I didn’t know how to get myself out of this one. I couldn’t exactly tell Quinn Blair was here, in my bed, with a sexy omega mayor who we’d both just shared, taking our turn to knot.
The sound of feet on the staircase made me freeze, and I glanced over my shoulder in time to see Grayson reach the bottom step. He stilled, eyes wide on Quinn.
“Uh, hi?” He shifted nervously between his feet, and I gave him a glance over, taking in his plain red underwear and loose T-shirt with the Hawthorne Hurricanes logo splashed across it. It was my shirt, the one I usually wore around the house, and I knew Quinn had seen me in it more than once. The obviousness in his appearance didn’t stop there. He looked freshly fucked with messy ginger hair, swollen lips, and love bites marring his pale neck.
“Oh.” Quinn’s surprised stare jumped between us, and his lips twitched as though he was trying not to smile. “Hi, Mr. Mayor?”
I shifted into action, pushing Quinn back slightly so I could step between them, breaking Quinn’s curious stare away from Grayson. “I think you’ve got him confused for someone else,” I whispered hurriedly, trying to amend the situation. Not that I thought Quinn would run back to the newspaper and gossip to them.
“No, I don’t.” He rolled his eyes. “I know the mayor when I see him.”
Grayson cleared his throat and moved toward us. He ran a hand through his hair, the shirt too big to lift and give me a view of his slim stomach. What a pity. “I’d appreciate it if you didn’t tell anyone about this.”
Quinn smiled gently. “About what?”
“Thank you.” I grabbed his shoulder, squeezing it.
He shook his head in response. “What happens here is none of my business. I just came to see if you were okay.”
“He is.” Grayson shifted closer to me, his natural scent reminding me of the last week and a half. It nearly made my cock hard in my jeans, and I had to think of something else to stop giving anyone a show, seeing as I wasn’t wearing underwear. The last thing I wanted was to get an erection in front of my deceased cousin’s widower.
“Where’s Blair, then?” Quinn dug into the pocket of his jeans, tugging out his phone and frowning at it. “He hasn’t returned any of my calls.”
“Uh, I believe he might be in the shower.” A beautiful crimson flush colored Grayson’s cheek. “If you’re not Blair, that is?” He glanced at me, eyebrows raised.
His words earned another wide-eyed look from Quinn, and he glanced at me, questions in his eyes.
I didn’t exactly blame Grayson. I didn’t know how long he’d known Blair, but I gathered it wasn’t long, and he certainly didn’t know me like I thought he did. So, it was acceptable that he couldn’t tell us apart. Not many people could.
As if on cue, another thump of footsteps vibrated on the stairs, and I rolled my eyes. Blair walked as though he weighed a ton, but he always had. Emily and I used to joke he wanted everyone to know he was coming because of his own self-importance.
He had a towel wrapped around his waist and his chest was bare. Water droplets ran down his exposed skin. I didn’t miss the way Grayson eyed him, as though he wanted to drink the water off Blair’s body.
Even Quinn took a moment to stare but then he snorted. “Can you get some clothes on?”
“Don’t pretend you don’t love what you see, Quinn.” Blair leaned against the staircase, grinning. “Everyone wants a piece of this.”
“Maybe in your fantasies,” Quinn snapped, but amusement played across his face in the form of a smile and a chortle of laughter. “How do you fit through doorways with a head as big as yours?”
“Which head are you talking about?” He made a point of turning his attention on Grayson, licking his lips. He ran his fingers over the towel, where it hung loosely on his hips. “Both my heads are wide, just ask the mayor here.”
Grayson’s blush deepened until it was nearly the color of his hair, and he turned to Quinn. “Uh….”
It was the first time I’d seen him speechless. I’d watched him on the news, and he seemed well-versed in his speeches, but then he had people similar to Blair telling him what to say. Still, he never let questions throw him off-balance.
I took pity and glared at Blair. “Stop being a rude prick.”
Blair dropped from the last step to the floor and closed the distance between us. I puffed out my chest and we glared at each other. “You need to stop being a chivalrous prick. It’s desperate.”
