Mama Knows Best Page 13

by Taylor, Reece

“This is delicious, babe. Beautiful, an awesome cook and damn do you give a great blowjob. You’re every man’s wet dream.” I smile at him because I certainly got him off a few minutes ago.

“So how did your big deal turn out?” I have a feeling Tyler’s company is about to become very profitable. His laid-back attitude toward business is going to have to change I’m afraid.

“It went really well. Cash was super charged to see me, and the meetings went better than we expected. Of course, this means I’m going to be putting in some serious work hours for the next few weeks and I won’t get much done to the house. Cash brought up us looking into opening an office and really setting up shop. I knew it was coming, but I have to admit I’m worried we may fall on our faces.” I’m surprised to hear this insecurity from him. Tyler is usually so confident about everything, so sure of himself. It’s kind of nice to see this very human side of him, although I know he has nothing to worry about. I may have cyber-stalked him and looked up his company along with some of the websites he’s developed. I was very impressed with what I saw.

“Tyler, your company is doing great and I know between you and Cash, you will not fall on your faces. I predict you’ll only get bigger and better. So, what’s the plan for opening the office?” He scowls and takes a bite of food as he contemplates what he wants to say.

“I’m going to meet with Hannah on Monday and have her find us a few buildings to look at that may suit our needs. We’re not sure if we want to lease or buy. But if the right deal comes along I say we buy. We’re looking in the downtown area. There are some older buildings we can probably get cheap and remodel into office space, as long as it’s not falling down around our ears.” I picture Main Street and agree there are several buildings that will most likely do, although I have no idea about prices.

“With you moving a business here, you may be able to get a few tax breaks. The new mayor is all about revitalizing the downtown area and is pro-business.”

“Hadn’t thought about that, but I’ll check into it. Now, enough about business, what’s been going on here? I know we talked every night, but I could tell you weren’t telling me everything. Is Cam getting settled in at her new place and at her job?” He’s so sweet to ask about my friend I’ve avoided talking about Cam’s troubles over the phone. Most of the time when he called I was at her place, so I didn’t want to discuss it with her sitting there.

“She’s settling in quite well. Her job is working out well and so far, she hasn’t had any problems on that front. The house is great, and it’s coming together. Her mother has been over helping her decorate and it looks so cute. As far as her emotional state, she’s getting better every day.” I hate my friend is having to go through this heartache, but all I can do is be there for her.

“Did she ever tell you what happened?”

“Yeah, Asshole Jay obviously got his ex-wife pregnant. He kept denying the baby was his and swore he hadn’t slept with her, but she had a DNA test done and it proved to be his. Cam was devastated, and the bastard still kept denying he had slept with her. She trusted him and stood by him through everything, but she couldn’t fight against undeniable proof. From what she said he went back with his wife and they’re going to try and work through their differences for the sake of the child. I met Jay’s ex once and she’s a total bitch, but that still doesn’t excuse him. It appears they belong together. I would love to get my hands on him, but I promised Cam not to contact or have anything to do with him. She even made me promise not to Facebook stalk him.” Tyler chuckles at this.

“Sounds like she made a narrow escape. If a man will cheat while he’s dating someone, he will usually cheat after they’re married too.” I agree whole-heartedly with this statement and am glad my friend doesn’t have that worry anymore.

Tyler then stands and walks around the table to the back of my chair. He pulls me away from the table and swings my chair around to face him as he reaches down to lift me up so my legs are straddling his waist. I cross my arms around his shoulders and hold on as he walks us back to his bedroom. I lift my face to his and he doesn’t disappoint. He kisses me deeply, making me moan into his mouth. I love the way this man kisses.

He gently lays me back on the bed and removes my sexy nightie along with my thong, gently trailing his fingers against my skin as he pulls them down my legs. Once I’m naked he steps back to admire his handiwork and removes his boxers. I look up at him. Now I need him to stop looking and start doing.

He places both his hands on my breasts and squeezes, then his mouth is on my nipples and he does this wonderful thing with his tongue making them peak almost instantly and causing me to arch my back to get closer to him. I thread my fingers through his hair and lean forward to twirl my tongue around the shell of his ear. He shutters in response.

