“We’re hoping for the first of the year. We need to either find or build the buildings we need.”
“I’d like to be an instructor,” he told Alix.
“Thank you, Kris, I think you would make an excellent teacher. Does anyone have any more questions?”
No one did at the moment, but Alix was sure there would be more eventually.
“So, Miss Dracon,” Ben said as she walked up to him, “you’ve been keeping secrets from me.”
“Sorry, but I didn’t even know if we could make it work and I wanted to tell everyone at the same time.”
“I understand,” he said, “but no more secrets. I love you and I want to know everything that goes on in that head of yours.”
Alix laughed. “I’m sure you don’t want to know everything, but I get what you’re saying, and I promise no more secrets.”
“That better go for me too,” Shay said smacking Alix on the arm. “I can’t believe you kept that from me.”
“It won’t happen again,” she told Shay. “So, now that you’ve graduated are you ready to start that fashion school in London?”
“I’m so ready, but I’m going to miss you,” Shay told her.
“You won’t have time to miss me. You’re going to be too busy learning and having fun with Logan.”
“I still can’t thank you enough for helping him get into that school. Who knew video games would be an actual degree?”
“I just made a couple of calls; he did the rest. The important part is that you two will only be thirty minutes from each other and an hour from Fox Hollow so you can come home whenever you like.”
Shay hugged her. “You are the best friend in the world and I’m still going to miss you.”
“Don’t worry, whenever I go to England, I’ll be sure to come bug you,” Alix said grinning.
“You’d better,” Shay said.
Alix watched as Shay went over to Logan and put her arm around his waist. She was glad that things had worked out for them. She would miss seeing Shay every day but knew that her dream had always been to go to fashion school in London, so she was extremely happy for her.
“What’s on your mind?” Ben asked her as he pulled her into a hug.
“I was just thinking how much things are going to change over the next few months but that all of us are getting what we want. Shay’s going to her dream school and will be close to Logan. I’ll get to help young Nykara and you’ll be going to art school but still be close to home.”
“Yep, it all worked out thanks to you. The Chosen One saved the world from the evil Grynn and gets to live happily ever after,” he said with a huge smile.
All Alix could do was smile back. Her journey to become the Chosen One wasn’t always easy but it had been worth every minute to see the people she loved happy and with a future they were excited about.
“I love you Ben.”
“I love you too Alix, and I always will.

What sparked my interest to write the series?
All I started with was Alix’s name. I had no idea what the first book was going to be about. I just started writing one day and soon I had a story, then before I knew it, it was a whole series.
Where do my ideas come from?
I never know. Really. I just sit down and see what happens. Most of the time I’m just a surprised as you are as to what happens.
