Forbidden Neighbor: A Contemporary Romance Boxset (Forbidden Saga Book 2) Page 15

by Summer Brooks

We headed into the mall, wandering aimlessly and making funny comments about other shoppers. We ducked into one of those teeny-bopper stores, the kind where all the clothes were made for fourteen-year- olds. There were a ton of them trying to get their mothers to allow them to buy outfits that were way too promiscuous for girls their age.

Freya laughed, holding up a tiny crop top. "I still remember trying to get Mom to let me wear crap like this around when I was in high school. She never really cared that much, but Dad would always have a fit and march me right back to the store to return it."

I smiled. "They never did agree on much, did they?"

Freya shook her head. "Nope." She replaced the garment on the rack and fingered a sequin mini-skirt. "Although, I still think I would look amazing in this."

"Oh, please. You'd look so trashy in that. Don't you dare think of buying it."

"I'm not," Freya defended herself. "I'm just saying, I would look great in it. Just because I can, doesn't mean I will."

She stared at a group of teenage girls as they went through the clearance rack in the back of the store, likely trying to find something risqué to wear to some house party tomorrow night with their babysitting money.

"Having some nostalgia?" I asked, poking her in the ribs. Of course, I was very young when Freya was a teenager, but even I remembered how pretty and popular she had been, always having friends over to the house. I, on the other hand, was what they called a "late bloomer" and I didn't even begin to remotely look like a woman until I was at least eighteen.

"No, not nostalgia, exactly. Kind of the opposite, actually." She turned away from me. "It's nothing."

I knew better than to accept that answer. Freya wasn't one to not want to talk. It was definitely a big something, or she would have started blathering on about it by now.

"On no, what is it?" I asked, folding my arms and standing between her and the clothing rack she'd been pawing through. "Let's get out of this ridiculous store and walk and talk."

She followed me out without another word and we stepped into the main walkway through the mall. I waited for her to start talking but she didn't. Instead, I caught her eyeing a couple pushing a baby stroller with a little smile on her face. Finally, she started talking. I knew she wouldn't last long.

"It's just that sometimes I wonder whether I will ever be a mother. I was looking at those girls in the store and for the first time in my life, I think I feel like I am closer to having the perspective of a mother than sharing the outlook of a teenager."

I laughed. "Well, you're still plenty immature if it makes you feel less old," I teased.

"Shut up, Jaz! I'm serious. I never believed the old hens when they talked about how your clock starts ticking when you reach your mid-thirties, but here I am, thirty-four years old, and dammit, I feel it ticking away." The look on her face was wistful.

"Well, do you want to be a mother?" I asked, hesitantly. She’d never once talked about kids before. I realized I never even knew where she stood in that regard.

"I don't know," she sighed. "I mean, Eric and I have talked about it. To be honest, I have never considered having kids with anyone but him. It's different with him, you know? I can kind of see it happening.”

I nodded. "Well, it's a good thing you married him, then. You're both at a good place with your careers, and you're in love. If you want to have a baby, I’d say go for it. I know I’ll make an excellent aunt, anyway."

Freya smiled and squeezed my hand. "You totally would. Although, I think you would make a great mother yourself. You and Blake ever talk about it?"

A huge smile spread across my face at her compliment, and because of the thought of having a baby with Blake. "We've sort of mentioned it, but nothing serious. We both want kids sometime in the future."

Freya nodded, "Yeah, same here. Although, it must be nice for you to be married so young and have all the time in the world to figure it out. My eggs are getting dustier and more decrepit by the second."

"Whatever, Freya. It must have been nice for you to have been able to party and date whichever hot guy you wanted, whenever you wanted, all through your twenties. Don't even pretend like you ever wanted to be married and settled down at my age."

She let out a laugh. "You're right about that. I did have a damn good time, didn't I?"

She stopped in front of a kids’ clothing store. "Oh my god, would it be stupid if we just went in to have a peek?" She looked at me with wide eyes.