“Ty, I don’t need much foreplay tonight, I want you hard, fast, and now.” I lift my legs beside his hips as I open myself up for him. He rubs the tip of his cock against my entrance and feels I’m already wet for him. He enters me fully with one hard thrust causing me to lose my breath.

“Are you all right?” I smile at the concern I hear in his voice and move my hips up to bring him deeper in response. He moans and then proceeds to shatter me as he makes wonderful hard love to me. I reach my peak within minutes and he follows closely behind me. We’re both lying in the bed beside each other, both basking in satisfaction as we fall asleep in each other’s arms.

  Chapter Seventeen

  MaCee

Tonight is Rachel and Conrad’s engagement party and I couldn’t be happier for them. I’ve gotten so close to Rachel over the last few months and can’t believe I wasn’t when I lived here before, although she’s a couple years older than me. Age makes a difference when you’re in your teens. She’s been amazing to Cam, and I will forever love her for that.

Tyler and I walk into the country club’s banquet room, which looks completely different from the last time I was here. This room is where most important events are held in this town, and it appears to change with the event. There’s no white or strains of Christmas lights to be found. Rachel is planning a beach wedding, so they’re having a luau-themed party. I’m wearing a blue sundress with a tropical print and sandals, while Tyler is wearing a Hawaiian shirt against his will that I had to make all kinds of promises to get him to wear. A young girl gives us a lei when we walk in and I smirk over my shoulder when I notice all the other men wearing flowery shirts. Tyler just grunts at me.

I immediately spot Hannah as she waves us over and I give her a hug. It feels like forever since I saw her last. She looks amazing with her hair in a messy updo and her semi-short strapless red dress. She is Rachel’s maid of honor and my brother, Lee, is Conrad’s best man. Lee and Conrad have been friends since childhood and still remain close even though Lee went to law school and Conrad to the police academy. Hannah is smiling at me and I can tell she’s not as happy as she’s trying to make everyone believe. I look around and notice my brother is talking with some friends and has his hand on the lower back of some strange woman.

Ohhhhhh, Lee brought a date. Poor Hannah, she’s had a crush on my brother for years and he doesn’t seem to know she’s alive. I could just kick him for bringing random women to things he knows Hannah will be at. I reach over to give her another hug and she just shrugs.

“You look amazing. Hey, there’s Tucker. Why don’t you go talk to him? He’s single and very good-looking. I mean I know the two of you are just friends, but no one else does.” I nod in Tucker’s general direction. Tucker Wilks is a cop who works with Conrad, and he’s friends with Justin, so we’ve all been hanging out a good bit lately. He should be a nice distraction from my brother for Hannah tonight. Hannah gives me a sly smile.

“Hey, what do you mean he’s good-looking? You’re only supposed to have eyes for me, young lady.” Tyler winks down at me.

  “Oh, I do, baby. On
ly you,” I say in a syrupy voice that causes Hannah to laugh. I notice my brother glancing over at us and I wave to him. Hannah also notices Lee coming over with his date and she excuses herself to head straight over to where Tucker and Justin are talking. I watch Lee follow her with his eyes. Hmmm, maybe my big brother isn’t as immune as he would have us believe. I give him a hug when he reaches us and turn to his date.

“Lee, you’re here. Mother is going to skin you alive for not coming earlier and stopping by.” Lee is moving back home in a few months, but my mother still expects a courtesy visit when he’s in town. I look pointedly at his date, and he clears his throat.

“MaCee, Tyler, this is Angie. Angie my sister and her boyfriend.” She shakes our hands and gives us the obligatory response. I know already she’s a date for the night. My brother is scanning the room and about as interested in Angie as he would be watching paint dry. It’s kinda sad to watch, and I’m almost embarrassed for the poor girl. I excuse Tyler and myself to go congratulate Conrad and Rachel and lead Tyler away.

“So, was that awkward or was it just me?” Tyler asks as we walk away.

