The stray devious thought sent another wave of pleasure through me. It was wild and bad and it felt so good.

“Oh Gods, Azar,” I moaned in his mouth, breaking the kiss to sigh against his lips. I started to kiss down his throat and he groaned into my hair. I nibbled at his throat.

“Azar!” I screamed as a mind-shattering orgasm rocked through my body, Azar’s thrusts slowed. I laid my head down on his shoulder, to ride out my release. Still inside of me, Azar pulled me away from the wall. With his hands anchored on my hips, he leaped out of the tub and toward the bed. He laid on his back and grinned up at me. The change of angle sent a wave of pleasure through me.

I returned his grin and began to ride him.

“Faster,” Azar groaned, closing his eyes and biting his lower hip. I picked up the pace. Azar moved his hips with me, bouncing me on the length. His eyes were on my breasts with every bounce. He reached up with his hands, palming a breast in each one, massaging them. I might’ve been embarassed if I wasn’t a totally slave to the feel of him inside of me and the fiery, possessive look in his eyes. I was still staring into his eyes when another orgasm ricocheted through me. I cried out. Azar’s hands left my breasts and went back to my hips, punishingly gripping them as he continued to thrust into my spent body.

“Tavia!” He moaned, his movements taking on a jerking feel as I felt him release. My entire body felt boneless as he reached up and cradled me in his arms, pulling me down next to him on the bed.

I woke to a loud crashing in my room and sat up "You slept in my bed?!" Vulcan roared. "You fucked in my bed? In my bath?"

I stared at him with wide eyes, both groggy and shocked. I didn’t even remember falling asleep. I was at a loss for words. Azar, however, wasn't. He popped up in bed too and laughed at the deity.

"You said to occupy ourselves and we did," Azar stretched languidly, the blanket pooling around his hips, giving me a delectable view of the V of his hips. "What are you so mad about?"

"You desecrated my bed!" The god roared again but some of his gusto was missing. His temper seemed to have deflated after seeing how little Azar feared him or maybe it was because he had in fact given us free rein to do whatever we wanted as long as we didn't steal from him.

"Don't tell me an all-powerful deity like you doesn't have a maid to change his sheets," I giggled. I was as crazy as Azar apparently, Or maybe I was a bit giddy from the wine and orgasms.

Vulcan rounded on me, his eyes drifting over my body, making me realize that I was still in his bed naked. He might have disliked me but his gaze told me he at least appreciated what he saw.

That was when Cobalt rushed in the room, shoving past Vulcan to pull the blanket back up over me. He pressed a hard kiss to my forehead and glared at Vulcan

"Hey, I don't care if you're a deity, eyes off my fucking woman alright?!" Cobalt growled at Vulcan. Then he turned his head to glare at Azar to.

"What gives? Why are you letting him look at her?" Cobalt snapped at the younger fire dragon.

"Dude, it's her body, if she wants to walk around topless for the rest of her life, then who cares? It's the looker's problem, not hers," Azar defended.

"Can you guys not fight please?" I asked. "I forgot I was still naked. Let's not make a big deal out of this."

"Can you both get out of my bed and dressed please?" Vulcan spoke up and all three of us turned to look at the god. We all had kind of forgotten he was still there but he was and he even said please!

"Of course, sorry," I told him. "Can you leave while we dress?"

Vulcan glowered at us but turned on his metal heel and walked away. As soon as he rounded the corner, out of sight, I threw my legs over the side of the bed and stood.

Cobalt groaned under his breath at the sight of me, stepping closer. "I don't he could hear you out there but I could. I could hear Azar fucking you, I was hard as a rock out there. I think I made him very uncomfortable."

Azar laughed and I couldn't help but join in. Even Cobalt chuckled a little bit.

"Sorry I was such a distraction," I trailed my hand down his body and looked up at him through my eyelashes. Cobalt swallowed hard, his pupils dilated with desire, he was hard even now, tenting his strophion.

Poor guy, I would have to take care of him soon. If we got out of Vulcan's lair that day, I vowed that we would find an inn for the night and I would take care of both of my guys. But for now, I needed to get dressed and get them back on track, on our way to find Azar and Raiden.

"How was meeting your hero?" I walked around him to the pool where my clothes laid on the floor. Azar whistled when I bent over to pick them up and when I stood back up I gave him a grin,

"You know that saying, never meet your heroes? I get it now. I mean, he's a brilliant smith obviously but his personality is rough," Cobalt ran a hand through his long ebony hair.

"I could say the same abou
t another smith I know," Azar sneered at Cobalt, finally getting out of bed himself. I tore the long red fabric in half and tossed it to Azar. The entire bolt of fabric we had bought was enough to wrap around me four times, I would still be fully covered giving some to Azar, even without the gold fabric.

"Haha, very funny, get dressed so we can get the fuck out of here," Cobalt growled at Azar and I rolled my eyes at them. Some things never changed. They were always arguing and fighting each other, I didn't mind it at all as long as it wasn't about me. So far there hadn't been any jealousy about me, my dragons managed it well.

As Azar started to knot the fabric of his new outfit, I tried to do something with my hair. To say I had sex hair would be an understatement, it was more like I had stuck a fork in an outlet. I ran my fingers through my hair until I had gotten the major tangles out and quickly plaited it into one thick braid. The feather Tefra had given me, hung loose. I tossed the braid over my shoulder and stuck the feather behind my ear. I smiled at my guys and found that they were both watching me. Azar held my thigh holster belt up to me.
