“No, my love. It is all you. You are patient with me and even when I still react with sharp claws at times, you calm me and continue to love me and show me what it means to be adored. I know all of our children will find their partners in life and marry for love, and we will continue to bask in our bliss with so much blessing bestowed upon us.” Elizabeth replied. “From the first time I landed on your lap to my last breath, I will love you forever.”
“I love you, Elizabeth.” Darcy softly replied and smiled. “Shall we go see if our daughter is ready for her big day? She will be Mrs. George Gardiner today and I know your dear cousin has been waiting all his life to marry a Darcy, even if the first woman he adored was my sister all those years ago!”
Elizabeth laughed, “Oh, yes! He has loved Dianne for many years. I do believe Louis is interested in marrying into the Bingley family next. Aunt Madeline is still in disbelief that Charlotte will be countess someday with her marriage to the viscount. Soon, all of her children will be married off.”
Darcy chuckled, “My cousin Anthony had to have a stern word with his son when he fell in love with Charlotte but spouted all that nonsense about family duty and connections. My young cousin had to overcome many prejudices about marrying the daughter of a solicitor but Anthony knew I would have beaten him with a rod if he broke dear Charlotte’s heart. I love her like a daughter and I am most happy to be gaining George as a son.” He stood and cradled his wife’s cheeks. “I love you, Elizabeth Darcy. All I am, everything I have, nothing matters if you are not by my side. I can face anything in life with you and I treasure you.”
“I love you, William. Although I am infinitely glad you were not a criminal, even when I thought you a murderer in London, I still fell in love with your gentle heart and caring soul.” Elizabeth replied. “Let us begin our next chapter in life together. We must continue our matchmaking to get all of our children married off, not to mention our nieces and cousins! We have much to do and we cannot waste our talents by being lackadaisical. We will soon have grandchildren to care for and our duties will never be complete.”
Darcy laughed loudly as he spun his wife in circles. “As you wish, my queen. As you wish.”
They left the study arm in arm with large grins on their faces. There would be no doubt to anyone who saw them together that their love was as strong and eternal, and this would only be the beginning of many celebrations to come.
