CHAPTER 17 (Northern Continent)
Those who set out for the Lindish rtathlians were in high spirits and although the impending threat of war managed to dampen this enjoyment a bit, it did not dampen it so much that anybody would notice.
The overcrowding in the settlement might well have had something to do with it. It had gotten much worse since the Larg had been sighted and killed all living creatures within the Armstrong farmstead. Despite their worries about the more obvious dangers that would exist inland of the settlement, many colonists yearned for the space and adventure that was promised when they had originally set out from Earth for Riga. They had most definitely not enjoyed the experience of being forced to hide behind palisade walls in cramped and often unsanitary conditions.
