Chapter 20
It was time she stood on her own two feet. Her leg was still a bit sore, but, as she swung her legs over the edge of the bed and put more and more weight on it, she was pleased to find that the pain had diminished considerably. Despite the plastic cast, she was able to hobble around.
She stood, and though there was a dull ache at the back of her leg, she was able to slowly make her way down the stairs. Even from a distance, she could hear them arguing.
“I tell you, she said she wanted me to be there for her every day.”
“That’s impossible. She told me she’d enjoy my cooking every day of her life. I can feed her heart, feed her spirit and feed her belly. I’m the complete package.”
“You’re both wrong. She very distinctly said that she wanted to spend the rest of her life with me.”
Quietly, Lux made her way to the kitchen to find them all having breakfast and coffee, while discussing her.
“There you all are,” she said, avoiding their topic of conversation. “I’ve been ringing you for an hour.”
Horrified, they all moved to stand, but Lux quickly put her hand up. “Calm down, guys. I’m kidding.” She raised her leg and pointed to her foot. “Look. I can stand on my own.”
“That’s great,” Asher said as he pulled a chair back for her. “But don’t overdo it. You lost a lot of blood to the point you almost died.”
Lux’s mouth dropped in surprise. She didn’t know how serious her condition was.
“We didn’t want to worry you, Lux,” Brax said. “We just wanted you to rest and recover so we didn’t tell you.”
“You had all of us so worried and scared for you for the first couple of days until you stopped bleeding,” Lucas said.
“That’s why Lucas and I couldn’t go back to Shadowlight Hunters Academy with our mom. We needed to keep an eye on you, Lux. Plus, we couldn’t bear to go with you in such a condition,” Sully said.
“If I knew you would be so near death after giving me your angelic blood to heal me, I would have refused it, Lux. I would never jeopardize your life for me. I’d rather die than have you give up your life for me, Lux,” Moore said.
“I can’t even express how grateful I am that you pulled me out of hell and gave me a chance to become human again, Lux,” Romeo said. “When no one else believed in the slight possibility of good in me, or the human in me, you did.”
“You died trying to save me once,” Brax said, “when you fought Obsidian the first time at Shadowlight Academy. This time, you survived, but you again risked your life to save us all.”
“What Brax is trying to say for us all,” Moore said, “Is we all love you very much and want to be with you. But all of us think you’ve made your choice already. As much as each of us want to be the chosen one, we keep hearing you’ve chosen someone other than us. We want to know who you chose, Lux?”
She sat at the table with them and accepted the cup of coffee Lucas brought her.
“Is it true, Lux?” Sully said. “Did you tell Brax that you have chosen him? That you want to spend the rest of your life with him.”
“Or did you tell Moore that you wanted to be with him forever?” Romeo said.
“But you told me that you loved being with me,” Asher said.
“Guys,” Lux said. “Please. I’ve just gotten out of bed on my own for the first time in days. I’m not ready for all this.”
They all looked at her for a long silent moment, anxious and frustrated. Lux took a few sips of her hot coffee, then set the cup down and looked at each of them.
“What?” she said softly.
“Don’t you think it’s time?” Brax asked.
Lux looked for a distraction, a change of subject, but quickly realized there was no avoiding it.
“Come on, Lux,” Brax said. “You have to choose.”
“We don’t want to pressure you, Lux, but it’s driving us guys crazy,” Lucas said.
“I guess there’s no point putting it off any longer,” Lux said as she exhaled a long deep breath.
“Before you say anything, Lux,” Asher said. “I hope you realize just how much I love you. I would do anything for you.”
“No more than I would,” Romeo said.
“Ridiculous,” Brax said. “She knows that I love her more than life itself. I’ve proven that.”
“Sorry,” Romeo said. “I’m the one who proved that.”
“Guys!” Lux shouted. “Guys! This is not a competition. This is not a game. This is my heart. I have no doubt that each and every one of you love me, cherish me and would do anything to protect me. I’ve seen that. I’ve been with all of you long enough. I know that you are all good men, and any woman would be lucky to have any of you for life.”
“So, what are you saying?” Sully said. “Are you going to make a choice?”
“Actually, no,” Lux said. “I’m not going to choose. I’m going to ask you to choose.”
Baffled, they just stared at her.
“I love all of you. You all have something that draws me to you, that amuses me, interests me. I can’t imagine living my life without you… all of you. So, the choice is this; do you want to be a part of my life, or don’t you?”
“Are you asking us to share you, Lux?” Lucas asked.
“Not me, but my life. I’m asking you all to share my whole life with me. I’m asking you to share my days… my nights. I want you to share my joys and my grief. My bed…Everything. But if any of you are uncomfortable with the thought, if you don’t think you’ll be able to live with everyone else… I’ll understand.”
The guys all looked at one another, nodding, smiling, analyzing. Then, one by one, they turned to Lux and smiled.
“I’m in,” Brax and Asher said.
“Me, too,” added Moore, Romeo and Sully.
Lucas nodded and smiled. “I can’t give you up, Lux, even if I have to share. I’m in.”
Epilogue
Once the cast was finally taken off her calf, Lux was a bundle of pent up energy. She had a desperate need to get out of the house and do something productive.
With the guys all out taking care of their individual tasks, she walked out to the drive and took one of the many sports cars in Brax’s large multi-car garage and headed into town.
She felt the change as she walked down the city street, going from store to store, idly shopping. The sun was brighter, people smiled more and there was an underlying peacefulness that had never been there before.
With a sudden desire to celebrate everything that was happening in her life. She spent the next few hours shopping then headed home to prepare the special banquet she had in mind.
With the huge dinner ready, she called them down to the formal dining room.
“What’s going on?” Sully said.
