“You got everything you need?” I asked Parker after helping her load a fuckin’ shitload of flowers into the church, then the reception venue.

  “Yeah,” she said distractedly.

  “Mouse is hangin’ with you.”

“What? Why?” she asked, now wholly focused on me.

“Need to do somethin’.” I smiled, leaning down to kiss her but she covered my mouth with her fingers.

  “What?” she asked.

I kissed her fingers, then moved her hand. “Club business.”

“What. Are. You. Doing?” she insisted.

“I’ll tell you when I’m done.”

“Zane McCormick, are you doing something dangerous?”

“No,” I said. She narrowed her eyes and I smiled. “Promise. Give me a kiss and don’t fuck with Mouse.”

“Why can’t I mess with Mouse?”

  “He’s here on Alamo’s orders,” I said.

“Why is Alamo in this at all?”

“Because he’s the boss, Pebbles, you know this.”

“He’s not the boss of me.” She wrinkled her nose and was so fuckin’ adorable, I wanted to drag her into an alcove and fuck her.

“It’s cute you think that,” I retorted. “But regardless, he’s one of your best friends, so let’s just leave it at that, yeah? He wants Mouse on you when I’m not and I’ve got shit to do.”

  “Is Mouse as good as—”

“Don’t even finish that sentence,” I warned.

“What?” She wrinkled her nose. “I was going to ask if Mouse was as good at carrying heavy things as you are.”

  “Sure, you were.”

She rolled her eyes. “When will you be done?”

  “Don’t know.”

Parker let out a little huff. “Rabbit, you need to give me something.”

  “I will. When I’m done.”

She waved her hand in irritation. “Which will be...?”

  I chuckled. “When I’m done.”

She let out a frustrated groan, gripping my cut. “If you get yourself blown up again, you and I are going to have a problem.”

I stroked her cheek. “I’m not doin’ anything dangerous, Parker.”

“You weren’t when you got blown up, either.”

I sighed. She had me there. “I won’t get blown up again.”

“Thank you. Now go so you can come back quicker.”

I kissed her and walked to my bike, heading to the barn where I found Doom waiting for me in the kitchen.

  “He downstairs?” I asked.

  “Yeah.”

“You left him for me, right?”

“Yeah, brother. He’s all yours, but I’m gonna be at your back for insurance.”

I nodded and he followed me into the basement where Joseph Fines was duct taped to a metal chair. I smiled while the kid stared up at me with terrified eyes.

“Hey, Joey,” I said, good-naturedly. “How’s your day been?”

He couldn’t answer me because his mouth was duct taped shut.

“Well, it’s about to get better,” I continued. “For me.”

I reached over and tore the tape off his mouth, eliciting a whimper from him.

  Pussy.

“Oh, was that a little rough?” I asked. “I apologize. Oh, wait, no I don’t.” I pulled my arm back and slammed my fist into his face, although, I pulled my punch since I wanted him to stay coherent.

“What the fuck?” Joey screamed. “You can’t do this to me.”

  “Who says?”

“Sugar Bear. You better stop, dickhead.”

Sugar Bear was the president of the local chapter of the Spiders and a royal pain in everyone’s ass. Joey was Sugar Bear’s brother-in-law, and had been helped out of a sticky situation with law enforcement by Doom’s woman, Lyric.

Only, Joey was taking that help for granted.

“We’re just gettin’ started, asshole,” I hissed. “There was an agreement. One that was airtight. Are you telling me that Sugar Bear’s reneging on that?”

The club had made a pact—more specifically, Lyric and Sugar Bear’s old lady, Tammy, had made a pact—not to touch women and children, and Sugar Bear had agreed to it. If Joey was doing this, it was on someone else’s orders.

  “Fuck you,” Joey spat out.

“Not my type,” I growled, slamming my fist into his face again, then into his belly.

  “Brother,” Doom warned.

“What?” I growled, turning to glare at him.

Doom nodded toward Joey. “He’s out.”

“Goddammit!” I roared, dragging my hands through my hair.

