Sean cupped Kyla’s face in his hands and gently pressed his lips against hers. He slowly pulled back and whispered, “I love you.”
“I love you.”
“May I kiss the bride?” Mike asked. He kissed Kyla on the cheek and then walked over and hugged Sean. “Congratulations.”
“Thanks.”
DeeDee hugged Kyla and whispered, “I knew you’d do the right thing.”
Chapter 74
SEAN AND KYLA EXITED MIKE and Dee Dee’s building, walking hand in hand, east on West Seventy-Second Street. They stopped at the corner of Central Park West and waited for the light to change. Kyla stole a glance at Sean and he smiled. The light changed and they crossed the street still not saying anything. The life of the city going on around them seemed to disappear against the excitement going on in their lives. They went to dinner as an engaged couple about to venture on their first vacation and business trip together, and left dinner as husband and wife.
“Maybe we should have kept the car?” Sean finally broke the silence.
“No, it’s a beautiful night for a walk.”
He looked down at the bouquet in her hand. “Lilacs.”
“The first flowers you sent me, were…”
“White lilacs,” he finished her sentence.
“Now what?” she asked rendering a smile.
“I’m not sure. We can go to a hotel or your place or my place.”
“Definitely not a hotel,” she quickly replied.
“Why not?”
“Because, there are things I need and…”
“Okay, we’ll go back to your place.” She didn’t respond. “Okay, then it’s my place.”
“No,” she quickly responded.
He stopped walking and pulled her to the side. “What do you want to do?” She looked at him and didn’t say anything. He stepped closer and repeated his question. “What…do you…want…to do?”
She softly replied, “I want to make love to my husband.”
He leaned in and whispered in her ear, “Your place.”
The heat of his breath saying those words, sent a chill through her body. She closed her eyes and swallowed hard. He took her hand and walked back across the street and hailed a taxi. Normally, it took a while for them to get a taxi. But tonight, their wedding night, the minute he put his hand up, a taxi stopped. They got inside and sat apart, holding hands while not saying a word, not looking at each other, but staring out the window.
The taxi pulled up in front of Kyla’s building and they both were nervous about facing Jerome. He was always able to read when there was something going on between them. They walked inside and were surprised to see Jerome wasn’t working tonight. They rode up to her apartment silent, still holding hands. They walked inside and the quiet of the apartment intensified the moment. Sean closed the door and watched as Kyla walked down the hall. He placed his coat on the chair in the living room, walked down the hall, and stood in the doorway of her bedroom.
He watched as she took her coat off and laid it on the bed. “May I come in?”
“Yes.”
He stepped closer and slid his finger down her back followed by a kiss. “Your back is amazing. I love watching you walk in front of me.”
She turned to face him and put her arms around his neck. “Really?”
He pulled her closer, letting his hands glide down her back, resting on her behind. “And your behind…mmm, that behind caused me a couple of repentant nights a few months ago.”
“How so, Mr. Prescott?” She smiled.
He brought his lips to her ear and whispered, “That’s a single man’s secret.”
He kissed her neck and moved his mouth along her shoulder and back to her mouth. Covering her mouth, he kissed her harder. Kyla liked kissing Sean. It was the one fantasy that far exceeded her expectations. He grabbed her lips in between his, drawing her in closer. They stood, wrapped in each other’s arms, kissing like wild teenagers.
A little while into their marital make out session, she broke the kiss. “Uhmm,” she reached up to wipe her lipstick from his mouth and he stopped her.
“That’s my wife’s lipstick.” They both smiled.
“Your wife?”
“Yeah, she’s pretty hot. She’s got these incredible thick legs,” he glided his hand along her thighs as he spoke. “I’ve seen hints of them, but I’m looking forward to when I can fully see them.” He eased his hand under her dress and glided his hand along her legs up her behind, pulling her close.
“Oooo,” she pulled back.
“What’s wrong?”
“Your belt buckle.”
He stepped back. “I’m sorry.”
“It’s okay,” she brushed the side of his face. “I’m going to shower and change.”
He kissed her and walked out, closing the door behind him.
She opened her closet and pulled out the Barneys bag and walked across the hall. She gently knocked on the guest room door. A few seconds later Sean opened the door and she handed him the bag. “What’s this?”
“A wedding present.”
“When did you…”
“When I got the ring. It’s a little something I thought you might like,” she confessed.
“Is it okay to open it?”
“Yes.”
He placed the bag on the dresser, lifted out the tissue wrapped item, and carefully unwrapped it. He held up the grey silk robe, smiling. “Baby, this is nice, thank you.” He kissed her.
“There’s more.”
He reached inside the bag and pulled out the box and lifted the lid. “Slippers.” He looked at her and his smile disappeared. “I feel bad because I don’t…I mean I did, but its…”
“I don’t want you to feel bad. This isn’t your wedding gift, it’s a little something I thought you might like to wear on our wedding night.”
“I will and it’s my favorite color.”
“I know.” He reached inside the bag, fishing. “What are you doing?”
“Looking for the bottoms.”