Lux looked up to seem him dressed in a caramel colored silk suit. Behind him was Lucas wearing a more somber but fashionable dark blue suit. Moore arrived, all in classic black while Brax wore a leather tan jacket over black slacks. Romeo had also chosen black; a black tuxedo with a black bowtie over a pristine white shirt. And Asher, all in the purest white.
“Yeah,” Moore said. “Why did you ask that we dress up?”
She came to them, her elegant organza red gown clinging modestly to her body, showing all her curves without overexposing them.
“As you can see, I’m all better now,” she said, setting the tips of her fingers on the edge of the dinner table. She waved her hand over the table. “Please, come sit down.”
They each took a seat and took a sip of the wine already poured into all their glasses.
“I thought I should let you know,” Lux said, standing at the head of the table. “I feel better than ever; stronger than ever. From that perspective, I don’t need you guys to tend to me. I no longer need you to give me a bath, or bandage my wounds or read to me.”
“What are you saying, Lux?” Sully said nervously. “You don’t want us around anymore?”
Lux chuckled and shook her head. “No. I said that I don’t need you anymore; in the capacity that you guys have helped me while I was injured. But I want to make it clear. In fact, I want to make it official. I want you guys here. I want you all in my life.”
She looked at them, her gaze going from one to the other, then she scanned the elegantly set table. Above the gold trimmed china, above the crystal stemware, a small jewelry box was set in front of each of them.
“Please open the box I’ve put in front of each of you.”
They all reached for the small box and flipped it open to find a gold ring adorned with a black diamond surrounded by a ring of white diamonds.
“There is a bond that holds us all together,” she said. “I want you to take these rings as a token of my love for you, my devotion to you and my promise to make our lives happy, harmonious and wonderful.”
Brax was the first to pull the ring out of the box and slip it on his finger. “It’s fabulous, Lux.”
The others followed, each slipping the ring on.
Moore was the last to slip the ring on. He stood and looked to Lux. “I’d like to propose a toast,” he said as he raised his glass of wine. “I’d be lost without you, Lux. I was on a disastrous path before I met you, and I know that I’m not the only one. You saved me. Not just with the blood you gave to save my life, but you saved my soul.” He raised his glass higher. “To Lux. To the love, happiness and joy we are sure to enjoy for many years to come.”
“To Lux!” they all said.
As each of the men around Lux made a toast to her, Lux looked adoringly at them, seeing how each had become men instead of the bad boys they were when she first met them. They were the loves of her life, as she was theirs. She’d do anything for them, and they would for her.
No matter what the future, no matter if there would be more battles as the one at Kingsley Portal, they would be there for her…her pretty lost boys, her beautiful boys, who were once cursed but now blessed.
For now, life with them was a dream…and as warriors and slayers like them…a time for peace, celebration, living, and love.
Until the next big battle…

Cruel Princes of Wyvern
All-Boys Academy
When I received a royal decree from Queen Jade of the Emerald Realms to attend school at Wyvern School for Boys, I thought it was a prank pulled by my friend William who apprentices with me at the Blacksmith. There was no way I could attend such an elite school just for kings-to-be.
But it was a Royal Decree, and if I don't obey the Decree, there was a threat of death to me and to all I hold dear, which probably means William and his parents, Bilbo and Kate, the blacksmith and his wife, the alchemist, whom had let me stayed with them since I became an orphan.
To keep them safe. To keep me from losing my head, I packed up what little belongings I had and enrolled at Wyvern School for Boys.
Everything at Wyvern School for Boys was meant to intimidate. Being the only girl at a school of incredibly handsome boys, especially the Four Princes, was intimidating.
Not to mention the cutthroat competition that literally cuts students from the school.
I'm stuck in a hard place...either get killed by defying the Royal Decree and also get everyone I cared for, killed. Or stick it out at Wyvern School for Boys, despite all the bullying and cutthroat games Wyvern has in store for me.
Of course, there is no choice...I must survive Wyvern School for Boys, or die trying.
Did I mention this is a school for Dragons, too? I just have to watch out for the fire.
***The Cruel Princes of Wyvern Series for mature teens and up (17+) and is a paranormal dark fantasy bully romance reverse harem that will contain steamy and scorching scenes, dark fantasy elements, and consensual sex. This is a high school NA series.

The Shadowlight Academy Series
About the Series
Unlike many high school heroines in fantasy books, I always knew I was not ordinary. Far from it. Since I was two, I have been seeing angels and demons. Given the gift of battle as a warrior, my role as a slayer often interferes with my role as a normal girl. So no, I was never a typical girl who had just found out she was heir to some magical family or something like that. I've been "gifted" practically all my life. So when my ordinary family moved us to San Francisco to a new school where my father teaches, I didn't think much of the school. Shadowlight Academy, the most exclusive and posh prep academy for the super rich. I thought I would be there to slay the evil like an undercover superhero amongst the ordinary. I just didn't think the ordinary would all be extremely unordinary. Especially the three most popular kids in school. Then there's the hot brooding rebel boy who didn't seem to fit in, too. Everyone here has secrets, and I am determined to find out what, before it kills me...the entire Academy and even the world. Okay, I might be dramatizing a bit, but yes, from what I've barely seen...it could be that big. Better get my game gear on and my entire armor on, because this is going to be one epic battle. But who can I trust? The Beautiful Ones, which rule Shadowlight Academy is known to be both beautiful yet wicked. They're fascinated with me as I am of them. But who or what are they really, and why do I feel drawn to them like a fly to a spider? Can I escape their beautiful web before I am trapped forever? Do I want to?
*The Beautiful Boys is the first in a high school paranormal academy series for mature teens and up. Expect a tough heroine who can take on anyone and anything, with lots of steam literally and figuratively, and a reverse harem romance.
