“Touch yourself,” he commanded, and she didn’t hesitate.

Never taking her eyes off him, she slipped her free hand between her legs and began to massage her pussy, a moan vibrating against him as she touched her own sweet spot.

“That’s a good girl, come for me while you suck me off,” he told her, and she was all too happy to oblige. He reached down and pinched a single nipple with his fingers, twisting and pulling at it as she groaned against his pulsating member. It was all too much. He wanted her and he couldn’t hold back any longer.

Pulling free of her mouth, he stood and reached down for her, pulling her up and sitting her on his kitchen counter. He leaned forward and spread her legs, admiring the hot, pink flesh and wetness that had formed there. He stuck his tongue in her, lapping at it, tasting her as she made gasping sounds and clutched the edges of the counter. She tasted divine and it only got him harder, but he wasn’t ready to take her just yet. He was enjoying teasing her first.

“Let me see you cum. Show me how you touch yourself when you think about how much you want me to fuck you,” he told her.

Her delicate fingers slipping between her legs, pulling her pussy open and fingering her clit. Her breath was ragged and increasingly shallow as she milked her clit with her fingers while he balanced her there in front of him. Two fingers found their way inside, pumping in and out as droplets flew against his face. She was on the verge, close to orgasm. Her legs trembled as she let out a high-pitched squeal and let loose with a flood that spilled down her thighs.

He licked them clean as she jerked against each contact with his tongue. It was clear that she was hypersensitive, and he planned to send her into spasms with every little touch of her hot skin. He leaned in further, lapping more of her cum directly from her pussy and sucking at her clit. Her hands pulled at him, trying to get relief, but he wouldn’t let her get away, not yet.

Her body jerked and twisted against him until he thought she was going to send herself flying the rest of the way over the bar. Instead, he picked her up and turned her over, positioning himself behind her and driving his cock inside her sweet little hole. God, it felt good to be inside her. She begged him to stop and he did, only to have her beg him to fuck her more.

With her tiny body bent over the counter, pinned between his massive frame and the opening above it, he pounded into her, holding her hips to keep from sending her flying into the other room.

“Yes. Harder, harder. Fuck me, Thad.”

Soon, he could feel his knot forming again, filling her until she was screaming with a mixture of pleasure and pain. Her legs shook violently as it pushed against her pussy walls, sending her into a series of orgasms that shook her entire frame. He let out a long growl, and as he let it go, he filled her with a massive load.

The dream slipped away as he awoke with a massive erection for which he unfortunately would not be afforded the vessel from his dream as an outlet. Melancholy filled him as he took matters into his own hand, getting himself off and falling back into a restless sleep until his alarm went off.

  CHAPTER SEVENTEEN

  Jaycee

Jaycee awoke feeling refreshed. She was back on track, with interviews and dates set up. Soon, Thad would be a thing of the past and she wouldn’t give what happened between them a second thought. He was just a fling.

At least, this is what she tried to tell herself. As the weeks progressed, it became increasingly evident that he wasn’t so easily dismissed. Her thoughts kept drifting back to him, especially after every bad date she went on with the Betas she’d found on Alpha Meets Omega.

Then, it all changed. She met Aaron. He was gorgeous and smart, an artist living in the nearby SoDo district of Seattle. He was highly successful, with a number of metal sculptures in galleries across the planet. Cautious about bringing anyone up to the apartment anymore after the experience with Thad, she always met him in the lobby for their dates and said her goodbyes there, as well. Something that hadn’t gone unnoticed by him.

“Why don’t you invite me up?” he asked.

“My place is a mess,” she lied. “You want to hang out down here a while? The common room doesn’t look very busy tonight?”

  “I guess,” he said.

She noted the air of disappointment in his voice but wasn’t too worried about it. His impatience wasn’t her problem, but there was, most likely, no reason he wasn’t safe enough to take up and perhaps have a little fun with. There was something that held her back from it, though. She needed things to go slow. She needed to maintain control.

“Oh. Hey, Jaycee,” Barron said, trailing toward them with two children behind him.

“Hey. I didn’t know you had children.”

“Yes. Weekend Dad. You know. We’re just headed up to bed, but I saw you and thought I’d say hello.”

She couldn’t miss how his gaze shifted toward Aaron, and the way the latter’s body stiffened told her he didn’t like the way he was looking at him. Barron was a big guy, and Aaron wasn’t. He was thin and athletic, not big and brawny like Barron. If he weren’t Thad’s driver, she would wonder if he weren’t an Alpha instead of a Beta. Alpha’s didn’t serve other alphas. They were equals in all aspects of life, even if one had a higher stature in the human world.

“Oh, Barron, this is Aaron Golding.”

“I know who he is,” Barron replied.

“You’re a fan of my work?” Aaron asked, seeming to ease a bit.

“I used to be,” Barron replied, quickly turning his attention back to Jaycee. “I’ve got to get the kids up to bed. You okay here?”

“Of course. Good to see you, Barron.”

  “You too.”

He shot Aaron a look that let him know he didn’t care for him, for whatever reason. Was he really this protective of Thad or was it something else?

“That guy seems like a bit of a dick. How do you know him?”