“What’s your end goal with this?” Doom asked.

“I want the cancer fuckin’ gone, Doom,” I ground out. “This is bullshit.”

“Killin’ Joey’s not gonna get that done, brother.”

  I sighed. “I know.”

“We need to cut the head of the snake off,” Doom continued. “Find out who the fuck this Beast person is and bring them down.”

I crossed my arms. “And how do you propose we do that, brother?”

“You’re the genius, you tell me.”

  “Doom—”

“Fists aren’t gonna resolve this one, Rabbit. We need to be smarter than that.”

I dragged my hands over my face and nodded. He was right and he knew it, but I appreciated that he let me get a little aggression out despite that fact. “Did you grab his phone?”

Doom nodded, handing it to me. “What’s the plan?”

I nodded toward Joey. “I’ll tell you later.”

Doom understood my need for discretion as I hacked into Joey’s phone and downloaded spyware on it. I wanted to know where he went, who he talked to, and the details of every conversation he had.

I handed the phone back to Doom.

  “You good?” he asked.

  “For now.”

“Go take care of your woman, brother,” he suggested. “We’ll take care of Joey. Lyric wants to have a little conversation with him.”

  “Well, shit, he’s fucked.”

  Doom grinned. “Yeah.”

  “I’m gonna head out, then.”

Doom gave me a chin lift. “Later.”

I walked upstairs, stopped to check in with Doc, then headed to Parker’s Petals. As I rode, I couldn’t stop memories from flooding in, but this time, I let them come.

I was standing in the barn kitchen, getting ready to open a beer when my phone buzzed. I pulled it out, and seeing Parker’s name pop up on my screen, I answered. “Hey, Parker.”

  She whimpered out, “Rabbit?”

  “Pebbles, you okay?”

“No.” Parker sniffed, and my blood ran cold. Parker rarely cried. “I’m not sure.”

  “Where are you?”

“My place,” she said. “Can you come over, please?”

  “Yeah. Give me ten minutes.”

“Okay,” she whispered, and hung up.

“Hey, buddy,” Jasmine said, waltzing into the room.

“Any clue as to why your girl’s cryin’?”

“Watch your tone,” Alamo warned as he walked in behind Jasmine.

“He’s fine, Mo,” she said, then turned back to me with a frown. “Which girl?”

  “Parker,” I said.

  “No. Why?”

“She just called, blubbering and asking me to come over.”

“Well, shit,” she hissed. “She had a date.”

  I froze. “With?”

“Someone I told her not to go out with,” Jasmine lamented. “Which is probably why she called you and not me. He’s a total creep.”

I didn’t want to know anything else.

I headed out of the room, hearing Jasmine call, “Good luck,” as I shrugged on my jacket and walked to my bike.

I took a few deep breaths as I shoved my helmet on and started my bike. The last thing I needed to do was wreck, and I needed to focus as I rode over to Parker’s.

Pulling up to her duplex, I took the steps two at a time, then knocked on the door. I heard the chain and then Parker peeked out before pulling the door open.

  “What happened?”

“Come in,” she said, stepping back.

I walked inside and she closed and locked the door behind me. I focused on her, studying her face. Her eyes were red, but she also looked pissed off.

“What happened?” I asked, this time I gentled my tone.

“Okay, first, I shouldn’t have gone out with this guy. Jazz warned me and I feel like—”

  “Pebbles, what happened?”

She rolled the sleeve of her oversized sweatshirt up and I saw a nasty bruise forming on her arm. I took her hand and pulled her arm closer to me. “Did he do this?”

“Yes.” She rolled her sleeve back down. “We had a really nice dinner at the Chart House, and he wanted to come back here, I said no, and he was angry I didn’t ‘put out,’ considering he’d just dumped two large on dinner.”

  “He spent two-grand on dinner?”

“What?” Her eyes widened. “No. Two-hundred.”

I bit back a smile. “Two bills.”

  “Whatever! Focus, Rabbit.”