“You’re not going to whip them out and see whose is bigger, are you?” Quinn asked from somewhere to the side of us, but I didn’t look at him, too busy with the stare-off I was having with Blair. He was my mirror image, right down to our height, skin blemishes, and even the shape of our nose. There were days when even Mom couldn’t tell us apart, and back during those good times, we used it to our advantage. I took some of his tests, and he talked to guys for me. But those times were long gone, they had been since the accident.
“Don’t need to, Grayson confirmed I’m bigger,” Blair sneered, sending me a disgusted glance. He broke our gazes by stepping back and looking at Grayson. “Didn’t you?”
Grayson’s serene face twisted in annoyance, and I saw the quick change in emotion, immediately warning me to back off. Blair wasn’t always the most intelligent when it came to subtle hints from people close to him though, because he smirked, waiting for an answer.
“I didn’t say that.” Grayson folded his arms, eyes narrowed fiercely. “And if I were you, Blair, I would stop making this a competition. I’m not a trophy you can win.” As if to make a point, he strode over to me and kissed me full on the lips. He melded his body into mine, and I accepted his warmth by dragging him closer. Then, when he was finished, he broke the kiss with a smile. “Can you take me home after I shower?”
I returned his smile with one of my own. “Of course. Anything you want.”
“Thanks, Bristol.” Throwing another glare over his shoulder, Grayson stormed up the stairs.
“Interesting.” Quinn bit his lip, his shoulders shaking in silent laughter. “As much as I’m enjoying the show, Mom has to go to work soon, so I have to pick up Reece. I don’t mind taking care of Emily for as long as you need, she’s actually very sweet, but keep me updated?”
“I’ll pick her up after school. Thanks for the help,” I said.
He winked at me. “No problem. I’ll see you this afternoon. Blair.” He nodded at him before he left out the front door again, leaving me and Blair standing there awkwardly.
Apparently Grayson’s words had shocked him into silence, something that happened rarely, and I felt bad for him. The shower turned on in the bathroom above us, and I heard Grayson moving around.
“What are you doing back in town? You never told me you were home.” With the quiet successfully broken, the tension between us drained away. It didn’t disappear completely, but it wasn’t thick enough to cut with a knife anymore.
“I got back last year.” Blair headed toward the kitchen, and I followed. He worked his way through the cupboards as though he still lived here, but I hadn’t changed things around, and he must have known that. I didn’t appreciate changes. I preferred things to stay the same. He found the coffee for my old brewer and opened it, scooping some into the machine. I watched him the entire time, waiting for him to answer me properly. He filled the machine with water and hit the button to brew the coffee. Blair hated talking, so sometimes it took him a while. “Didn’t think you’d want to know I was in Cherry Hollow.”
“Why wouldn’t I want to know? You’re still my brother.”
He snorted. “Don’t tug my cock, Bristol. You’ve hated me since I left.”
I frowned at his disgusting words. I never understood why he compared everything to sex and his cock. “Hated you? You’re my brother. I’ll never hate you. I’m mad at you. Do you blame me, though? You didn’t take any responsibility for Emily or this farm. You just up and left after Mom and Dad died.”
We both stared at the coffeepot
as it filled. In true Blair fashion, he couldn’t wait until it was finished. He moved the pot and held two mugs under the stream of coffee, spilling a little while transferring everything around until he had the pot back where it belonged again. He passed me a coffee with two sugars, black, just how I’d liked it since we were fourteen and tried it for the first time while Mom and Dad were sleeping. We thought we were being grownups, but instead we quickly got addicted to the caffeine. It’s why I had an unhealthy relationship with coffee in the morning.
I stared at his emotionless face. The way he went blank was what made him succeed as a publicist. He knew what to show the audience and what not to. I was different because I wore my emotions. “Aren’t you going to say anything?”
“I have nothing to say.” Blair walked straight past me. “I need to get dressed. I’m coming with you to drop Grayson at home.” He left the kitchen with the mug still in his hand, and I sighed. When he was in this kind of mood, I’d get nothing out of him. That had always been the problem with Blair, and another thing that made us so different from each other.