"Wow, you really do have baby fever. Holy crap, I didn't know it was this bad. Alright, let's go pick out adorable outfits for your future baby."

She clapped her hands together and strolled in, going right up to a rack of tiny frilly dresses. "See what I mean? This stuff is too freaking adorable. I would love to have a little girl to dress up and wear matching outfits with."

I had to agree. The stuff was cute, and it would be fun to be an aunt. I had never seen Freya like this before. "What would you name her?" I asked, just to see if she had already thought about names.

  "Allison," Freya responded automatically.

I looked at her with surprise. "That was a quick decision."

She held up another cute purple dress. "I've thought about it before, yes. I've always liked the name."

  "I like that name, too."

Suddenly her expression changed and she put the dress back. "Let's get out of here," she said, her voice cracking. I knew better than to protest. She didn't cry often, but when she did, it was not pretty. For such a beautiful woman, Freya had a downright ugly cry.

I put my arm around her and walked her out. "It's alright," I said. "You still have time to decide."

She blinked back tears, and I was determined to make sure she didn't cry in public. "I know. I just…get emotional when I think about it. I don't know why. I can't explain it and I've never been like this before."

She pulled out a pair of sunglasses and put them on, just in case.

"Oh, Frey," I hugged her. "I can't wait for us both to have babies, they're going to be the best of friends. It'll happen one day, I just know it."

"I hope so," she agreed. "You're the best sister, ever." She brightened up for a moment, a smile spreading across her face. "How fun would it be if we got to have them together? Like our wedding?" She looked way too excited.

"Don't count on it," I told her. "I have plenty of time. My eggs aren't rotting away yet, don't you put your own deadlines on me." I knew I could tease her now that she was smiling. It was just what sisters did to each other.

She stuck her tongue out at me. "Oh, come on. You know it would be fun. Getting all fat together, taking childbirth classes together, going shopping for baby stuff. We'd have the best time ever."

I couldn't help but smile. She did have a point, but I wasn't going to admit it.

As soon as I walked in the door, I knew that Blake was already home and was cooking. The smell of bacon and onions sautéing in a pan wafted into the living room from the kitchen, and normally my mouth would be watering, but for some reason, the smell of the sizzling meat turned my stomach. Maybe the salad I had for lunch had turned me off to eating bacon fat for dinner, but that didn't seem likely. I always went crazy for anything with bacon in it.

"Hey, sweetie," I said, throwing my bag on a chair and coming up behind Blake to kiss him.

"Hey there, sexy," he said, turning around to kiss me. "How was the mall?"

"We had fun," I said. I had texted him earlier to let him know where I was going. Blake and I had a great relationship like that. Neither of us insisted on knowing where the other was at all times, but we often told each other anyway, just out of respect and consideration. I liked the fact that he didn't insist on knowing every detail of my whereabouts, but that very thing made me want to keep him in the loop about what I did with my day.

"Although, Freya was in a bit of a mood." I scrunched my nose again at the smell, ignoring the growing feeling of nausea that was festering in my gut.

  "E
verything okay, or was she just being her dramatic-self?" He asked, sprinkling some salt in the pan.

"Oh, she's fine. She has baby fever," I said with a smile.

Blake laughed. "Well, her and Eric would make good parents, I'm sure. And you'd make a hot aunt."

I laughed. "That's what I said," I joked. "Hey, thanks for cooking dinner. Do you mind if I go wait in the other room? I think the onions are bothering me."

"Sure,” he kissed me again on the cheek. "I'll call you when the food is ready and we'll eat. You're hungry, right?"

"Yeah," I said, my stomach growling. Even though, I had just eaten that big salad a few hours ago, I was hungry again. Dinner sounded good as long as I could stop myself from puking over the smell.

I went upstairs and plopped down on our bed to read for a while with the door shut so the smell wouldn't come through. I couldn't focus on the book, though. I kept thinking about the conversation Freya and I had at the mall. I hadn't really given much thought to being a mother lately but she had a point when she talked about how much fun a baby would be.

