“Mom, while you are out hunting to feed them. The Shadow walkers can keep them warm and safe, maybe they can even help hunt. I will start to take dad’s duties to the gods. I am sure they will help us as well; I am sure Persephone will let her Harpies come to help you teach the little ones how to fly when it comes time. Or maybe they can help with feeding them too, they are amazing hunters!” I say remembering what happened. Once the memory is done, I shift out. That day was hard, but we gained friends and support from so many. When it all happened, the Harpies were there for us within hours after my dad died. We didn’t have the fancy equipment back then, so the Harpies helped set on the eggs. Out of the 43 eggs that were waiting, 38 of them hatched and all 38 are now out in the world with others, it was both a day of lost and life. The Harpies and Shadow races coming to help was the most amazing part of a horrible day that happened 8 years ago. Mom shift back from Glory and looks at me still crying.
“Dad, please come and comfort her. She needs you.” I whisper into the sky as mom kneels in front of me holding on.
“Go find that little bastard! What he has done is against the Celestial laws!” Nico says coming from my left and lifting mom from the ground. She curls into his chest and he holds her tighter. I knew both Nico and mom have lost their mates because of witches, but I never knew they became chosen mates. “Sue, my beautiful Sue. You are ok, I am right here and even Hermes blessed me to have you! Please never worry, I will always help you make it through those hurtful memories.” I could feel her start to calm so quickly, even Glory was making calm noises as she felt peace.
“Thank you, Nico, I am sure my dad is just as angry and wants Trin hurt. He appreciates what you have done for both mom and I.” I say giving Nico a kiss on the cheek. Nodding at me, he turns and walks into the theater with mom in his arms. Others have been moved into the many rooms as well. Nazareth and Levi’s pack have been doing repairs, so many of the rooms are open now.
“Tenelle, I can feel Trin. He has left because everyone is safeguarded against him. He is getting really weak. I can feel it through the dream realm. He is losing his ability to dream walk fast.” Snow tells me.
“We need to let Hecate and the others know.” I tell Snow and she sends me an emoji picture of a thumbs up. I really should never have shown her how to work a cell. “Nimara, Trin has left the area. Can the clan members come help with those in the Theater that are in a sleep spell?” I ask through mind link.
“We already are kiddo. Hecate told me what happened, they chased that little fucker out of the territory. He did some damage to Ram, and my girls were not happy! His wings are shredded and the one is completely broken. We brought her here for healing, so we decided to help with all the visitors too.” Nimara replies. I start to walk around helping with members that are coming out of their little nap. I send them into the Theater to get some food and coffee. All of a sudden, a hand rests on my shoulder, when I turn to see who it is, I get a sudden pain and again Mary-Anne is standing there with a knife covered in my blood.
Chapter 11
~ Tenelle ~
With all that is going on, no one noticed Mary-Anne come onto the territory. She must have come with some of the other guests for the meeting.
“Can’t become a god when your dead!” Mary-Anne says with a cruel smile.
“Can’t die when the wound isn’t fatal!” I snap, she’s sent backwards, and I don’t understand how until I see Nazareth.
“You really need to pay more attention little owl.” He says coming in front of me. He’s in his wolf and standing over 7 feet tall.
“How are you bigger than Levi?” I ask completely not paying attention to what is happening around me. He smiles and leans down to lick my stomach; I can already feel the damage inside my body knitting itself back together. I watch as Mary-Anne gets back up and starts to come at me again. She isn’t quick enough due to the injuries I inflicted to her weeks ago. They are not healing well. Actually, I think they are infected and from the blood she spit out has become septic.
“You fucking mutt! I am going to kill all of you!” Mary-Anne screams and starts to run towards Nazareth and me. Just as she is about to slash at Nazareth, her right hand contorts into a disgusting angle. She screams like she is being killed, dropping the knife, and causing everyone around the Theater to watch. Then her left leg below the knee does the same thing and twists into a sickening angle. Her other arm and leg do the same all at once and she is screaming in pain. There is a sudden snap and Mary-Anne goes silent. She is still screaming but there is no sound coming from her lips.