“No darlin’ that was definitely awkward.” We talk with Rachel and Conrad for a few moments then make our way to the bar. I excuse myself to go the bathroom while Tyler gets us something to drink.

When I come out I notice my nemesis Melody Sims talking to my man, she even has her hand on his arm. I see red and march—yes, I literally march—across the room. When I reach the two of them, I push Melody’s hand off Tyler and place myself in front of him. I’m not even playing this game with her. She best check herself.

“Back off Melody, we’re no longer in high school and he’s definitely not Daniel James. He’s off-limits.” I lean in to her and whisper, “I know about your doctor friend, and I know how you tried to implement me for your affair, but if you mess with him I’ll take you down so hard you’ll never come back from it.” I know I might be overreacting, but I can’t seem to stop myself. I have the strongest urge to drag her out into the parking lot by her hair. She pales slightly at the mention of her affair and backs up a step.

“I was only talking to him. Geez, MaCee. I was just trying to be polite. Besides, I don’t know what you could possibly mean about me and a doctor.” She tries to bluff her way out of this mess, but she keeps looking around to see if anyone is paying any attention.

“Does the Stay-Rite Inn mean anything to you?” She gasps as she takes another step back and then twirls around to stalk off. I stare after her until she disappears into the crowd. I hate that bitch and am not going to play her games.

“Whoa, that was so freakin’ hot! Damn, girl, I’m so turned on right now I could take you up against the wall with everybody watching!” I turn around to face a grinning Tyler and admit I’m a tad bit embarrassed. I don’t know what came over me, I saw that bitch touching him and I wanted to rip her head off. Cameryn arrives to the party and makes a beeline for me.

“What happened with Melody?” Now how the hell did she know something went on between Melody and me? She just got here, for Christ’s sake. I mean it could have been anyone who put her in a huff, nobody likes the bitch. I cross my arms and am about to deny it when Tyler decides to pipe in.

“She touched my arm and my little woman decided to rip her a new one. It was awesome! MaCee marched over here, pushed her way into the middle of us, and threatened her good and proper if she touched her man!” I look back at him with my mouth open and he’s standing there with his chest all puffed out looking like a banty rooster.

“I really don’t think it was quite like that. I very calmly explained to her we weren’t in high school anymore and there would be no more immature shenanigans.” Cam gives me a disbelieving look and some strange man who I’m just now noticing turns around and puts his two cents in.

“It’s what he said, wasn’t nothing calm about that and I think it made my night. I was bored out of my mind until this little lady stormed over here to lay claim to her man.” The stranger slaps his knee and lets out a loud laugh that has several people looking our way.

“Well sir, it’s rude to listen to other’s conversations. Cam, we don’t know him so don’t listen to a word he says.” This only causes the man to laugh harder. Once he calms down he sticks out his hand and introduces himself.

“I’m Father Townsend, priest of Our Holy Cross Catholic Church.”

Oh crap, I just basically called a priest a liar and that’s when I notice his collar. Damn, why didn’t I see that before I opened my big mouth? Can you go to hell for lying on a priest? I know my face must show my embarrassment, and I feel as though my cheeks are on fire. Cam and Tyler show me no mercy, and both start laughing at my expense. What’s with these people? They’re supposed to be my friends.

“I’m sorry, Father. Okay, maybe I wasn’t that calm,” I confess in a contrite voice that only causes the trio to laugh that much harder.

Tyler puts his arms around my waist and pulls me back against his chest. He leans down, nuzzles my neck and whispers in my ear, “I still think it was hot.” Which makes it somewhat better.

“I take it Melody is up to her old tricks. Hopefully, she realizes this isn’t high school. I mean everyone has to grow up sometime. Hey, look Jordan is here.” Cam waves to get Jordan’s attention and she walks over. We all bid goodbye to the priest to make our way over to a table. Cam and Jordan have really hit it off and are starting to become good friends in the past six weeks Cam has been home. I’m so happy because I really like Jordan, but then again, I knew they would be friends.

