SAMUEL T. RAINIER, Beloved Husband and Father.
“Do you remember what the T stood for?” Vice asked.
“Taylor, I believe.”
“Samuel Taylor Rainier? A good name. They say it was a tragedy, what happened to him.”
“That it was. Scared a lot of people around here. Still don’t like outsiders much. Can’t blame them. You know, the state police never did find his little girl.”
“Oh?”
“God’s honest truth. She disappeared and never was seen or heard from again.”
