“FUCK!” I yell as I want them dead. I know that was not Mitchel that opened the portal. So, they have more than one caster helping, or Mary-Anne had a little magic left.
“Aunt Tania, who opened the portal for them? It wasn’t Mitchel. He is still with Hayden!” I send through mind-link.
“No that was me by accident, I opened the portal to help get Mitchel and Hayden to you. Because of Mary-Anne stealing Hayden’s magic it connected to her instead. I didn’t think they would have a counter put in place. Any magic used to help you or someone else with them nearby will connect to them instead.” Tania replies with frustration.
Another howl erupts and the wolves all start to come out. Some are hurt bad, I put my bow away, and start to move over to the ones that can’t shift back because of injuries. I start to connect to my surroundings as the last of the night sky lightens with the rising sun. I need to do this quickly.
Chapter 6
~ Tenelle ~
I concentrate and start healing as many as I can, as much as I can. With Apollo starting his ride across the sky, my powers start to recede. I get everyone to a point they will heal on their own in a few hours. Many of them have shifted back into their human forms and Daxton is using his magic to dress them as they do.
“Thank you, for the help. My shoulder feels much better, bitch tried to rip out my arm with her magic. She isn’t train very well; she could have killed us all if she were.” A warrior says when I walk over and check him for more serious injuries.
“She isn’t trained at all; she is human and stealing her little brother’s magic.” I answer him, causing him and others nearby to growl.
“Wow, and I thought Leader Nimue had it bad!” A female says.
“Nimara.” I say moving over to check her out too.
“What?” The same female asks.
“Her name is Nimara now, she bonded with her lycan and she ascended to become the goddess Gaia. She is still here on our plane though. She killed her Uncle Tim and Alpha Eric Nickolas and wiped out their packs of the assholes.” I say looking her over also.
“How do you know this? We would have heard about it.” The warrior from before says.
“Because she is my clan Leader and cousin. My father Hermes is her cousin.” I say looking at the warrior, I move on to others leaving the two standing there stunned. By the time the sun is completely up, I have bandaged and attend to all the injured wolves. Daxton and Enox were helping get them fed and making sure, everyone had coffee. I see a small collection standing around two extremely large men. They seem to be giving out the orders, the two warriors I was talking to before, have attached themselves to me. Like Daxton, I have picked up new friends.
“Sorry to interrupt, but I need to check and make sure you are all good. I don’t want someone dying from internal bleeding.” I say to the group who open a bit. I start to run my hand over the first warrior, only to be met with growls. “Shut it! I am not dealing with a pushy Alpha; I have seen enough damage cause by two in the last year. I am healing your warrior. Deal with it!” I say glaring at the extremely large male on my right.
“Well, seem like someone is pushy herself. Especially for a Luna.” The warrior I am check says.
“My name is Tenelle, I am Hermes’ daughter and a Messenger of the God’s. Well, when they aren’t using Google. You want a gentler hand, then go find another woman because I don’t bow to anyone. Respect is earned, not demanded. I do not need someone to fight my battle.” I say stepping back and giving control to Snow. This group has pissed me off. My shift goes quick, and Daxton manages to get my clothes off before I ripped them. Gasp are heard when we lift into the air and Snow goes to our tree to sit.
“Fuck she is up in the damn tree again. Enox come get her ass out!” Rock yells, Snow looks down at the man that turns into a giant worm and sticks out her tongue.
“Hey Rock, I think Snow is flipping you the bird!” Enox laughs and shift himself to come up to me. “Hey little feather, what is the matter? If you want, we can get a ball and throw it for them!” He says snickering. I start laughing and Snow is too.
“That is not nice Enox, besides, we would need a tennis ball launcher and a few hundred tennis balls.” Snow tells him and just fluffs up her feathers.
“Come down please, they will be nice, or I turn them into barbequed hotdogs!” Enox says and rubs his head against Snow’s feathers.
“Ok, is there any food left for us or do I need to go hunt something down?” Snow asks when both our stomachs growl.