Once we’re seated someone announces it’s time for dinner and we’re given a choice of chicken or fish. I choose fish and when my plate arrives I notice Cam turning slightly green. She suddenly grabs her mouth and rushes into the bathroom. I excuse myself and rush after her.

She’s in a stall vomiting so I wet a paper towel to bring to her but wait a good distance away. She’s retching so hard I feel bad that there is nothing else I can do, but I don’t do vomit all that well. She finally finishes emptying her stomach and takes the towel to wipe her face.

“Are you all right?” I ask when she stands and makes her way to the sink. She’s very pale, and I worry she may be about to pass out.

“I think so, I don’t know what happened. My stomach was suddenly upset. I hope I’m not coming down with the flu or that nasty stomach bug everyone has at work.” She rinses her mouth then takes a seat on the bench by the door.

“Do you feel like going back out there? No offense but you don’t look so good. Why don’t you stay here and I’ll go make our excuses, then drive you home and make you some soup or something.”

“I hate to spoil your night. You’re here with Tyler. I’m sure I can drive myself home.” She’s so pale I know she doesn’t need to do that, so I wave her back down on the bench.

“No, I insist. Besides, you won’t ruin my night. Tyler will understand. I’m sure he’ll insist I do this. Now, wait here while I go make excuses. Besides, if you have a bug you don’t want to expose everyone.” She concedes rather easily which tells me she feels really bad.

I make my way back to our table and everyone looks up to me.

“How’s Cam?” Jordan asks looking as worried as does everyone else.

“She’s not feeling well. Hopefully, it’s not the flu. She said there’s been a stomach bug going around work and she believes she may have caught it. Tyler, I’m going to drive her home and take care of her tonight. Are you all right?” I ask.

“Of course, you do what you need to. I hate Cam is sick. Call me later and let me know how she is. I’ll let Rachel know what happened. I hope she feels better.” He stands to kiss me goodbye on the cheek, and I turn to return to Cam and get her home. Hopefully, she won’t be sick again.

On the way home, we stop at the Sack and Save and I pick up some soup and Sprit
e to help settle her stomach that seems to still be bothering her. She had me pull over once and she was so ill I came close to joining her. I may be a nurse, but I’m also a sympathetic puker. Let me hear retching and it takes everything to get the contents of my stomach to stay in place.

Cam decides she needs a shower when we arrive at her house. I’m starving because I left before I had dinner, so I order a pizza. I dig through Cam’s clothes and find some lounging pants and a T-shirt. I might as well get comfortable, we’re obviously staying in.

I’ve just gotten my pizza when Cam enters the room after her shower. “Yum, that smells amazing. I don’t know what my problem was, but I feel much better and am starving right now.” I look at her and she does look better, she’s no longer green.

“Are you sure you’re up for pizza? Maybe you ought to try some soup first.” I really don’t want a repeat of the great vomit fest we had going on earlier.

“No, I really do feel better after my shower and I don’t know, maybe it was something I ate that just didn’t agree with me.” She plops down beside me on the sofa and grabs a slice of pie. Oh well, her stomach, not mine. I reach out to get a piece and it reminds me of the many nights we’ve done this through the years.

“So, what really happened with Melody?” Cam knows me almost too well.

“I don’t know. I saw her with her hand on Tyler’s arm and saw red. You know she rubs me the wrong way, but I won’t have her playing her games with him. He’s different.”

“You really like him, don’t you? I’m glad, even though things didn’t end the way I wanted with Jay and I hurt like hell because of him, I still wouldn’t change falling for him.” She sniffs and I pull her into a hug. Would love to have just ten minutes with dear Jay. He would forever be a soprano after I was done.

“Enough with this, I don’t know why I’m feeling so emotional. Let’s find some stupid comedy on Netflix and laugh our asses off,” Cam says as she sits back on the sofa I grab the remote to flip through until I come across the Princess Bride and we both yell, “As you wish!” We burst into giggles like two teenagers and start the movie. My night is ending slightly different than I planned. Hot sex with my hot boyfriend was on the agenda, but things have changed since my friend needs me. Thank goodness, I have an understanding man, I’ll just have to make it up to him tomorrow night.
