Another cartoon shows the difference between the “Emotive” and the “Analytical”: a general and his soldiers are preparing for battle. “Show the enemy your courage and heroism,” the general exhorts his men, then asks rhetorically, “… how many of you here are brave?” To which someone calls out, “40 braves, 30 cowards and 10 undecided.”
12Many historians claim that World War II was simply an extension of World War I as the victors did not treat the vanquished fairly.
13I don’t know how many great strides corporate women have since made, but the 2017 report of the international consultancy firm McKinsey, stated that there are currently 142 Filipino women holding professional or technical jobs for every 100 men. Under the care of holy women, she—along with seven other virgins—was entrusted to make the Veil that separated the Holy of Holies from the rest of the Temple. There she remained until aged twelve when she departed in order to fulfill her role to become the “New Temple”.
17To be sure, unequal distribution of wealth has been true throughout human history. Moreover, during periods of privation, it is those who are on the lower rungs of the social ladder who suffer the most as resources are concentrated in order to preserve existing structures. This in turn causes emigration among the lower classes, unless they rebel. In the case of the Philippines, privations for many have resulted in a diaspora: 12% of today’s population have emigrated abroad, primarily to the US where they constitute 20% of Asian-Americans, second only to the Chinese.