“We have lots. I bought enough for all of us because I notice their scent before the first attack on our camp here. Figured we would eventually need it.” Enox says as we land back on the ground.
“What is it with you and that tree Snow?” Rock asks walking over to us and throwing clothes at Enox.
“It was the tree my dad use to rest in when he traveled to deliver messages.” Snow says and Rock nods with a small smile of understanding. I shift back before Enox, he wants to keep me shielded from the wind and other males’ eyes. The young male warrior comes up after I am dressed to talk.
“Luna, I am sorry for being rude. I am just not use to having someone mother us and have attitude. I am sorry.” The warrior says. Enox just looks at him, trying to figure him out.
“It’s fine, just get used to it if you’re coming back to Silver Shadow with us. All the women are like that, even the little ones.” I say, he smiles at me and nods. The female and male warrior come back over to me and growl at the wolf. They must be older and more experienced, they could be his parents too, never can tell with the lycan and werewolf species. My stomach growls again and Enox picks me up. The warriors look at us not sure what to do, he is a dragon after all.
“He’s my mate, don’t worry. I have 4, the wizard over talking to the two big guys is one of them too. I haven’t found the last 2 yet.” I tell them over Enox shoulder as they follow us back to the tent.
“Well, I think you have. You are our Luna, our Alphas mate. Alpha Nazareth and Alpha Levi were the two big guys you just mouthed off too.” The female warrior says and starts laughing so hard she is crying from the face I make.
“What are your names? I am Tenelle, this big blue dragon here carrying me around is Enox and the wizard is Mitchel Daxton. That is a long story, I will explain later. Oh, my owl’s name is Snow.” I say just as Enox throws me on the bed, I giggle because he also tickles me.
“I am Watson, this is my mate Nadia and the pup that apologized is my little brother Xander.” Watson says, “Alpha Nazareth assigned us to protect you. Sorry we didn’t get to you as quickly as we should have.”
“I thought you did, who was it that blocked me from Trin’s attack?” I ask and then taking a bite of my bacon sandwich Enox just handed me.
“That was me.” One of the big guys says coming into the tent.
“Luna Tenelle, this is Alpha Levi. One of your mates.” Nadia says and bows out of the way with her sandwich. A tall man, with broad shoulders walks around Nadia. His hair and eyes are like Enox and Daxton’s a dark blue, but he has it in a brush cut. He has tattoos that start at his broad shoulders and run down both his arms mainly of wolves and each wolf looks different. He is 6’2”, with sun kissed skin. He could give the gods a run for their money, his face was chiseled with a tapered nose and strong chin. He has a scare that runs across his forehead and down his right eye, there is a bit of one going in a parallel line but is very short and ends just above his eyebrow.
“Ohh cool. You’re the baked apples I can smell!” I says in between bites of my sandwich. “This is Enox and the wizard behind you is Daxton, they are also my mates. Thank you for the help today, it’s appreciated.”
“I thought you didn’t need someone to fight your battles.” Levi smirks trying to use my own words against me.
“I didn’t say thank you for being a block in my line of sight. I said thank you for the help, and if I really wanted to kill him. I would just walk into his dreams, cause
him to go insane and kill himself for me. I don’t need to get dirty to do the same job as your puppy does.” I say with a straight faced and yes, I just bitch slapped the smirk off his.
“Levi don’t piss her off, she’s a dream walker and from what I could feel when she healed us, a goddess as well. Not a good idea to piss off your mate, you would spend eternity stroking your own cock then.” The other one says when he comes in. “I am Nazareth, it’s nice to meet you Tenelle, and Snow of course. She has beautiful feathers!” He tells me, he is taller and broader then Levi. He could actually pass for being Enox’s twin more than being twins with Levi. His hair is in a ponytail with an under shave done. His eye and nose are narrow, and his lips are soft and subtle. He too has tattoos that start at his shoulders and wrap around to his back. Both arms also have complete sleeves done.
“See told you!” Enox says and chuckles when I smack him.
