Jones smiled and replied, “My partner has a friend in the FBI. He calls in a favor every now and then.”
“This means that Parker Lennie was in Memphis the day Justine was killed. If his plane left Memphis at 7:30, he wouldn’t get to New York until 9 PM, which was about the time his butler said he got home. But his brother said they both left the office around 7 PM, which would be impossible if Parker was in Memphis.” Harry said.
“I’m sure that Parker’s pilot didn’t joyride to Memphis. Someone was on that plane, and we need to find that person,” Jones replied.
“Well, I suppose we have to pay Jimmy Lennie another visit,” Jones said.

Jimmy Lennie wasn’t surprised to see Detective Harry and Detective Jones. He had been counting on seeing them again to get feedback on the investigation into his brother’s death.
“You told me you and your brother had been in the office all day, and he left the office at 7 PM the night he died?” Harry asked in a suspicious tone.
“That is correct,” Jimmy replied, confused at the question.
“Your brother had a private jet, right?”
“Yes, he does,” Jimmy replied, not understanding the essence of the question. “What does that has to do with his death?” Jimmy asked.
“Parker’s jet was in Memphis the day Justine Gray was murdered,” Harry replied.
Jimmy looked confused. “I can’t remember Parker flying to Memphis the day he died,” Jimmy said.
“How many people have access to Parker’s jet?” Harry asked.
“Parker, me, and Rebecca,” Jimmy replied.
The room was quiet for some minutes before Harry broke the silence. “You said your brother told you he wanted to get a divorce?” Harry asked.
“Yes he did,” Jimmy replied.
“Was Rebecca aware that Parker wanted a divorce?”
“I’m not sure, but I think she did.”
“Do you know if Parker ever began the divorce process?” Harry asked.
“I’m not sure, but I think he did because he said he wanted to be free to be with someone else,” Jimmy replied.
“Do you know where Rebecca stayed when she moved out of the mansion?”
“She lived at the Parker’s penthouse. She still stays there.”
Harry asked for the address, and Jimmy left and returned with a piece of paper after a few minutes.
Detective Harry thanked Jimmy Lennie, and Jimmy walked Harry and Jones to the door. Harry stopped at the door and said, “Jimmy, I want to ask you something very confidential, and the answer could be important in solving Parker’s death.” Harry paused for a second to contemplate his question. “Did Rebecca sign a prenuptial agreement?”
Jimmy hesitated for some moments before answering, “Yes, she did,” he replied.
“One more question, do you know if Parker had a will?”
“Yes, he did. It is going to be read after his burial.”
“Do you think Rebecca is in it?”
“Yes, of course. She had been married to Parker for five years,” Jimmy replied. He suddenly realized Harry’s suspicion, and there was a shock on his face. He wanted to ask Harry if he thought that Rebecca killed his brother, but before he could speak, Harry and Jones already left.
In the car, Jones said, “Do you think she did it?”
“Parker wanted a divorce, which meant that she was going to walk out of a five-year marriage almost empty-handed because she signed a prenup. They had no children, and she most likely had knowledge of her husband’s will. She also had access to Parker’s private jet. She may have found out about the affair and learned about Justine’s identity and the mansion in Memphis. And according to Jimmy, only three people have direct access to Parker’s jet. And since Parker and Jimmy were not on the plane, that leaves us with only one option, and she was the last person to see him alive,” Harry said.
“It was a well-planned crime,” Jones said. “Justine’s murder would have most likely been ruled as a home invasion, and if by chance the secret of the affair became public and the investigation led to Parker, he would have been dead. The gun would have been proved that Parker had killed his lover and killed himself.”
“And the private jet would have proved that Parker was in Memphis the day Justine was murdered. Plus, the CCTV footage from Justine’s apartment didn’t reveal the identity of the killer. So the affair, the gun, and the jet would have been enough evidence that Parker killed Justine and then killed himself.
“Do you want us to pay her a visit?” Jones asked.
“There is one thing we need to find out before paying her a visit,” Harry replied and drove off.
CHAPTER 13
Fifth precinct, New York Police Department
12 PM September 20th
Detective Harry Rogers knew that there was no way for him to access the security footage of the penthouse Mrs. Rebecca Lennie lived in without obtaining a warrant. Moreover, there was a huge chance that Rebecca would find out if he went through the usual channels. So Harry put in a call to one of his contacts at the NSA to help him hack into the penthouse security database and access the security footage from September 14th, the day Parker and Justine died.
“How were you able to get this footage?” Jones asked. He held Harry’s phone, and in it was security footage of a person wearing the exact clothes the person the CCTV camera at Justine’s mansion had captured. The person was walking into the elevator of the penthouse some minutes after 9 PM, and about thirty minutes later, Rebecca emerged from the elevator.
“I have a friend at the NSA. I guess that is one of the perks of attending Harvard. Besides, I couldn’t risk getting a warrant and having her finding out and deleting the footage.”
“This puts her at the scene of both Justine and Parker’s deaths,” Jones said.
“I think it is time we pay Mrs. Rebecca Lennie a visit,” Harry replied.

Detective Rogers and Detective Jones stood next to each other as they waited for Rebecca Lennie to answer the bell. Rebecca Lennie opened the door, and Harry saw the apprehension in her face as she saw them.
“Rebecca Lennie, you are under arrest as a suspect in the death of Parker Lennie.”
“And also for the death of Justine Gray,” Jones added.
As Harry led Rebecca Lennie out of the building, he thought that it wasn’t a bad final case after all.
