"Who said anything about rent? I can move in with Mitchel."
Mom shakes her head. "I'm sure his mother won't allow that."
"Actually, she doesn't have a choice because Mitchel's brother owns the house and he already said I could move in."
I know it's not true but I want to shut her up. Although I know JT wouldn't mind me moving in with them, he risked his life to protect me earlier and I hadn't even got the chance to thank him.
Mom stays quiet and doesn't reply, she's probably fretting in case it's true because it would mean I would leave her too, just like Dad, and then she would be left with Paige and I know for a fact Paige had her heart set on college and would be off after her senior year.
I settle down and try to get comfortable, or as comfortable as possible while being crushed by mountains of clothes and boxes.
I check the time on the dash and see that it's 6.35 am.
I pull my hood up and bury my face in the fabric, breathing in Mitchel's scent. I'm never taking this thing off.
The leaving sign for Radley Springs comes into view and I squeeze my eyes shut, refusing to cry.
I officially hate Mondays, more than I did before.