“Cinnamon and brown sugar! Great now I have a craving.” I say shaking my head. Nazareth smiles at me, his scent is going to cause a lot of problems. I already have a sweet tooth!
“So, it is the four of us then to balance out this little firecracker!” Levi says and Nazareth automatically does a Gibbs. Leaving Levi rubbing the back of his head in pain.
“Technically, three and a half. I need to connect to my other half.” Daxton says, sitting down beside me.
“What do you mean? I am Nazareth too by the way, this dumbass is Levi. He doesn’t use his brain too often. Well other than to fight or in bed.” Nazareth says.
“Oh, believe me, I know who you two are. There isn’t many that don’t know the Celestial Alpha twins. You guys are known for wandering and helping those in need. I guess it’s time for you all to settle down. I am Daxton McGill, and I am half of the Solar Celestial guard, Mitchel who is unfortunately batting for the wrong team is the other half.” Daxton says and gets a what the fuck look from the Alphas.
“I have that fixed, well sort of. I just need to figure out how to put you two back together.” I say and Dax scrunches his eyebrows when looking at me. “Mitchel wants to be connected again; he wants to be where he was meant to be. He believed lies that Trin, and Mary-Anne fed him, I have straightened that out. He has been looking for you also Dax, he wants to be complete, and love me like you are supposed to.”
“How long will it take to get back to your clan?” Levi asks.
“30 seconds. Why?” I ask just as a warrior comes back into the tent.
“Alphas, Luna! There is a powerful Lycan female and a Sorceress here.” The warrior says shaking. I stifle a giggle at the fact he is scared of Nimara, her daughters are the ones he should be terrified of, not their mom.
“Nimara! Aunt Tania!” I scream getting up to run out the tent door again. I round out to my left from the tent. There in the clearing is my leader and Aunt. Onyx is here too, he has Hayden on his back, but no Mitchel. I look at them questioningly, why did they not bring Mitchel back too.
“Hello, my favorite little owl!” Tania says giving me a hug and kiss. “Mitchel kept Trin and Mary-Anne away from the den for us to get Hayden out safely. He told them, the bugs were back and blocked the door to Hayden’s room. Making it so he couldn’t get Hayden without getting swarmed by the insects. The Shadow Bright clan is angry at Trin, he did something to them and now they are getting even.”
“They aren’t the only ones, Zed said that the Shadow Elves went at them too. Could this be because of me? Maybe it’s because Trin walked away from his sacred duty as a Celestial guard.” I say looking at Tania, who is lost in thought.
“We should start getting these warriors checked and moved back to the clan territory, we are sitting ducks out here. Trin and them were trying to get into the house for weapons, although they didn’t look to good. Was that your handy work cousin?” Nimara asks still standing in her lycan form.
“Yes, that bow is amazing!” I say causing my leader to laugh. Daxton starts to check out the wolf pack and Tania opens a portal and starts to send them home. Kai and Scott are waiting on the other side to help with anything they need.
“Enox!” Vixen roars as she lands, “Trin is on his way back, they are carrying weapons, Mitchel is bound in iron. I think they suspect he is betraying them.”
“Or they are doing it to get to Tenelle, Mitchel is the other half to Daxton. He is technically her mate and has claimed her.” Enox says. The last of the wolves are cleared and going through the portal when a gunshot goes off. Onyx opens a cavern, taking the tent, Hayden, and Vixen all in one go. I push Enox through the portal and it closes, but I don't see Daxton. I look at Tania, she and Nimara stand there with me.
“Get Nimara back to the clan. We can’t have her hurt! I will deal with them.” I say low enough that only Tania and Nimara can hear me.
“Like fuck! We do this together; it is what family is for.” Nimara says, just as another shot is fired and I see the world go black. I wake up in the evergreen forest again, I know I was hit. There is no burning, so it wasn’t silver. Even though I am an Owl shifter, silver seems to do a lot of damage, it affects mom and the other Birds of Prey the same way. I look around to see if dad is here, but I feel very alone when I find he isn’t.