I’d always known I wanted to have one someday.

Would that day come sooner rather than later? Maybe I should bring this up with Blake soon. It's something that we should be talking about, and planning for.

I smiled when I thought of how our son would look. He’s be a miniature version of Blake. That man would produce an adorable baby boy. I knew it.

The door opened and Blake poked his head in. "Dinner is ready," he said, eyeing my spread out on the bed. He came all the way in and shut the door behind him. "But now that I think of it, I might want an appetizer."

I smiled, enjoying the way he was looking at me. I knew what was coming and I was all for it. He leaned down on top of me and kissed me.

"Mmm, how do you always taste so good?" He said between kisses. "Like vanilla and your own special flavor that I can't put a name to."

I giggled and he ran his hands over my breasts through my shirt, then slid his hand underneath and grasped my breast under my bra, running his finger over my nipple.

I gasped at how good that felt. I wanted more. I pulled my shirt and bra off in one swift motion, offering up my tits for him to suck on. His eyes widened and he lowered his mouth onto my hard nipple, softly biting it and flicking his tongue over it. An electric current ran from my tit to my pussy, making me immediately wet. My nipples were so damn sensitive today, and his sucking felt so good. I closed my eyes, enjoying his kneading hand and soft lips teasing my breasts, going from one to the other.

I could feel his hard cock straining to be let loose from his jeans, and I did him the favor of pulling his belt buckle loose and undoing his zipper, letting the poor thing out. He groaned in appreciation as I took his cock in my hand, spreading his pre-cum over his tip.

"Fuck me, please," I cooed, petting his head as he sucked on my tits.

He didn't have to be asked twice, and he swiftly pulled my pants and panties down all at once and then mounted me.

"You're so fucking wet for me," he growled, easily sliding himself inside into me.

I closed my eyes and moaned and then settled in for the ride. I still loved it every single time that he stuck his thick cock inside me. He felt like heaven, and I knew he was the only man I would ever need. "Yeah, yes, keep going," I encouraged him, spreading my legs wide.

"You're so fucking gorgeous and sexy," he whispered. "I love you."

"I love you, too," I cooed, digging my nailed into his back as he rocked back and forth. "I want you to cum in me so bad."

He growled, picking up speed. "If you say that one more time, I am going to explode in your tight pussy right now. Don't you kid around with me, baby."

I watched the sweat glistening on his gorgeous chest. I wanted all that he had to give me. I hadn't felt this horny in a long time, and that was saying a lot because I always wanted him so badly. "I don't care. Do it. Cum in me, baby. I want you," I begged, gripping his ass as he pounded into me.

"Argh," he growled, his face twisting into that orgasmic look that I loved being the cause of. I felt his cock thicken and twitch, and then the warm sensation of his hot seed hitting my inner walls. The heat and rhythm of his orgasm caused my own to crest and I opened my mouth with a moan as the pleasure soared through my body.

"God, you're fucking hot," Blake said, letting his semi-hard cock slip out of me. "You know you can't tempt me like that and expect me to hold back, right?" He smoothed my hair down, kissing my jawline. "You did it a couple weeks ago when you swore you weren't fertile, but I don't think that's very safe, unless you don't mind. I don't, if you don't."

I loved the way his stubble felt against my smooth skin. "I know and I don't care. I want you. All of you."

"But what about what might happen in here?" he asked, rubbing my abdomen. "You want me to put a baby in you, Jasmine? Because that's what's going to happen if you keep asking me to cum in you. That flat belly of yours is going to swell and these are going to swell-" he groped my breasts "- and you will be a mommy. Is that what you want? I'll give you a baby if you want one."

He’d never asked me that before, not like that, and the way he said it made it sound like the sexiest thing ever. Yes, I wanted him to fertilize the hell out of every egg that I had in there. I looked into his eyes, feeling so in love with him, and I found myself nodding "yes."

He laid down next to me and put his arm around me, running his fingers through my hair. "I love hearing you say that, because I think you would make an amazing mother. Not to mention, I think you'd look super hot as a pregnant woman."

