Ballers with Benefits (Double Play Series Book 3) Page 9

by Nicole Rodrigues

I grip his shoulders with my hands and start my rhythm on top of him, lifting up and slamming back down, over and over until my legs are jello and I'm panting, trying to fill my lungs. His mouth moves to my other breast, his big hand engulfing it and squeezing it roughly bringing my nipple to his mouth. My legs are tightening, gearing up for the rush of bliss and I take both Damon's hands in mine, moving them under my dress.

  “Squeeze my ass,” I command.

He obliges, gripping onto my bare ass, pushing my body hard onto his. His teeth are clenched and I watch as his nostrils flare, taking my body with no remorse.

“I'm so close angel, keep going.”

I feel my walls start to tighten and grab the seat above his shoulders, rocking hard on his shaft, my body struggling to keep up, desperately waiting for that tiny push over the edge.

All of the sudden the realization that we aren't using a condom hits me.

  “Oh my God,” I gasp.

I scramble off Damon's lap, letting him slip out of me, moving to the seat on the side and shake my head.

“I can't believe I almost just let that happen.”

“Bella, I'm sorry, I thought we were on the same page. I didn't hurt you, did I? I didn't mean-”

“We weren't using a condom. I almost just let you...oh my God, I never did that, ever!”

“Hey relax, I'm clean, I swear. I'm sorry, I should have realized too, I'm so sorry.”

I shake my head again, trying to snap myself out of this. I know I look a little crazy, but my parent’s history always makes me this way.

“I'm clean too, I just got tested,” I whisper. “I'm not on the pill though, that could have been a disaster, Damon.”

He pushes a strand of hair off my forehead and wraps it around my ear.

“I have a condom in my wallet, I wasn't planning for anything to happen without one. I would never do anything to hurt you Bella. Even if this is just sex between us, okay?”

I nod and look up, kissing him softly on his lips. His expression is hard and I wonder briefly why, but he cups my cheek, deepening the kiss and my body stirs to life again.

“You okay?” he whispers against my lips.

I nod and he guides me back, laying me on the limo bench, moving towards the slit in my dress. He inches it over slowly as I watch, mesmerized with his big hands gently handling my dainty dress. Seconds ago he was growling in my ear, pumping into me like a wild animal and now he's soft, handling me with a tenderness I haven't seen in him yet. He reaches my throbbing center and I glance up at his face catching his gaze as he stares down at me.

He smiles before dipping his head and taking one, long, languid lick and I buck against his face. I reach above my head on the bench, grabbing anything to ground me. My hand is frantically searching and finally lands on the back of Damon's head, mussing his perfectly styled hair.

His tongue slides through my lips landing on my clit. His mouth sucks on the little bud, taking small pulls and I lose all control, riding his face, chasing my undoing.

In seconds, he is above me, bracing his hands on the bench above my shoulders and guides his shaft into me again. I wrap my legs around his waist as he pushes deeper into me, his balls slap against ass.

“We’re good angel, I got you. Don't worry about a thing.”

His slick lips capture mine, sucking my bottom lip between his as he barrels into me. Further and further inside my tight channel until the tip of his erection touches that spot, the spot that does it.

I dig my heels into his back harder using the leverage to meet him, thrust for thrust until I hear my name drip from his lips like a song. A slow, smooth, alluring sound that causes my body to respond and follow him to the rough waters like a siren.

I shatter into pieces underneath his gorgeous body and let out a breath I didn't even realize I was holding. He stills on top of me, neither one of us moving, wondering what the fuck just happened. That was momentous, our bodies exploding together, shattering any walls we had built around us. I felt mine splinter and looking at his shocked expression I know he felt it too.

I close my eyes as he slowly pulls out of me and shake those thoughts out of my head. I open my eyes when I hear his voice and see his hand outstretched for me, pulling me into a sitting position.

“Well let's just go home. There's no way the rest of the night can live up to that,” he jokes, pulling the condom off, tying it and tossing it into the small trash bin by the mini bar.

I smile at him, relieved for the change of the heaviness that briefly blanketed us. We put ourselves together trying to make it look like we didn't just fuck each other senseless in the back of the limo. Damon gets out, walking around to the other side, opening the door for me.

Of course the paparazzi are there waiting with their flashing lights and questions. Damon's hand goes protectively to the small of my back as we walk towards the building.

“Damon are you and Bella an item? Was your break up with Brynn because of your infidelity with Gavinwood? Bella, care to comment about rumors circulating about Sports Illustrated later this year? Damon can you tell us more about the Tampa-Colorado trade rumors?”

Damon and I ignore the questions and walk towards the front of the gala opening. We both flash a smile to the security guard, and he escorts us inside.