Mending our relationship wasn’t going to be easy.
Goddamn it!
Blair
I should’ve known Bristol would want to get all touchy-feely on me. He was the emotional twin, the one who wanted to talk about his feelings. I didn’t do that shit. Ever. I didn’t care if the conversation was with my brother or the omega I wanted to fuck, I just didn’t do it.
Speaking of omegas I wanted to bend over, Grayson stepped out from the bathroom, freshly dressed in a pair of long pants and an oxford shirt. I’m sure it was one of the old ones I left here before I left for college. In those clothes he looked every inch the mayor he was. Too bad his eyes narrowed the moment he saw me. Even though I’d fucked that nice, tight ass numerous times over the last twelve hours, I wanted more. I needed to feel his heat around me again and listen to the way he moaned around Bristol’s cock as they both came.
Damn it. I never imagined I’d fuck the same omega as Bristol. It was weird, but oddly hot, too. I didn’t have a hard-on for my brother, there was no way in hell I’d get incestuous, but the thought of spit-roasting Grayson with him? The memories fattened my cock.
Palming my cock through the material, I smirked at him. “Want to use that mouth one more time before we take you home?”
“We? No. Bristol is taking me home.” He crossed his arms, lips pursed. I’d never seen him so defiant before. He’d been nothing more than an eager puppy since I’d begun working for him. Strong, smart, but an eager puppy nonetheless.
“Know his name now, do you?” I leaned my shoulder against the wall, smirk growing. “You didn’t before I turned up. You thought he was me.”
“An honest mistake,” Grayson snapped, “one I won’t make again. Your brother doesn’t have your ego.”
“Baby, you love my ego.” I stepped closer until I invaded his personal space. He didn’t back away, merely stared up at me, eyes hooded with a flash of lust dancing in those moss-green depths. “Just as much as you love my cock. You screamed so loud for us last night. Did you enjoy being taken by twins at the same time? Did you like Bristol using your mouth while I used your asshole like the dirty little cum whore you are?”
He touched my chest, fingers tickling my bare skin until he laid a palm over my heart. He looked up at me with half-lidded eyes and licked his lips. I moved in closer, but instead of meeting me in a kiss, he shoved at me, sending me stumbling backward with the hot mug of coffee still in my hand. It nearly ended up spilling over me.
“No, thanks.” He grinned. “By the way, Bristol’s cock is bigger.”
“You’re lying.” I forced a smirk on my lips. “We both know I had you preening for more.”
Grayson’s eyes widened. “Wow. I knew you were a horndog, but you really are an egotistical asshole. How does someone prefer you over your brother?” He shoved past me and strode down the hallway, heading to the stairs. I knew he’d demand Bristol drive him home, which meant I only had a short amount of time to get clothes on and meet them at the old piece of junk Bristol called a truck.
I got a shirt on in record time, and I made it to the Ford just as they opened the doors to get in. As Grayson stepped up on the step to slide in, I came up behind him, nudging him to move over. He sent me a look of disbelief but moved to the center seat anyway.
Bristol shook his head and started the old girl. She rumbled a few times, and the entire cab shook when she finally revved to life.
“When are you going to get a new one? You can afford it.” I clipped my seat belt up and melted against the backrest. The rust made me cringe. I wondered if the rust could jump off this scrap of metal and onto my new Lamborghini sitting in the driveway next to us. Sometimes it felt possible.
“There are more important things than a new car,” Bristol grumbled as he reversed and turned the truck to drive out of the long, winding driveway.
“What’s more important?” I snorted and wiggled closer to Grayson, earning myself a narrowed-eyed stare. With the three of us in the cab, it was a tight fit, and he was squished between me and Bristol, his warmth seeping into me. His scent invaded the small space, reminding me of the smell and taste of his slick as I sucked him dry.
“Emily’s college fund.” Bristol made a sharp turn onto the road and the seat belt bit into my neck. I knew the bastard did it on purpose.
“Didn’t Mom and Dad put some away for that?”