“Fuck that is better. Wow, that is some seriously gross torture! Who was that creative?” Hecate asks looking at the other gods. The look on their faces says they are not responsible.
“I did, thought it was fitting considering what she did to Tenelle, Hayden and I.” Mitchel says just as his eyes go back from being black. He must have let out some serious dark energy on Mary-Anne. Her eyes go wide when she looks at Mitchel, then she looks at me and realizes I am covered in mate marks. She looks paler and paler by the minute as Levi, Enox, Nazareth and Mitchel all come to me, each giving me a possessive kiss and groping me hard.
“Could you let her have her voice back? If she screams, then I’ll just rip her throat out. Deal?” Enox asks Hecate. The goddess has a serious evil smile going, she is enjoying this way too much. Before she lets Mary-Anne have her voice, Tank shows up with this jug marked “Cleaner” and the smile he has is just as evil as Hecate’s.
“She’s human Tank, that won’t work I don’t think.” I say and he just smiles at me. Hecate gives Mary-Anne her voice back and we are wondering if Enox is going to get to rip out her throat.
“How? You should be dead!” Mary-Anne says looking at Mitchel.
“Well come to find out I needed to die for Daxton and me to be reconnected. But that also creates an even bigger problem for you and Trin. One because you’re going to die in the next ten minutes. Two, Trin is finally back in his real dragon, the dream realm has kicked his ass out and taken his powers. So, he is just a large lizard now.” Mitchel says.
“I hear roasted goanna is great done on the barbie!” Enox says causing everyone standing nearby to laugh.
“I don’t see that as a problem, Trin doesn’t need to dream walk to get to the stars to retrieve the powers, he just needs her!” She says with a sick smile looking at me.
“Well, I didn’t tell you reason number three yet.” Mitchel says and he’s starting to go dark again.
“Well, what is it then? It obviously isn’t too important if you haven’t said it.” Mary-Anne barks.
“Three is he needs all 5 of us to get to the powers in the stars now. Tenelle is no longer able to dream walk without a guard and guide. So that would be Nazareth, Levi and Enox, and she is only able to do it during the night now, because I have taken my role as Solar Celestial Guard! By the way, I spoke to Apollo, how do you think Tenelle was able to dream walk and the Shadow walkers are out during daylight hours? The clouds look really dark don’t you think?” Mitchel says and I see him releasing more dark energy to help darken the clouds even more.
“No that is not possible! We have seen her do it during the day!” Mary-Anne shrieks, then she screams again as her limbs are contorted even more to the point of snapping off.
“Not now with her accepting her role as the Goddess of Night. Trin told you, she was one of the Seven Children of the Gods right? You guys really should have thought this one out. Well, your ten minutes are up so, I am sure Tank would love the honors of taking your ass down to Hades!” Mitchel says as Enox rips out her throat. Tank just pouts that he didn’t get to use Nimara’s cleaner. He has really taken to “melting” evil people.
“Tank are you to take her or is another hound coming? I would love to play if you’re not in service my love!” Hecate says causing Tank’s pout to instantly disappear and he tackles her. Hecate had enough time to get a portal in place to take them back to her den when Tank jumped
her.
“Wow those two are hornier then my three guys!” Nimara says laughing and shaking her head. Another Hellhound appears and takes Mary-Anne’s soul, and then torches her ass. We all move back, and I see Hades giving instructions to the hound to take the soul to the Hell fires to burn. He isn’t even taking her soul into his realm, that has to be bad when even Hades won’t give a damned soul punishment. We continue to move through the rest of the visitors and help them to their feet or get them inside before the rain hits.
“Tenelle, may I speak with you for a moment?” Nyx asks.
“Sure, what is it I can do for you goddess?” I say bowing and moving us to the evergreen forest.
“There is a lot going on here, and we don’t know all of it yet. I will speak to Apollo and see what he suggests about allowing the Shadow Walkers out during the day. It seems, the new goddess of Night gave them the gift of cloaking their bodies to travel safely during the day.” She says giving me a look. I smile sweetly causing her to sighs and smile.
