Chapter 8
Dr. Singh was in deep thought. He was thinking about the call made by his brother from Haridwar about Amit. He got interested in his case as his brother told him that on initial examination the patient has shown signs of amnesia as well as paranoia. He was told that the amnesia is true and not likely to be forged. And that the patient now mumbles in his dreams which will definitely become a problem in near future for the patient as he becomes fearful from his dreams and it looks like he is running from some one. Dr. Singh took the call from Ashok who had been given his number by his brother. His brother wanted to help Amit and had made sure that DR. Singh treats him.
Now sitting in a government vehicle and blindfolded for his own safety he is thinking how all this would turn up. He was confident till this early evening, before Narendra called, that Amit was hiding something and his amnesia and paranoia was due to something terrible and it had led to his guilty conscious. Now as the events have unfolded in the evening he was avoiding any guesses further in this matter and was content that had allowed him to come with them. He would rather be part of the team solving this mystery than be sleeping peacefully in his bed.
Narendra was having similar thoughts. He had known Ashok long enough that he was a good lad. He was best friend of his younger brother since their college days. Now when he had asked for help in Amit’s case he could not refuse even though he had a busy schedule. He had maintained an uninspiring office to be unburdened by useless case of spouse following or trying to find out about future bride/groom etc. His office did not inspire confidence in people who did not know him. And therefore he was able to take his own cases and solve them. And he had a very busy schedule. But since Amit’s case has come up all the rest have been given to his deputies and he takes a look at them either at home or the main office where rest of his team works. But no one knows that the place is used as office of a detective agency. He was hopeful that something would come around in Amit’s case but the recent turn of events have totally had him perplexed. He was expecting Amit to be in danger but the danger would be such great he had never imagined. What that this lad done to incur the wraith of people so powerful was beyond his comprehension.