“It went to their funeral. You’d know that if you didn’t skip town before the lawyer went through the will and expenses. You just took your inheritance when he offered it to you.” Bitterness seeped into every word he said, and a sick sense of guilt twisted at my gut. I never thought about Bristol and Emily when I decided to leave Cherry Hollow, all I knew was I had to leave.
I thrust the remorse deep down and sighed. “Yeah, well, not everyone wants to be stuck in this hellhole.”
“Yet here you are.” Bristol concentrated on the road, but I noticed the tension cut into the lines of his face. His jaw was tight, as though maybe he wanted to say more, but he hated conflict. Maybe that’s why he’d always been our parents’ favorite. He knew when to shut his mouth, unlike me.
“I have to go where my career takes me.” I shrugged.
Grayson touched Bristol’s fist on the wheel, his fingers turning white, and a weird sense of jealousy twisted inside me. Grayson was my omega. I saw him first, and the only reason he fucked Bristol was because he thought Bristol was me. So why the hell was he touching Bristol now?
“Do you have to be such an asshole?” Grayson directed the quiet words at me, but Bristol would have heard it, too. “He’s your brother.”
“No. He’s not anymore.” The words tasted of ash. When had we stopped being brothers? I couldn’t remember.
The rest of the drive was in silence. The only time one of us spoke was when Grayson instructed Bristol where to go. His house, or mansion was more accurate, sat on Cherry Hill with the rest of the elite. It had security cameras and personnel, and when we reached the gates, a big, buff man came over to see who was approaching. The moment he saw Grayson, he waved his hand and the gates opened.
Bristol drove the truck to the front of the house, and we all got out. Grayson hovered close to Bristol, but he was still half turned toward me when he said, “We should do this again.”
I didn’t know whether he was talking to Bristol or me, maybe even both of us, but he smiled and lowered his eyelashes as his gaze flicked between us.
“That sounds amazing.” Bristol stepped closer and kissed him on the cheek. “I hope we didn’t hurt you.”
I rolled my eyes. Typical Bristol thing to say. Pathetic.
“I’m fine. More than fine.” He cupped Bristol’s neck and dragged him down for a kiss so passionate even I curled my toes in my Ferragamo shoes. I shouldn’t have thought the sight of them kissing was hot, but I did. Then Grayson turned to me and did the same thing. I grabbed his ass, dragging
him closer and making him moan in my mouth.
He broke away and breathed deeply. “I’ll see you at work.”
“You will.” I winked at him and made an obvious show of rearranging my cock in my pants. His gaze flicked to the gesture, but he quickly diverted it again.
“Maybe we could get a coffee again?” Bristol stepped forward until he stood beside me, as though he didn’t want to be forgotten.
“Yes, definitely. I won’t think you’re Blair this time.” He cringed. “I am truly sorry about that, Bristol.”
He shrugged and his smile was easy because that’s who he was. Carefree and forgiving. “It happens. I forgive you.”
“Thank you.” Grayson fixed the collar on Bristol’s plaid shirt and patted his chest. “I’ve got your number now. I’ll give you a call.”
When the hell did that happen?
Bristol sent him a lovesick smile. The poor bastard. “Sounds good.”
“And what about me? Am I invited to this coffee date, seeing as I fucked you into oblivion, too?”
A maid who had come out of the double doors just in time to hear me speak tripped over her own shoes. Eyes wide, she apologized in Spanish before she went back inside with her hands over her ears.
Grayson sighed. “Thank you for scaring Bonita, but yes, you are invited too. I enjoyed… both of you.”
With a smile, and a kiss to each of our cheeks, he spun on his heel and walked into the house. We watched him until the doors closed before we headed back to the truck. Once Bristol had us out of the gates, he broke the very comfortable silence.
“I like him.”
I laughed. “Of course you do. You like any omega who pays attention to you.”
He smacked the steering wheel. “Why can’t we have a conversation without you insulting me, just once?”
There it was again, the guilt. It’s another reason I left Cherry Hollow as quickly as I did. I hated feeling it whenever I looked at my siblings, and since Mom and Dad’s death, it’s all I ever felt. So many things ran through my mind.