I glance around the main room and it is exquisite. The glass chandeliers sparkling from the ceilings compliment the shiny marble floor. In the middle of each table is an over the top floral centerpiece and along the walls are breathtaking paintings.

“What is this event for?” I ask Damon.

“Raising money for art programs throughout the Louisiana school systems. Apparently when the budget comes to fruition, art and music are the first to go. Everything raised tonight will give all six school districts in the area enough money to keep the art programs running for the next five years.”

“What happens after the five years?”

Damon shrugs as he guides us to the nearest table.

“They do an event like this again, probably,” he says as he pulls my chair out for me to sit.

“Are you passionate about art?” I ask as he sits in his chair scooting it closer to mine.

“Don't laugh but I really love to paint. My mother is a painter and when I was younger, I used to have a lot of anger that I didn't know how to express. She gave me a brush, some paint and a blank canvas, locked me in my room and told me I couldn't come out until all of the white was no longer visible,” he says laughing.

I smile at him, getting a glimpse into a Damon Johnson not many people probably see.

“What did you do?” I ask.

“Got some paint on my brush and threw it at the canvas,” he laughs. “I was so angry at her so I was trying to be spiteful. Turns out after the first couple of throws I actually enjoyed it. It was a big mess by the end, but she came back in the room, asked if I was feeling better and then asked if I wanted to learn. She taught me a couple techniques and I don't do it as much anymore, but when I need to take a breather I break it out.”

  “I can't picture you paintin’, you're so…”

“Manly, sexy, rugged?” he says wiggling his eyebrows.

  “Yeah, I guess,” I laugh.

“What if I did it naked? Would that make it easier to picture?” he whispers in my ear.

I close my eyes, trying to keep my libido in check. Down girl, you just got yours, keep it in the cage.

“Do you buy a paintin’ or something? Or you paid for our plates?”

“Both. Want to come pick out a painting?”

I nod and he stands, putting his hand out for me to take. I take his hand and we walk around the ballroom, glancing at each painting. I'm having a hard time focusing on them though and keep stealing a peek at Damon.

I stop in front of one painting, admiring the blended colors of purple and blue. Damon continues on walking and I stop to watch him.

The way the jacket of his suit pulls across his muscular b
ack. The way his suit pants tighten on his ass as he walks. The swing of his arms, his shoulders, his swagger. The confidence he exudes as he strolls around the ballroom is intoxicating.

He turns around, catching me staring and smiles, putting his arm out. I slip my arm through his and it feels so damn good, like putting in that last puzzle piece after spending months working on it.

  Satisfaction.

I shouldn't feel this. I should be running the other way at the first sign of this turning into something more than just physical, but I can't. He pulls me closer next to him and I smile.

  Just feel Bella, stop analyzing.

We stop in front of a black and white painting, lines crossing in different patterns that look like a silhouette of two people, two naked people.

“I think this is the one,” he whispers in my ear. “It would look perfect above my bed, no, angel?”

I nod and swallow focusing on my breathing.

“It probably would,” I rasp, “I wouldn't know though, I haven't seen your bedroom.”

  “Do you want to?”

  “I...what?”

  “Damon?”

I hear a woman's high pitched voice and turn around coming face to face with Brynn Roberts. Of course.

“I thought that was you. What are you doing here?” she asks, coming closer to us.

I feel Damon put a hand on my lower back, bringing me closer to him.

“Here for the event. Double Play sent me, great cause,” he says, his voice cold. “Meet my date, Bella Gavinwood.”

Brynn looks over to me and her smile is so fake, I swear it's probably physically hurting her to do it.

“Bella Gavinwood, loved your calendar. Rumor has it Sports Illustrated, huh?”

“No actually. Nothin’ lined up right now,” I say politely, my face tilting up in a tight smile.

“Oh, too bad. I thought we would be working together. I got a call from them, probably gonna start the shoot in a couple weeks. I've been super busy lately, so many photo shoots, but you know how it is. Ah, actually you don't.”

  “You're right, I don't,” I respond my voice flat.

  Curse my polite southern upbringing.

“I heard Sports Illustrated is going a little smaller these days anyway, if you get my drift.”

I grit my teeth and my fists ball at my side.

“Brynn why don't you get the hell out of here. We don't-”

“I’m happy with my body, Brynn,” I say cutting off Damon. “I work my ass off to keep it this way. I ain't doin’ Sports Illustrated because I like the element of surprise. If everyone in the world knows what I look like naked, what's the fun in that? The best part of a present is unwrappin’ it, no? Who wants a gift that’s not even wrapped, right baby?” I ask looking over to Damon and tugging on his tie.

I see his eyebrows raise slightly at my endearment, but he quickly masks it, playing along, dropping his hand a little lower to the curve of my ass.