“They will have the same restrictions as their goddess. They can only dream walk during the night. Otherwise I see nothing wrong with it, it may allow them to find their mates faster as well, which actually helps.” A golden tanned man with a surfers body says.
“Apollo, it’s so good to finally see you again dear nephew!” Nyx says embracing Apollo warmly.
“And you too Aunt Nyx, it has been way too long. I am glad that the Solar Celestial Guard was able to be reconnected, that was just causing way too many problems.” Apollo says when they pull away from each other. “So this is the true goddess taking your place! Love the hair, that is pretty sweet!” He says looking at me.
“Thank you my lord. It is an honor to meet you!” I say bowing.
“Oh child don’t be so formal; you are my cousin not my servant. Have you talked to the other Birds of Prey to find who will take your place when you ascend? I am sure your mother would like to stay retired and well your father is definitely enjoying his, you spoiled him when you took over. You know that right?” Apollo says giving me a quick hug and giving me a once over at arm’s length.
“No not yet, but I am sure my younger brother will want to take my position. He hasn’t found his mate and he would like to start traveling a little further out than just Canada to be able to search. I did warn him that it may still take some time because he won’t be in one place for too long.” I say. I hate the thought of my brother not being able to find his mate right away, but he still has another 2 years before he has to worry too much.
“I think with technology and social media, he may be able to spend a little more time in each place. The Birds of Prey are only being used now for sacred items and documents. It has made things easier and harder at the same time. I just hope it won’t make you guys extinct.” Nyx says with a look of worry.
“It won’t dear Aunt, I have already proposed a new purpose to the Council for the Birds of Prey. Zeus, Hades, and Poseidon are talking about it. It would be similar to what we did with the dragons.” Apollo says.
“Oh Apollo! That would be wonderful, the dragons were almost wiped out, making them dream protectors was an amazing way to save their species! I hope they say yes to your idea.” Nyx says. It’s known that dragons were killed off by humans. What isn’t know is that any of the dragon eggs that were hatching at the time, went to Nyx and she gave them the gift of dream protectors. They help keep the balance between desires, and joy in all dreams.
“Goddess, you still haven’t told me, what it is that you need of me? How can I be of assistance?” I ask the goddess; she smiles at me and gives me a kiss on the forehead.
“My request of you, is that you and Nimara help train the other children as you find them. It will be very important. The Council of the Gods think that you won’t be coming to take their place for another hundred years, but they are wrong. As soon as all seven of you are found and the balance put back in place you will all ascend at once.” Nyx says, this is a bit of a concern as Nimara just had pups. So they will be left here defenseless.
“Don’t worry about any of the little ones born between now and then. They will all be coming with you. Even us gods would not leave our children alone on earth.” Apollo says, but I am still concerned.
“I beg to differ Apollo; I can name many of the god’s children that were left here on earth. Zeus happens to be the biggest offender of this act. No offence to the ruler of the gods.” I say causing Nyx to laugh at Apollo’s shocked face that I would call him out on it.
“Oh the heavens are in for a wakeup call with the new blood coming up!” Nyx says realizing many of us are going to put our foot down and not let any of the originals away with shit. “Have you ever wondered why Zeus is afraid of me?” She asks with a mischievous smile.
“It has come across my thoughts, but I figured it wasn’t any of my business.” I tell her and she smiles even more.
“Every time he came down and impregnated a human woman, I would curse him with endless nightmares of his children causing the downfall of the gods. Ultimately destroying his world. It terrified him, and Heracles the Second was the last of him doing this. Although it was after Perseus’ battles with Medusa and Kronos, the gods were slowly losing popularity with man. It was our children who basically became our saving grace.” Nyx says.
“How so?” I ask, I have never thought about it really.
