by Eden Rose

I roll my eyes. “No greetings and salutations?” I quip.

He growls. “Look, asshole. Did you complete the fucking job or not? If you are just going to waste my time, then go piss up a rope!”

I chuckle. “Careful, sounds like someone is getting a little too emotional.”

“I didn’t hire you for no reason. I know you are capable of completing this job and you need to deliver!”

“How do you even know where Amanda is?” I demand. “If you know where she is or if she’s alive then spit it out!” I yell.

“Now who is getting too emotional?”

I park the car in the visitors’ parking lot. “You know what? I think you don’t have any information and you’re too afraid to do anything. You’re too afraid to target Pop yourself and you are sending in a pro.”

“You honestly think I don’t know anything?” The man asks.

  “I don’t think you do.”

“Check the hospital where your goomah works.”

With that, the bastard hung up on me.

He knows about Calista? What else does he know about? If he fucked up anything I have with Calista, I’m going to kill the bastard myself.

Walking into the hospital, I walk straight over to the nurses’ station. “I’m looking for Dr. Inzo,” I demand.

“Is this an emergency?” The nurse asks me and I immediately recognize her from the bar.

I raise my eyebrow. “I need to talk to her right now. It’s an emergency.”

The nurse crosses her arms over her large chest. “I don’t fucking like you.”

“Do you need something?” A man asks from behind me.

I turn to see a doctor with a scowl on his face. “I need to speak to Dr. Inzo.”

“Why?” He’s about my age but he’s asking too many questions for my liking.

  “It’s an emergency.”

“Why do you want to see my daughter?” Another man asks.

He’s dressed impeccably with the wiseguy accent. The guy in front of me is clearly inside the administration. “You are Dr. Inzo’s father?” I question.

The man nods holding out his hand with a big ruby on his pinky finger.

  Holy fucking shit.

This is Vincent Moretti and he’s Calista’s dad.

I’ve been hired to kill my girlfriend’s father.

  To Be Continued…

Victor and Calista’s story is not over yet. Not by a long shot. They will be back in the summer of 2018! Until then, here’s a bonus scene from Amanda.

  XOXO, Eden Rose

  Amanda

I don’t remember much when I was taken. I remember vaguely I was shot in the neck with something sharp and a hood was placed over my eyes.

What I do remember was the pain. I remember the pain of knowing Victor probably thinks I’m dead. If he doesn’t think that then he’s stupid. I’ve been gone for a couple of years and I know this because these people have enjoyed reminding me repeatedly how long I’ve been gone.

I miss Victor. All those nights I begged him to stay home and the one night I didn’t, was the night I needed him the most.

I wake up in the hospital bed only wanting one thing.

I want Victor. I want him to hold me and tell me everything is going to be all right. Let him kiss away the tears which fill my eyes.