“Honey, I don’t think you’ll…”
“My bad.” His smile returned.
She kissed him. “That’s okay.” She walked out and closed the door behind her.
She walked back to her bedroom, picked up her bouquet lying on the bed, placed it in water, and set the vase on the night table. She lit the candles she had around the room, turned the bed down and sprinkled some parfum scented body powder on the sheets. When she got Sean’s robe, she also picked up a little something for herself. She knew that once she returned from her trip, she wouldn’t have much time to go shopping.
After her shower, she stood in front of the mirror admiring herself. She covered herself in CoCo, Sean’s favorite parfum and slipped on the beautiful cream silk and lace robe. She wanted everything to be special for him. She stood still, lost in her thoughts. Sean was the only man she had shared her apartment with, her sanctuary as she called it. In all the years she was with Eric, she never allowed him entry to her home. Keeping her boyfriends away was her way of controlling the relationship. From the moment she let Sean inside her sanctuary as a friend, she didn’t realize she had also let him into her heart.
Sean knew everything about her and had free rein in her home. Not only had she made room for him and Simon in her heart, she’d also made room for them in her home. Making love to Sean wasn’t only the beginning of their marriage, it was the start of her new life. She never thought she was capable of loving a man. She thought she was destined to be like the rest of the women in her family…the other woman only good for sharing a bed with. The woman he fed the lies to, who was left to die alone, regretting her choices. That’s who she was. Now, she was Mrs. Sean Prescott, a new creation with a clean slate, ready to live the life she was destined to live.
However, God doesn’t always play by our rules and tonight’s impromptu wedding wasn’t part of her new life plan. But here she was, standing next to her bed preparing to spend the night with
her husband. She’d pretended to be calm when Sean was talking about her body, but when he eased his hand along her thighs and behind, she felt her heart lodge in her throat. She felt like she did the first time she made love…scared, excited, nervous, not quite sure what to expect. However, she also felt pressure to perform. Sean hadn’t been with a woman in a long time, and she didn’t want to disappoint him. “God, You made this happen tonight, so I’m counting on You to make it a memorable experience for both of us, in Jesus’ name, Amen.”
She closed her eyes hoping the quiet would calm her racing heart. She took a deep breath and walked into the living room. The sound of the music playing surprised her. She stood still, looking around the room.
“What’s all of this?”
“Romance.” Sean walked toward her modeling his gift.
“You look very handsome.”
He took her hand and led her to the sofa. “Sit down.” She joined him on the sofa admiring the impromptu romantic touches splashed around the room. “There wasn’t much in the fridge.”
“I know, I emptied it yesterday.”
He poured her a glass of mineral water and handed it to her and then, poured one for himself. “Here’s to the next phase of our life.” They clinked glasses and sipped. He placed his arm around her and they got comfortable. “I remember someone saying they couldn’t wait until we got married so we could be like this all the time.”
She wrapped her arms around him. “I vaguely recall that.”
His hand dropped down and rested on her behind.
This was nice, but she didn’t want this to be how they spent their wedding night. Less than an hour ago, he was going on and on about her thighs and behind and making suggestive comments. Now, sitting on the sofa with very little fabric between them, he was quiet and still.
“Are you okay?” she asked.
“Yeah, I was just thinking, this isn’t how I planned our first time.”
“Me either.”
“I thought, we’d get married before we left for the airport and our first time would be at the resort.”
“Really?” She sat up and her robe opened slightly, revealing her breasts. “And what made you think I would have agreed to that?”
“I can be very persuasive when I have to be.” He smiled.
“I’ll have to remember that.” She tucked her hair behind her ear.
“Seriously though, after the other night, and seeing you in that dress tonight, just confirmed we couldn’t take that trip together without being married.”
“I think we…”
“Honey, I’m a strong man, but I will be the first to admit that since we got engaged, it’s been a bit of a challenge.”
“Is that what you meant by, what did you say, a single man’s…”
“Yeah.”
She traced his lips with her finger. “You have the most amazing lips.” She leaned forward and kissed him, letting her lips linger. She pulled back and rested her elbow on the back of the sofa. “I thought you would have been all over me, once we got home.”
“When we got home,” he pulled her robe back a little further, smiling at the sight of her breasts. He gently brushed his finger across her nipple and she smiled. “That was my first impulse, and then you kicked me out.”
“I didn’t kick you out.” She tilted her head.
“And then you gave me my present and I thought we needed to slow it down.”
She opened his robe a little and placed a kiss on his chest slowly moving her mouth up to his. She pressed her body into his and then her lips against his again. She slowly pulled back and whispered, “You don’t have to take it too slow.”
He wrapped his arms around her pulling her to his chest. They laid on the sofa a while kissing and touching and then he whispered, “I think it’s time we moved this into…”
“Our room?” She smiled and leaned back against the sofa, adjusting her robe.
He stood up and helped her onto her feet, stepping aside to let her walk in front of him. His smile covered his face as he watched her walking. She stopped and turned to face him, “Put the candles out and turn off the stereo.” He walked around the living room putting the candles out. “And check the door,” she called from the bedroom.