“He works for a guy I know, lives in the building. I don’t really know him very well.”

“Listen, I’ve got to get up early in the morning, so I’m going to get going. That is, unless you want me to stay?”

“I have to get up early too. I’ll walk you out,” she replied, standing and smoothing down the dress she had worn on their date.

“All right then. I’ll call you tomorrow. Get some sleep. I can walk myself out.”

He kissed her on the forehead and turned to leave. She stood there and watched as he went. He was getting tired of waiting, and she wasn’t sure if she was ready to move forward. More importantly, she didn’t understand why.

The following day, work was hectic. She barely had a chance to breathe and when she checked her phone, there were several missed calls from Aaron and a half-dozen texts. It wasn’t like him to be so needy, but she supposed she didn’t usually ignore his calls so long. He was getting attached, which might be good or bad. She wasn’t sure.

Once she got a break, she called him back. The relief in his voice was immediate.

“Thank goodness. I had a horrible dream about you last night and I guess it left me a bit out of sorts. Sorry if I came across like a psycho or anything.”

“It’s okay. I’m glad you care enough to check on me. What’s up?”

“I thought we might go out for a walk later, along the river front. What do you think?”

  “Sure. Sounds good. When?”

“Why don’t I pick you up after work and we can just go from there.”

“I’m hardly dressed for a walk.”

“It’s okay. We can drop by your place so you can change,” he told her.

Jaycee paused for a moment. Was it just an innocent thought? After all, that was what normal people do when they are dating someone for a little while. They don’t think twice about bringing them by their apartment to change. Something about this felt like a setup, though.

  “Jaycee?”

“Oh, sorry. My boss stepped in. I’ve got to run. I’ll call you later, okay?”

  “Oka
y,” he said.

There was the disappointment again. She put her phone on her desk and sat looking at it. Was she being too hard on him? It wasn’t his fault that she was being fickle. Perhaps, she should stop being such a baby and just let the man into her apartment.

“Will you be doing any work today?” Nasteau said from her open doorway.

She jumped, caught off guard by the intrusion. What had she been doing when he arrived? Oh. Yeah. Staring at her phone. Though she had no use for him, he was currently still her boss and she needed to stay here until she could do better.

“Do you need me for something?” she asked.

“I need you to come with me.”

  “Okay. Where are we going?”

  “Human Resources.”

Her heart sank. What was this about? She’d been doing a respectable job, despite his bullshit. She wanted to ask but decided to wait until she was in front of Marilyn Stutt, a witness. Why that was important, she wasn’t sure, but it seemed important at the moment. She followed him down the hall and stepped inside the H.R. Department, where the receptionist sent them right in. It was obvious they were expected.

“Hello, Miss Carmichael. How are you?”

“I’m not sure at the moment,” Jaycee responded.

“Have a seat,” she told her, motioning for Nasteau to also sit.

  “Have I done something wrong?”

“We’ll get to that. Mr. Nasteau has asked that we discuss this in my office so that it’s on record in the event of further action.”

  “Further action?”

“Inter-disciplinary. Mr. Nasteau says that you have crossed the boundaries of decorum by having a relationship with an associate with which we do business.”

  “I what? No, I haven’t.”

  “Thaddeus Ulrich?” she replied.

Jaycee looked over at Mr. Nasteau. He had a smarmy look on her face that made her want to slap him.

  Or worse.

She gritted her teeth, pushing her inner wolf’s voice downward and addressing Mrs. Stutt as if he weren’t in the room.

“I went out with Mr. Ulrich before I came to work here. I had no idea that he was involved with our company in any way, shape or form.”

  “And since you found out?”

Jaycee looked down at her hands for a moment and then took a deep breath before speaking.

“I went out to dinner with Mr. Ulrich once since then and haven’t seen him since.”

“That’s not true,” Mr. Nasteau interjected, getting a look of exasperation from Mrs. Stutt. She had obviously asked him to let her handle this.

  “Yes, it is,” Jaycee protested.

“I sent you to deliver a contract. You would have seen him then.”

“He wasn’t available. I gave it to his associate to be delivered.”

“I told you to put those contracts in the hands of the people I sent them to,” he barked, turning his attention back to Mrs. Stutts. “See, this is what I mean. Not only is she jeopardizing the reputation of my company, but she can’t even complete simple tasks as requested.”

Jaycee said nothing. Anything she was thinking right now would be a sure-fire way to get canned if she let it slip from her mouth. Instead, she clutched the arms of her chair and willed herself to keep quiet.

“I don’t think that is terribly uncommon in our industry, Mr. Nasteau. When dealing with people in high level positions, our clerks and interns aren’t always given carte blanche to just walk in their office and hand them things.”

“I don’t have to be in here, Marilyn. I could have just fired her, but you have insisted I keep you in the loop on these things. If you are going to make an excuse for poor employee performance and behavior, then perhaps, I should let you walk her out and you can keep walking.”

Now, it was Marilyn Stutts biting her lip. Jaycee remained silent, waiting for what would happen next. She expected to be fired but was surprised by Marilyn’s next words.

