Throwing Curves Page 4

He hands it to Danny, and I can see some gesturing going on while the security guard is telling him where the bag came from. Danny sees me, and I get a big smile. Out on the diamond, the Vandals get another guy on base. “Open it!” I mime to Danny, with excitement.

He pulls the tiny jersey out of the bag and stares at it for a second. Then looks at me, confused. I mime shaking the shirt out and looking at it, so he does that. He turns the little shirt around and sees BROADWAY and his number on the back, then looks at me. Back at the newborn-size shirt. Back at me. Questions in his eyes.

I nod and pat my belly.

His jaw drops. And then his teammates pound him on the back, offering congratulations.

The Vandals win. Danny gets the pitching credit for it. It’s a successful night all around.

And then he gets to come home. He comes upstairs to our bedroom and holds me so tight I can’t breathe.

“You’re happy then?” I ask, just to clarify.

  He nods.

  “I am too.”

He shakes his head ruefully. “It’s amazing. The first time I saw you, your curves threw me for a loop. Looks like you’re going to get even curvier. Damn, woman, I’m not going to be able to keep my hands off you.”

“Well, put them on me now,” I suggest, and we spend the rest of the night touching. Kissing. Having the kind of sex that is more naked than naked, totally open to each other. Sharing our love.

  Totally worth it.

Short sweet steamy alpha-male/curvy-girl enemies-to-lovers romance. No cheating, no cliffhanger, always an HEA. This is an introduction to the Dogwood Falls series, and it is NOT AVAILABLE ON AMAZON.

Former bad-boy Drew Seaforth comes back to his small hometown in the North Carolina mountains after spending eight years in the Army, to take over his dad's auto service business. He drops in to his old hangout, only to find that it's now Andie's Candies, and it's packed with customers.

Andie herself is Andrea Schubert, the girl whose junior prom he ruined, without meaning to, and she's never forgiven him. These days, Andie is a curvaceous beauty with lots of confidence. Every second they spend in each other's company sizzles with mutual attraction, and Drew wants her more than ever. Can he convince her to give him more than a taste of her love?

  Coming Soon!

Want to read the story of Luis and Adera, his Girl Next Door? It’s coming soon in PERFECT CATCH, the third book in this series.

  Luis:

I'm having a super season, as part of the Rivertown Rowdies' starting battery. That might be mostly because my pitcher and good friend, Danny Broadway, is having the best season of his life. Danny's young, and sooner or later the ball club will call him up to the majors (sooner, if my guess is correct). But what happens to me then? I'm pushing twenty-eight -- and catchers' knees take a lot of punishment. Can I still hack it?

And why can't I get the feisty, gorgeous, curvy girl who lives next door in my apartment complex off my mind?

  Adera:

I'm just trying to make my way as a child court advocate, sharing an apartment with my beautiful friend Violet. Violet's always got guys hanging off her generous curves, but me? I'm shy.

When I bump into a fantastically-muscled man in the apartment's laundry room, it's because he has my freshly-laundered pink lace panties draped over his face. I'm used to having guys make fun of the size of my butt, but this is so humiliating I burst into tears. And then when he yanks them off his face, we're both horrified to find out that we live next door to each other.

What started in the laundry room was far from perfect . . . but just maybe we're right for each other.

Pre-order now for release on June 26!
