“Then do it. Make love to me forever.”
“I think I will.”
I hope you do, Noah.
His thrusts become stronger as we both hold on to each other tightly. Now it feels as though we’re climbing. The pressure is so great that I don’t know how I’ll survive the fall. All I can do is hope Noah will hold me like he did when we fell earlier into the water. Hope that he’ll hold me and I won’t drown.
With each push, the building pressure increases. Sweat gathers at his temple and his arms hold me to almost a crushing point. “Oh God.” He reaches down and hikes my leg up. The new friction and angle sends a new wave of sensation through my body. I gasp and dig my nails into Noah’s skin. We both release a moan and hold onto each other as we finally leap off the edge. We dive down into each other in a kiss.
Noah holds me as we finally come back to the surface. Our chests rise and fall as we lay sideways facing each other. The skies above begin to darken. And like those dark, looming clouds, we know our time has officially run out.
On the drive home, we try to be normal, but there’s a rising tension between us. When we’re almost to the house, Noah connects to Blutooth. “Don’t You Forget About Me” begins. We both burst out singing. I’m between laughing and crying by the time it’s over, and we pull into my driveway. Raindrops fall on the windshield as we finish the song, even after he puts the truck in park. When it’s over, we stare into each other’s eyes, and reality slams into me that I won’t see him for a long time. We reach for each other at the same time and pour all our emotions into the kiss.
He pulls away and bows his head. “I have to go.”
I nod my head and sniffle. He looks into my eyes and rubs his thumb along my jaw. “I love you.”
I give him another quick kiss, and whisper against his lips, “I love you.”
Leaning in again, I kiss him with everything I have. Slowly, I pull away and get out of the truck. The light sprinkle wets my hair, but I don’t care. I watch and listen as he starts the song again and lowers his truck windows. I can still hear it as he turns out of the driveway.
I go into the house and finish what little was left to pack. As I pack, a smile stretches across my face. I know most freshmen claim to be on a journey of self-discovery, but I’m on a new journey for the third time it seems.
“I knew who I was this morning, but I’ve changed a few times since then.” I pack the painting I had brought from Colorado, along with my pencil sketch of my spot with Noah. I wrote another quote from Alice in Wonderland on this one as well.
“It’s no use going back to yesterday because I was a different person then.”
Before I leave, I go by to see Rita one last time. I walk into her office, and hand her my sketch pad. She smiles at the fully drawn portrait. I watch as her eyes move to the corner. A smile stretches across her face as she reads. Alice Randall
Olivia Stevens and Sarah Randall are the names of girls I used to know. Hello, my name is Alice Randall.

THE NIGHT
That Changed Rachel
Worth a Shot
One simple run-in got me more than I bargained for...and now I can’t go back. It might be dangerous, but it might just be worth a shot.
Victoria Angel…
It was just a cup of coffee…that’s all I was after.
Some much-needed caffeine to get me through wedding dress shopping. That’s it. But I guess the universe had other plans. How do I go from getting coffee to waking up in the hospital after being involved in a drive-by?
And how does my mysterious hero go from taking a bullet for me to getting arrested and put in prison?
His last name is Goodman, but according to the police, he’s not at all a good man. However, it feels as though fate brought us together. The police don’t agree…and my fiancé definitely doesn’t either.
Tristan Goodman…
She thinks I’m her hero, which couldn’t be further from the truth. Because of the business that I’m in and the people I surround myself with, there’s always a target on my back, and anyone associated with me is in the line of fire, including the quirky yet gorgeous Victoria Angel.
I’ve brought nothing but danger to her life the minute she bumped into me in that coffee shop. I know she’s not mine, but that certainly doesn’t stop me from going after what I want. And what I want is an angel.
She’d be wise to end all contact with me, exactly like her fiancé wishes, but I can’t leave her alone…especially after I have a taste of heaven.

Gail Haris believes in fairytales, love, and laughter as the best medicine.
She was born and raised in a small town in the Midwest. After graduating with a degree in Mass Communications, Gail went on adventures traveling in America and Europe.
Her favorite adventures still are the ones where she gets lost in a good book.
Her love for reading and traveling lead her to attend book conventions. Those conventions gave her the encouragement she needed to combine her passion for creativity and storytelling. Using coffee and her imagination she loves writing contemporary romances that blend laughter and true love out of everyday chaos.
When Gail isn’t day dreaming in front of her computer, she’s busy raising her two daughters with the man of her dreams. She loves traveling with her family and friends, binge watching television series with her husband, singing Disney songs with her daughters, and having huge family and friends get-togethers that involve lots of food and usually a cake.
She hopes by following her own dream of becoming an author, she can set an example to her daughters that dreams can become reality. Maybe she can encourage you too.
Never stop believing in love, dreams, and yourself. And coffee…don’t give up on coffee.