I slid my hand to her neck and tugged her toward me, kissing the top of her head. She wrapped her arms around my waist and settled her cheek to my chest.

“I got in my car and sped home,” she whispered. “I was so scared, I thought he might have followed me. It’s dumb.”

“It’s not dumb, baby. You did the right thing.” I stroked her hair. “Why’d Jasmine tell you not to date him?”

“Because he’s kind of a dick.”

“Then why’d you go out with him?”

  “Because I’m horny.”

I chuckled, trying to keep my dick in my pants. “Again, why’d you go out with him?”

  “Because I can’t have you.”

“Jesus Christ, Parker, don’t say shit like that to me.”

  “Sorry.”

I lifted her chin and met her eyes. “You have needs, Parker, you let me know.”

She licked her lips. “I have needs.”

Squeezing my eyes shut, I took a deep breath. “Baby—”

“Just hear me out,” she begged, gripping my jacket. “We don’t have to have a commitment. Just a little fun from time to time.”

I knew without a shadow of a doubt, the second I slid into her, I’d be well past wanting ‘just a little fun from time to time.’

“It’s fine,” she said. “I get it.”

“What do you think you get?” I challenged.

  “I’m off-limits. Jasmine’s filled me—”

Before she could remind me that she was off-limits, I covered her mouth with mine, stroking her cheek as I deepened the kiss.

She let out a quiet mew and I nearly lost my mind, sliding my hands to her ass, and squeezing gently.

  “Bedroom,” she demanded.

I lifted her so she could wrap her legs around my waist, then carried her to her bedroom, continuing to kiss her as we stumbled down the hallway.

By the time I dropped her gently on the bed, Parker was laughing hysterically. Jesus, she was beautiful.

Biting her lip, she sat up on her knees and tugged at my belt. “How quick can you get these off?”

I grinned. “Faster than a rabbit can make kits.”

  “Then do it.”

  “You first.”

“Race ya,” she retorted, and burst into giggles again as she pulled off her sweatshirt.

We rushed to remove our clothes, but she stopped when she got to her underwear.

  “Baby, what are you doing?”

“Um, I, ah... just feel a little weird.”

  “Why?”

She bit her lip, which made me want to bite it myself. “I’m, well, I’m kind of skinny.”

I frowned. She wasn’t skinny. She was perfect.

  “Stop,” I growled.

“I just don’t want you to be disappointed.”

“Swear to Christ, Parker, you don’t stop talkin’ this way, I’m gonna have a problem.”

She nodded, but I could tell she was starting to turn in on herself.

“Look at me,” I said, gently.

She met my eyes and I kissed her quickly. “You are beautiful. You’re the most beautiful woman I’ve ever seen and not just because you’re pretty, Pebbles. You’re funny as fuck, you love your family and friends with passion and kindness, you don’t judge, and you show me you. Always.”

  “Not on purpose,” she grumbled.

I lifted her chin and she met my eyes again. “I read you like a book, baby. I know you’re shy, but I hear what you say, see what you do, and greatly admire the woman you are.”

I’d barely gotten the last word out when her arms went around my neck and her mouth covered mine. I wrapped my arms around her, pulling her against my body, then unhooked her bra as she continued to lay waste to my mouth.

Jesus, I could die right here, right now, and go happy.

She slid her bra off and chucked it in the corner, never breaking our connection, which meant, I didn’t get a chance to see anything before she was pressed against me again.

I could kiss her all night, but I wanted more. A hell of a lot more, so I pulled away and gently pushed her on her back on the mattress.

“Fuck,” I breathed out as I hovered over her. “You’re stunning, Parker.”

She smiled, reaching up to stroke my cheeks. “Back atya.”

The beep of a horn pulled me from my memory, and I took a deep breath. It was probably well-timed, considering I suddenly needed to bury myself deep in my woman.

  Parker

I’d just set a stack of buckets in the corner of the room when Rabbit walked in, looking drained but delicious as usual. “Hey.”

He smiled slowly and I cocked my head. “What?”

