Weekend Fling Page 20

by Stacey Lynn

It’s true. I don’t know if I’ve ever said no to him. With him loving me as much as he does, I always know he has my best interests at heart. Some days I’m certain he thinks of me more often than he thinks of himself. I’ve never met a man who so easily cherishes and honors and loves and protects as fiercely and instinctively as Trey.

And now he’s going to be my husband. Forever.

Corbin and Jonas shake Trey’s hand, pulling him in for quick man-hugs, and then their strong arms are around me, officially welcoming me into their fold.

And there’s never been a better group of people I’ve met. Selfless and crazy. Loyal and loud. Trey has not only helped me find a love I can trust in, he’s given me friends that have become family.

And I will honor it, treasure it, and protect it as equally as he does me.

  Forever.

  For Courtney.

You were so loved and will always be remembered.

I hope you’ve found the peace you’ve always searched for.

Love you and miss you sweet friend.

  Acknowledgments

Weekend Fling was not an easy book to write. When I was supposed to start writing this book, one of my best friends took her own life. As much as I wanted Weekend Fling to be as fun and light-hearted as the rest in this series, I simply couldn’t get there fully. It’s taken a long time in my work this year to push past the emotional toll her suicide has left on my heart. While Weekend Fling didn’t dive too deeply into depression and suicide and mental health, I want you to know I didn’t intentionally try to gloss over it either. For my own healing, I needed to address it while still trying to keep the overall feeling of Weekend Fling consistent with the rest of the series. But please know, if you suffer mentally, I am praying for you. If you are depressed, PLEASE seek help. No matter how lost and alone you may feel, there are people in your life who need you. I promise you.

Huge thank you to Kathryn McCrane, BN Toler, Tonya Rapp, and Hilary Suppes, who all played vital roles in ensuring Weekend Fling was the best it could be.

Special, enormous thank-you to my family, who is always here, cheering me on and being so patient when I’m in my office. Your support is everything to me and I love you all with all of my heart.

To my Sweeties! I love you ladies and your excitement for my books!

To all the bloggers who devote their time and passion to reading books, book tours, release events, leaving reviews, promoting and pimping—you are all rock stars! Thank you for all the love over the years.

Thank you to the Random House family for all the support you have shown me over the years. I have learned so much from you.

And last but definitely not least—to you the reader. I’m blown away with every release how much you adore my books. You have made my dream a reality and I hope I can cheer you on with yours.

Over the long, frigid winters, she would read every book she could get her hands on, from John Grisham and Danielle Steel to Ann M. Martin and C. S. Lewis. She began writing poems and short stories long before she reached high school, and now, as a wife and mother to four children, she finds solace from the craziness of her life by creating steamy, sexy stories. After publishing her first book, what began as a hobby has now turned into an unending passion.
