Escape, the Complete Trilogy Page 70

by David Antocci

  She shook her head.

  He’s too smart.

“Natalia is the best at protecting people. I’m the best at catching them.”

Back on the front porch, she found her dad standing alone. “Where’s Mom?”

“She went inside. She couldn’t take all this,” he said, gesturing to the scene behind him. “You know how she feels about...”

“I know, Dad,” Alivia said, adjusting the bag on her shoulder. Her mother had never approved of her military career. Seeing this unfold on her front lawn would surely be too much for her.

Her dad held his arms out and she gave him a hug, resting her head on his shoulder for a minute.

He took her hand as they separated. “This seems serious.”

She nodded. “It is. Natalia and her team will...”

“I’m worried about my girl,” her dad said with a forced smile.

She smiled back, gave his hand a squeeze, and whispered, “It’s okay, Dad. I’ll be back soon.”

He gave her a look and with a twinkle in his eye said, “Give ‘em hell, Livvy.”

  Author's note

Thank you for reading my books! I would love to hear from you. You can email me from my website, www.Antocci.com, or follow me on Facebook and introduce yourself. I personally respond to everyone.

While this book is the end of the ESCAPE trilogy, it is nowhere even close to the end of my writing. In fact if you’re reading this, you’ve probably checked out the preview of my first NEST book on the previous page, so don’t forget to grab a copy!

I certainly hope you had as much fun reading the ESCAPE books as I had writing them. If you liked what you read, please tell a friend – or better yet tell the world by writing a quick review wherever you buy your books! Even a few short sentences are helpful. As an independently published author, I don't have a marketing department behind me. I have you, the reader. So please, spread the word!

  Thanks again so very much!

  All the best - Dave

  Acknowledgements

While it’s my name on the cover, I have a great team behind me that I want to thank. Over the life of writing this trilogy, I have worked with so many wonderful people. When I first got started, many simply donated their time, expertise, and brutally honest opinions of my writing. My first beta-readers and proofreaders keep me on my toes and help to whip the stories into shape. Lisa Antocci, Nicole Andries, Lindsay Russo, Christine Souza, Cindy Fogarty, and Mark “Kaz” Kazazian, THANK YOU! Another BIG thanks to Rob Bishop for helping to develop the original book trailer.

I worked with a wonderful professional proofreader on A New Life, Abigail Stefaniak, and I’m infinitely thankful for her keen eye and patience with my more-than-questionable spelling and grammar.

Throughout the ESCAPE series I have had the pleasure of working with an extraordinary editor, John Briggs of New Author Editing. Over the course of working on this project he has taught me a great deal about the craft of writing, and his insights have been indispensible.

Finally, a HUGE thanks to you, the reader! Your encouragement and support throughout the release of each of my novels gives me the confidence to keep moving forward. As a boy I dreamed of being a writer and telling my stories to anyone who would listen. You have made that little boy’s dreams come true, and are more important to me than you can imagine!

Thank you for reading my books and spreading the word to your friends! - Dave