I giggled. "You're crazy. I'll be huge and my back will hurt and I'll have swollen feet," I said.

"No," he corrected me. "You'll have a perfectly round belly, rosy cheeks, swollen breasts and I already know you will look sexy. Believe me, I have thought about it plenty.”

"What? Are you serious?" I propped myself up on an elbow, looking him in the eye.

"Yes, I'm serious. Do you think I’d have married you if I didn't want to get you pregnant?" He asked.

"Well, I don't know, but I didn't know you had, like, a thing for pregnant women."

"I don't, just for you." He kissed my shoulder.

I sighed, looking away for a minute, a small smile on my lips. I liked where this conversation was going. "Do you really think I would make a good mom?" I asked. "I didn't have the best role model."

"That's why I know you would be excellent at it," Blake said. "You know what not to do. That's half the battle."

"You're right about that. I've always wanted to have a baby so I could be the mom that I never had to someone else." The thought of it gave me butterflies, in a good way. I went on. "Freya and I were looking at baby clothes at the mall today," I blurted out.

When he gave me a surprised look, I added, "Just for fun. I did like it, though. I just don't know if we're ready."

Blake looked into the distance. "I don't think anybody ever is. But with the way the store is going and the new house, I don't see a reason why we couldn't have one whenever you want to."

"Really?" I asked, my eyes sparkling.

He nodded, brushing my hair out of my face. My mind went to the discussion I had with my sister about how fun it would be to have our kids together. Maybe it would be possible, after all. For now, though, I was hungry for dinner.

Blake had the same idea. "We should go downstairs and eat before the food gets cold. I'll bring you back up here and maybe have some dessert later." He touched me between the legs, indicating that he wanted me for dessert.

"Okay," I said, pressing my tickled thighs together and pulling on a robe. "We have plenty of time to discuss the details, right? No rush."

"Of course, honey," Blake said, kissing my cheek. "No rush at all. I just want to be with you, the rest doesn't matter to me at all."

I had married the best man in the world, and as I followed him downstairs, my stomach churned again at the smell. He might be a wonderful man, but he wa
sn't exactly the best chef.

  One Week Later…

I rinsed my mouth in the bathroom sink after the unpleasant experience of throwing up my entire breakfast. It was already noon and I hadn't gotten anything done all morning due to whatever this awful stomach bug was doing in my intestines.

I spit out the mouth rinse and went into the kitchen to make myself some tea. If I still felt like this tomorrow, I was going to have to see a doctor. I hated doctor visits but my stomach hadn't been right ever since I ate that food court salad last week. Maybe I should call Freya and warn her not to eat there again. I had hoped that this feeling would go away, but if anything, it had gotten worse. I had too much to do to be throwing up. I’d already done enough internet searches in an attempt to diagnose my own food poisoning but nothing seemed to fit the bill. I was getting nauseous but was still hungry all the time.

My body wasn't making any sense. Maybe Freya would know what to do. She was always good with this kind of a thing, and had taken care of me plenty of times when I was sick as a child.

I set my tea down when there was a knock on the door. I wasn't in the mood for sales people or whoever else was trying to bother me while I was feeling unwell. When I looked through the door and saw Freya instead, I was surprised.

"What are you doing here?" I asked.

She pushed past me and threw herself down on the couch, removing her sunglasses to reveal eyes that looked like they hadn’t been shut properly in a few nights. "I'm freaking out and I need your help," she said, pulling a brown bag from the pharmacy out of her purse.

"What is it?" I asked, concerned. "Are you sick or something?"

"No," she shook her head violently. "I'm late."

I gave her a blank stare. "You're always late to everything, what's new?"

"No, you moron! I'm fucking late! My period!"

Oh. "Oh, shit," I said out loud. "Do you think…?"

"I don't know and I'm too afraid to find out." She covered her face with her hands. I took the bag from her and dumped its contents on the coffee table. Three pregnancy tests tumbled out.