“Selene’s werewolves and lycans keep her going, even though she was human to begin with. The Silver Shadow protectors keep Gaia going, the Shadow clans keep me, well you now going. It started with the original seven children here on earth that we raised while being earthbound. Now it is time for a new start and that’s where the children of the gods comes in. It’s a renewal of faith, our children are starting to question our actions more, and new ways of doing things is needed. So the new seven children will do this, breathing new life and faith. You and Nimara are great examples of this, you both treat your followers as your equals. Nimara bonded the entire Silver Shadow clan, they have all become the sacred protectors they are meant to be.” Nyx says.
“And you Tenelle, have given 2 entire races of supernatural’s a new means of building their population safely. The Birds of Prey will see a huge jump and the Shadow clans will find their mates sooner to continue to grow. This may even be a way to start another new bloodline, like that of Nimara and Kai’s Black Shadow Moon or Silver Moon Shadow. I have no idea what it’s being called.” Apollo says frustrated, which just causes Nyx and I to laugh at him.
“I will gladly help with this task goddess Nyx. Thank you for trusting me with something this important.” I say, I bow to the two gods again and soon we are back in the theater. Apollo and Nyx continue to talk while I start to see who needs help.
“Hey there you are! Is everything alright?” Enox says, as both him and Mitchel come up to me.
“Yes I am fine, did everyone check out ok? Trin’s gone right?” I ask looking to make sure it was alright to bring Hayden out again.
“Yes he is gone, Hayden came out already when he heard his dragon friend. The two of them are talking. The little guy is super happy to have his protector back.” Mitchel says as Zed walks up to us.
“Goddess, we have followed that little lizard to another den. This one is not as secure as his first one, but he still has help. He has a prisoner that told us there is another dream walker, her description of this other dream walker seems familiar. Maybe something to check into.” Zed says and looks at Mitchel. “You got in good with Tenelle quickly! She booted my ass after a month.” He says causing Mitchel to look at me.
“I was going through puberty and this fucker kept tormenting me with sexual dreams. I had to get rid of him somehow!” I say giving Zed a look of I will get you. He laughs at me and holds his hands up in surrender. Mitchel shakes his head like he knows how hard it is to get rid of them, and Enox growls wrapping his arms around me.
“Zed leave Tenelle alone she doesn’t need any help in the sex depa
rtment. She has 4 hot ass mates to deal with! I am sure Levi and Nazareth can keep her busy!” Jade says to her brother when she flies over. These two are like night and day, Zed is a 6 foot tall gremlin and Jade is a 4 inch tall fairy.
“What have you found out Jade, since your brother squealed on you not listening and stayed out of his den.” I say giving her a pointed look, that causes her to blush.
“Well Zed was right; he still has help and the dream walk helping is Cleo. She’s actually a Shadow walker, but instead of looking like Zed and the others, she is blue. I think she’s also part of the Celestial guards. Which means if she can get into your dreams, then we are in trouble.” Jade says looking at her brother like he should know this person.
“I am going to kill that little bitch! Geo mentioned it before too, now this confirms it. I knew something wasn’t right when she came out of his dreams the last time.” Zed growls, looking like he is going to hit the roof, when his second in command, Geo comes up.
“Goddess, Zed, Enox, Mitchel and Jade, the dream realm is calling for all of you to come speak to them. Tenelle’s mates are all to come, they feel it would be better to have you all there to protect Tenelle. They have found more on what Trin is up too, and it’s not good.” Geo says.
Chapter 12
~ Tenelle ~
The trip to the dream realm was longer than expected, we had to travel to the heavens first and then to the land of dreams. This way was safer for all of us, it meant that our bodies would not be left vulnerable while our spirits traveled, but it also means that we have been gone from the mortal plain for about 4 days. It was interesting to see my mates not in their human bodies though. Enox is still his gorgeous midnight blue dragon, but his eyes have gone to a deep electric blue color and it actually looks like lightening is traveling across the iris. Even Mitchel was different, which I thought was interesting. He had wings like a bird, but they were the same color as the night, deep blue. I had noticed earlier that Nazareth was about 5 inches taller than Levi in their wolf forms, but I didn’t realize they were also a different shade of blue as well.