“Jaycee, please return to your desk while Mr. Nasteau and I have a private discussion.”

“Yes, ma’am,” Jaycee said politely, getting up from her chair.

She caught a glimpse of Mr. Nasteau as she turned toward the door. He was fuming. His entire head was read. His face and the bald spot on top of his head that wasn’t covered with his hideous combover were splotchy with anger. He did not like to be crossed, especially not by a woman.

She sat nervously at her desk, wondering if she should go ahead and pack her things, though she hadn’t yet brought many in yet. Maybe she should just go ahead and quit. How could she continue to work here knowing nothing she did would please him and that he already wanted to fire her after less than a month?

  CHAPTER EIGHTEEN

  Thad

For the second night in a row, Thad had dreamed about Jaycee. He woke up feeling out of sorts and wanting to call her but refused to chase after a woman who didn’t want him. Still, the dream had been unsettling and he felt the need to know that she was okay. The feeling stayed with him as he waited for Barron to arrive. He didn’t hesitate to get to the point once he sat down beside him in the car.

“Barron, I need you to do me a favor.”

  “Sure. What’s up?”

“I need you to keep an eye on Jaycee for me.”

“Keep an eye on her? You want me to stalk her for you?”

“No. Of course not. I just need to know that she is okay, and I can’t call her.”

  “Can’t? Or won’t?”

  “Same difference.”

“So, what is it that you want me to watch for then?”

“Nothing in particular. Like I said, I just need to know she is okay.”

“I think she is,” Barron replied.

  “Why do you say that?”

“Listen, I don’t want to bother you. You seem to really like this woman, more than I’ve ever seen you like a woman, really, but she’s already moving on. She was curled up with someone else the other night down in the communal area, watching the tube.”

“Someone else? You sound like it wasn’t just someone else.”

  “It was Aaron Golding.”

  “The Aaron Golding?”

  “One and the same.”

  “Did he recognize you?”

“Nope. Too far up his own ass, I guess. She even called me by name, and it didn’t seem to ring any bells with him.”

  “Fuck!”

“Anyway, to answer your question. Yes. I’ll keep an eye on her because I already have been. Whatever they have going on seems to be pretty casual. It seems like she always meets him downstairs and never takes him up to her room.”

“Let’s hope it stays that way.”

“It will. I won’t step in unless I have to.”

  “Thanks, Barron,” Thad replied.

The conversation dropped during the remainder of the drive to work, but it stayed on Thad’s mind. Of all the people she could have found to go out with, Aaron Golding was a nightmare. He seemed like a nice guy on the surface, but he wasn’t, and the scars on his back would prove he’d crossed the wrong Alpha.

I should have killed him while I had the chance.

Now, he had his claws into Jaycee, who had no idea what she was getting herself into. He wanted to tell her but would just come across like a jealous, jilted suitor. Instead, he’d have to settle for Barron keeping an eye out. If she stopped seeing him, then the problem would solve itself. Otherwise, he’d have to risk losing any chance that remained with her, if such a thing even still existed, in order to protect her.

Rather than calling Barron, he went for a walk and stopped at a local tavern for a drink. Several scotches later, he thought about returning to the office, but it was getting late and he didn’t see the point. Instead, he went to NIH to talk to her. He knew it was a bad idea, but fuck it.

“I’m sorry, she’s not available,” the receptionist told him.

“Is she here?” he asked impatiently.

  “Not currently,” she
replied.

“Can you tell me where she is?” he asked, but a voice behind him cut off any reply she might have made.

“She’s probably at home licking her wounds,” Nasteau said.

Thad turned to see him strolling across the lobby with several other men. He had apparently heard him asking for her and decided to nose in.

“What is that supposed to mean?”

“It means, I fired her. She no longer works here.”

  “Why?” Thad asked.

“Gross incompetence and whoring around with outside clients,” he said, looking him in the eye.

Thad walked toward him. He towered over the sniveling little bastard and no doubt looked as menacing as he felt. He had found out about his relationship, albeit brief, with Jaycee and took out his inability to screw over the Hutchins Group because of Thad out on her.

  “She’s not a whore.”

  “Protecting your bitch?”

In some circles, that would have been a perfectly acceptable reference to an Alpha’s mate, but Nasteau had no way of knowing that and was using it in a very human sense. Thad raised his hand as if to strike him but paused as he spoke.

“Is it really worth the lawsuit?” Nasteau purred.

“Yes,” Thad replied, punching the older man right in the nose.

There was a loud cracking sound and blood splattered everywhere. Nasteau went down like a rock. Thad wanted to do more to him, but he didn’t really relish beating the shit out of an old man in the middle of the busy lobby. He restrained himself from hitting him again as the men around him helped him back to his feet and started rushing him away from Thad.

“Call the powish,” Nasteau garbled out. “Ninth won won.”

It was all Thad could do not to laugh. That had been a long time coming, and he didn’t regret it. He pulled out his cell phone, even as people shrank away from him in horror, and called Barron.

“Yeah, Barron. I’m gonna need you on standby to come and get me from the police station. I don’t know which one yet, so I’ll have to contact you again from there once they pick me up. Okay?”