  “You pulled your hair back.”

  I frowned. “So?”

“So, you normally let it fall in front of your face to hide.”

I wrinkled my nose. “Do you and Jasmine study each other’s notes?”

He chuckled, closing the distance between us and kissing me deeply. “How’d it go with the wedding shit?”

I gripped his cut. “Good. Uneventful which is the best. The client was happy, and the bride looked beautiful. Now, tell me why your knuckles are raw.”

He smiled, cupping my face and leaning down to kiss me again. “Just had to have a conversation with someone, nothing you need to worry about.”

“You had to have a conversation with someone.” I raised an eyebrow. “With your fists?”

  “Yep.”

  “Who?”

He kissed my nose and gave me a squeeze. “No one.”

He tried to break our connection, but I held him tighter. “Zane.”

  “Yeah, baby?”

  “Who did you hit?”

  “Someone who deserved it.”

I wrinkled my nose. “You found the guy who attacked me.”

“Yeah. But that’s the extent of what I’m going to tell you. Got it?”

I raised an eyebrow. “Why did he—”

  “Parker,” he warned.

“Fine,” I breathed out. I didn’t really care, telling myself that Rabbit would disclose if it was important to me. Which, for the moment, it wasn’t.

  “You’re still wearin’ your skirt.”

I slid my arms behind his neck. “Yeah. It’s pretty and comfortable, so it was appropriate for the wedding, why?”

  “You wearin’ panties?”

My heart sped up and I licked my lips. “Yes, but that can be rectified.”

  “Is Stevie watching the front?”

“Yes,” I said, and studied him. “Why?”

“Just need to bury myself in you.”

  “Quickie?” I asked, hopefully.

Rabbit closed the door and wrapped his arms around my waist, lifting me onto the metal
arranging table. “Hell, yeah.”

I tugged him forward by his jacket and kissed him, sliding my hands into his hair as his hand slipped under my shirt and cupped my breast.

“Parker?” Stevie called, pushing open the door. “Oh! Oh, shit, sorry.”

Rabbit fixed my shirt, dropping his forehead to mine.

“No, I’m sorry,” I rushed to say, jumping off the table. “I should have locked the door.”

“I’ll just wait outside,” Stevie said, pulling the door open and I followed her into the hallway.

“I’m really sorry, Stevie,” I rushed to say. “This is your place of business, you shouldn’t have to be subjected to that.”

She grinned. “It’s all good. I’m just glad you weren’t naked yet.”

I snorted. “Two minutes later and that would have been a different story.”

“No doubt,” she said. “I just ushered our last customer out, so I locked up the front. Do you want me to go through the receipts?”

“No, why don’t you head home early. Rabbit and I’ll finish up.”

“I bet you will.” She chuckled. “I’ll see you Monday.”

“Sounds good.” I waited for her to grab her purse, then locked the back door once I saw her climb into her car and pull away.

Before I could turn back toward the arranging room, my skirt was pulled up and my panties ripped off my body. “That took entirely too fuckin’ long,” Rabbit growled, his hand sliding between my legs. “Spread, Parker.”

I gripped the doorframe and spread. His fingers slid inside of me, then brushed over my clit.

  “Zane,” I panted out.

He pulled his hand away and I couldn’t stop a whimper, but then he gripped my hips and slid his dick inside of me from behind.

  “Yes,” I hissed.

While one hand held my hip steady, his other slid under my shirt, tugging the cups of my bra down so he could roll my nipples between his fingertips.

I dropped my head back to his shoulder, continuing to hold onto the doorframe to stay upright as he slammed into me, burying himself deeper and deeper with each thrust.

“I’m gonna come, baby,” he rasped.

“Give me a second,” I begged, pressing back into him to take him deeper.

  “Parker...”

“Jesus, slap me, Rabbit. Now!” His hand connected with my ass and I groaned. “Again.”

He did it again and I exploded, screaming his name as my pussy contracted around his dick. He wasn’t far behind me, biting my shoulder gently as his dick pulsed inside of me.