“We’ve been married less than four hours and I’ve already got a honey do list,” he called back. He checked the door, turned the lights off and walked down to the bedroom. “I heard things change once you get married, but I…” He stood in the doorway with his mouth wide open. “Wow!”
She was standing next to the bed with her robe opened and draped around her elbows. His eyes were fixed on her and he didn’t notice the little romantic touches she had added to the room.
“You know, if I didn’t have such great self-esteem, I’d be a little upset that you didn’t comment on my front side.” She let her robe fall to the floor.
He stepped closer, clearing his throat. “Your front side… is even more amazing than your back side.”
He stepped closer and she opened his robe. She looked down and then back up smiling. “You have a pretty amazing front side yourself.”
He pulled her closer filling her mouth with his tongue, arousing her. He eased her down onto the bed staring at her.
“God, you’re beautiful.”
He took his robe off and climbed into bed, lying next to her. Tracing a line from her lips down the front of her body to the inside of her thigh with his finger, he kept his eyes fixed on hers while arousing her with his hand. She began to softly moan as his touch got more intense. She bit her lower lip, trying to contain her excitement. He teased her more with his hand and her cries grew louder.
He slid his tongue inside her mouth, moving in sync with the rhythm of his hand down south as her moans grew louder. He pulled back watching her body move to the rhythm of his hand. He moved his mouth across her cheek, down her neck, and along her shoulder before resting his lips on her breasts. He brushed her nipple with the tip of his tongue and she moaned louder. She closed her eyes and reached her hands above her head grabbing hold of the sheets, trying to contain herself. He placed hot kisses along her breasts bringing her to her boiling point when he captured her nipple in between his lips gently sucking. Sean had found her joy spot. He teased her more with his hand and she cried out. She’d never had a lover bring her to full arousal so quickly. He moved his hand slightly and she cried out louder announcing she’d been satisfied.
Breathing hard, she pulled his face up to hers, kissing him. He wrapped her up in his arms, rolling around the bed, kissing and touching. He rolled her onto her back, pinning her arms down, and interlocking their fingers. He moved his mouth up to her ear and whispered one simple word, “Now.”
He let go of her hands and she smiled as she felt how excited he was against the inside of her thigh. She eased her hand down to help him and he stopped her. Instead, he took charge and guided them into pleasure. He took his time slowly bringing her to ecstasy again. She was excited to have someone take control, leading her. Sean wrapped her tightly in his arms as he pushed them into unity. Each push was followed by an even louder moan until she cried out. He found her joy spot, again.
She could barely breathe. He pushed harder and she cried louder. All the times she had imagined herself with Sean, she’d never thought it would be so intense. She pictured his hands and lips slowly moving along her body, but never like this. Maybe it was because it had been a while for him. Or maybe it was her imagination making it seem better than it was because that’s what she wanted. She closed her eyes and felt the full force of Sean inside her and her question was answered when she cried out louder than before. No, it wasn’t her imagination, it was him. She grabbed him from behind pushing him deeper inside until finally, he cried out.
It was thirty-five degrees outside, but it was over a hundred degrees inside their bedroom. Their bodies were wet and hot. She smiled as she wiped the moisture from the sides of his face. He looked down at her smiling and breathing hard.
He started to move and she stopped him. “No, I love how you feel.”
He rested his head on her shoulder. In between heavy breaths, he whispered, “Anything you say, Mrs. Prescott.”
They stayed wrapped in each other’s arms a little longer before he rolled over and climbed out of bed. She pulled the wet sheet across herself, and sat up watching as Sean walked to the bathroom.
The sound of the toilet flushing and the water running couldn’t block out the wicked thoughts she was having about her husband. Wow, she had a husband. She looked up at Sean walking back to bed and started smiling. His body was incredible. She felt like a school girl seeing her first nude male statue. She was flushed with excitement and couldn’t stop smiling. No man had ever made her feel like this…loved.
“What are you smiling at?”
“I’m trying to decide which view I like better.”
He climbed into bed and pulled her close. “And what did you decide?”
“I like ‘em both.” She inched closer, inhaling his scent. “So, what are we going to tell everyone?”
“We definitely won’t be telling them about this.”
“Funny. I mean, about our getting married.”
“Nothing, we’ll stick to our plan.”
She looked at him smiling, and then climbed onto his lap and kissed him. “You’re a good husband.”
“And you’re a good wife.”
She was a wife now, not some married man’s girlfriend or plaything, but a wife. The revelation of that excited her. She leaned in closer and said, “The Bible says, make your requests known.”
“You don’t say,” he smiled as he tucked her hair behind her ear. “And what do you want Mrs. Prescott?”
She eased her hand down the inside of his thigh, touching him. She leaned in closer and whispered, “Mrs. Prescott, would like for her husband, Mr. Prescott, to make love to her again.” The feel of her hot breath floating into his ear excited him. She leaned back, smiling.
He looked at her, returning the smile, and replied. “I believe that can be arranged.”