“Your father wasn’t the one to bring you this time, I was. Thank you for coming and for taking the initiative to train with Hecate. It has come in handy I see.” A beautiful woman with ground length dark blue hair says. She is wearing a short black dress and gold sandals. Power rolls off in waves, and it makes me sleepy. This must be the true goddess of night, Nyx.
“Thank you, goddess. How may I serve you?” I bow to one knee; I am still their messenger and servant. I must still show respect.
“Well first you can get Nimara to lift the ban on Amazon. I saw the cutest little dresses I thought the girls should have.” Nyx says and I start to chuckle, “Second now that you have found Mitchel and Daxton. I need for you to let them die.” I look at the goddess with horror, I will lose my mate if I do that. I can’t, I have found them, I promised Mitchel I would fix them and make him and Daxton one again.
“Goddess, why would you ask me to let my mate die? I gave them my word I would fix this! Please don’t take them from me. I am sorry if I have done something to anger you! I will do anything, but please don’t take him from me!” I beg as tear streak down my face, I feel so broken with the thought of losing my mate and breaking my promise.
“It’s not something you are being punished for. I know the pain that this is going to cause but please, for your sake and the worlds this must happen. I am sorry Tenelle, this was your task to find the lost Solar Celestial Guard. I am sorry that this was the way you were to find him though.” Nyx says coming to hold me as I break down in tears, unable to stand or hold myself up. I start to fade and know I am going back to feel the worst pain anyone could ever experience.
I come to just in time to see Trin send Mitchel flying backwards with a swipe of his claw. I scream and feel Snow rip through my body taking to the air. She dives at Trin, but then changes course and goes for Mitchel’s body instead. When we get to him, he’s gasping for air and holding his chest. His ribs are crushed, his lungs punctured and taking in blood.
“I am so sorry Snow; I should have saved you. I should have stopped them before they came back. I am so sorry!” Mitchel says as blood starts to come out of the corner of his mouth.
“Mitchel, I love you and I will make them hurt for taking you away from me! I have always loved you!” Snow says as the light in his eyes fade and a searing pain rips through our chest. We look up to see Mary-Anne standing with a knife stuck into Snow. She give me control and when I shift back, I smile at Mary-Anne.
“How does it feel? You stupid bitch!” Mary-Anne says, Trin comes running over and hits her.
“She is the only way for us to see the map! If she dies, then so does what we were trying to achieve.” Trin says, when Mary-Anne gets up.
“To bad, killing my mate doesn’t help you either. Now I lose my power, I am
nothing now. Thank you though for giving me peace.” I say looking at Trin, who starts to panic and checks Mitchel. Trin starts to swear, realizing his mistake in killing his best friend. I pull the knife from my chest and lay down as darkness consumes me again.
“Snow, leave. They are going to try and save me, to get our gifts. I will do the same thing I did with Hayden, but you need to leave. When this is over, we will come back to each other. I love you Snow!” I say hugging Snow, she stands in front of me with the saddest eyes. She misses him already, and when I look at my wrist our mate mark from Daxton and Mitchel is completely gone.
“I will go and stay with Enox and the others, so your mom won’t worry. Tenelle, why couldn’t we save him? I miss him so much!” Snow says and tears start to fall from both our eyes.
“I don’t know, I feel as empty as you do, I miss him too. Now go before they get that damn machine hooked up to us.” I say and I feel Snow pull from me too. I go back into myself and imagine an evergreen forest, somewhere so big you could get lost in and never find your way out. I don’t need a house without doors or windows, this will be enough.
Snow sends me images of the guys, hurt and angry. Enox just holds her and tells her that they will fix this. She sends me the image of Nimara and Tania walking through the portal with Mitchel being carried through by the Shadow walkers. They all look broken, when they lay both Mitchel and Daxton to rest in the Memorial cavern. The world seems to stop, every now and then Enox talks to me. He feels lost without me there, I smile and give him a hug. I always tell him I love him and that he needs to help the others.