“I sure as hell don't, angel. Unwrapping that goddess from the calendar was definitely the best part,” he whispers but loud enough for Brynn to hear.

She scoffs and waves a hand at us.

“Keep slumming it with this hillbilly. You made a big mistake Damon, big mistake,” she stays sternly walking quickly away from us.

“Angel,” he growls. “I'm sorry about her.”

“Well she's pretty miserable. What did you see in her?”

“I have no fuckin’ clue, but I'll tell you what. I'm buying this painting and then we're packing it up, putting it in the back of the limo and you're coming to my apartment with me. I can slip this sexy dress off your delectable body and you can help me hang it in nothing but these sexy heels. You are so goddamned sexy when you're fired up,” he says running a finger up the slit of my dress.

His hand disappears inside it, briefly touching my bare center and I clench my thighs together, gritting my teeth.

  “Damon,” I warn.

“If my body is all you wanted tonight angel, by all means, take what you came for.”

I can't help the sting those words cause, our moment in the limo quickly forgotten. I didn't just accept his invitation because I wanted to sleep with him, although I obviously do and that's what I said.

I like the feelings I get when I'm with him. I forget the pedestal I'm put on and I feel wild, free, like I can do whatever the hell I want, no matter the consequences. I have no fears when I'm with him, my brain shuts off and I just do. It's an addicting feeling and I'm nervous I will always need my fix. What happens when I still need my fix, but he no longer needs his?

  Chapter 10

  Bella

I open the glass doors to the Double Play building and freeze when I see Lacey standing in the hallway with her arms crossed, heeled foot tapping on the rugged floor.

  “Mornin’,” I say smiling

“Cut the shit. You didn't come home last night and all the sudden forgot how to use a phone, what happened?”

“I did too! Well not last night just really, really, really early this mornin’, and my phone died,” I say twisting my mouth into a half smile waiting for her wrath.

“Oh yeah, do tell, because I kicked Hulk out as soon as we were done so you didn't have to deal with us fuckin’ our brains out while you tried to sleep. Clearly only one of us has any decency. Not even a damn phone call.”

  “Oh my God, Lacey-”

“Let's save it Ms. Virgin Mary. You banged Damon the night you met him if you've forgotten. We're talkin’ about you, stop judgin’ me.”

  “I'm not judgin’ you I-”

“I don't like that he kicked you out and made you take a cab home that late at night. I'm gonna give him a piece of my mind.”

“He didnt!” I say quickly. “I...afterwards I told him I wanted to go home. He drove me, dropped me off and made sure I was safely inside before leavin’, I promise.”

Lacey eyes me suspiciously but seems to relent, sensing that I'm being truthful.

  “Why did you wanna leave?”

“I...it's just...it's becomin’ too much. I know when to distance myself.”

Lacey lets out a breath, shaking her head and walks over to me taking me into a hug.

“Bells, this kills me. Have you talked to him? Asked if he would maybe consider somethin’ more than just a fuckfest?”

“I didn't hear that and you're lucky your daddy is visitin’ Devin this week,” I hear my mother say from behind me.

I jump and feel my face heat and see her and my aunt come into my vision, my aunt trying to contain her laughter.

  “Mama, I'm a grown woman.”

“Believe me, I know that and every man in America knows it too. Your daddy on the other hand...well let's try and keep that talk to spaces where you know he won't be walkin’ in and overhearin’. He’ll pumble that poor boy into the ground faster than a knife through butter.”

Lacey laughs and I smack her arm.

“How was your Valentine's Day baby?” my aunt asks Lacey.

“Fine Mama. How was you and Daddy’s?”

“Great. Your grandma babysat Harrison and Tucker so-”

“Okay, that’s all I need to hear. We don’t have another baby comin’ in 9 months, do we? It’s hard enough explainin’ things to people now, they think I'm nuts,” Lacey says.

“Yeah I didn’t even attempt to explain it to Damon,” I laugh.

“No more babies, don't worry. Now money doesn’t make itself, let's hop to it,” my aunt says, smacking mine and Lacey’s butt.

I say goodbye to the three of them but then grab Lacey's arm before walking to my office.

“It's weird because I got back around three this mornin’. You would have known I was home this mornin’ if you were in your room when I left, but you weren't, were you,” I smirk.

“I...I went for an early mornin’ run,” Lacey stutters.

“Lacey fuckin’ Turner. Tell me you didn't spend the night with Nico?”

  “I...I didn't. I don't
do that.”

“You did, my God,” I say dumbfounded releasing her arm.

I stare at her and her eyes dart around, her cheeks reddening.

“I just...he left and you didn't come home and I didn't...I just..He's a beast in bed, he does this thing with his tongue and I....it's sex Bells, that's it, just drop it.”
