Song of Dragons Page 12

by D. R. Rosier

In the few seconds that it took to get in range, Lisa had already paired it down to three. She was mostly naked, but her skin looked healthy. She’d obviously drank one of the shifters and healed, that was a relief. But when the fight was done there’s be two naked women, or a naked woman and a dragon.

  Shit.

Wait, we had spares in the car, which was fine. Still, I was upset about the house, but there wasn’t anything we couldn’t replace. It was being outed as a dragon on the internet that really concerned me.

I used my breath weapon again, and destroyed two of them, as Lisa ripped apart the last one. Kara James’ entire criminal organization and pride was now dead. The local vampire council was dead, Gene was on the run, and I’d more than likely been exposed.

  Busy day.

Lisa looked at me and then closed her eyes, and cursed.

I shrugged, which probably looked silly on a dragon.

“Car, change of clothes? Gene is the only one I left alive, I imagine he’s going to change out his underwear about now.”

Lisa giggled, “Fine, let’s go to Harold’s, and figure out what the fallout will be. I also want to track down Gene before he leaves town.”

“Maybe we should do that first?”

We moved toward the car, and I used ice molecules to pick up the necklace, I’d have to get the chain fixed. I’d had it less than a day, and already its purpose had been betrayed. I did the same to pick up my sword, and then I used my magic to find our weapons and grabbed those as well.

I raised a wall of ice around me and the car. Mostly my ice was crystal clear, but this time I made sure to capture enough air pockets to make it cloudy and give us privacy from the phones. Then I shifted. Lisa tossed me a spare armor, and I pulled it on. The only clothes I had in there was a pair of jeans, and a t-shirt, I pulled them on along with a pair of sneakers, and then got in the car.

One of the links on the chain was snapped, but the ruby and enchantment seemed fine. I considered saying my father’s name, but then decided to put that conversation off. Both of our phones were toast anyway, from the explosion. Luckily enough, my ID, and credit cards were in the car. There was also spare weapons and ammo in the back.

The first thing we needed to do was get clothes and new phones, we needed Brent to be in on all this to talk to the authorities. Right then, we couldn’t call him or anyone else, and my magic wouldn’t work either because he was warded against it. Well, first thing after we dealt with Gene.

I covered my face and hair with a towel, and then melted the wall of ice. Perhaps it was too late to hide who I was, but just in case it seemed stupid not to at least try. Still, I was with Lisa, and in this car, and outside my exploded house. Hoping for that much stupidity was a futile hope, but that didn’t stop me from doing it.

Lisa drove us off. It wasn’t until a few minutes later when I removed the towel.

I created little ice mirror, and then I brought up Gene with scrying. He was in a car, and I could tell where he was, and guess where he was heading.

“I think he’s headed for the vampire council building.”

Lisa snorted, “Probably to grab his luggage before he hightails it to DFW. I really wish I could’ve seen his face when you turned dragon. Your roar is scarier now too.”

She hit the gas, and we raced after him.

“What are you going to do?”

  She smirked, “You’ll see.”

There was an evil glint in her eyes, and her voice was hard and scary. My sweet violent sexpot.

Was it wrong, that it made me a little wet, and that a pleasant tingle went down my spine and straight to my sex, as my nipples tightened?

  Lisa’s smirk grew larger, “Slut.”

I giggled, she must have scented my arousal.

  Chapter Twenty

It was still light out, the sun was low on the horizon, and around seven at night when we got to the vampire council building. Still, it was late enough that I picked up a lot of human songs, volunteer food for the vampires at their club, looking for a good time.

I said, “He’s still down there. He’s on the phone, and packing.”

Lisa nodded, “I can hear him arranging a plane ticket.”

We got out of the car, and then moved into the building. I followed Lisa to the right, and to the stairs. The two vampire guards blanched, and immediately got out of our way. We moved down the stairs quickly, and I heard his song.

  “Two levels down.”

She nodded absently, and went down a second flight of stairs, the council chambers were on the top sublevel. I guessed the living quarters and the coven itself lived below that. We exited the door.

  “Left, right.”

She turned to the left and raced down the hall, and we turned right and started down that hallway. His song was close.

  “Two doors, right side.”

She lunged forward, and then stopped at the door. All the vampires were avoiding us, or at least moving out of our way. I wasn’t sure if that was because of Lisa’s age, or they knew what I was. I was hoping for the former, but the latter would make sense too. Other supernatural beings stepped softly around dragons. Word couldn’t have travelled that fast, could it?

Lisa kicked in the door, and rushed Gene. Her hand wrapped around his neck and pushed him against the wall. She stared into his eyes, and his terror filled eyes glassed over, as he fell under her compulsion.

The room looked a lot like a luxury hotel suite.

Lisa smiled, a smile without warmth.

She said, “You had your chance for peace, you wanted war, I’ll give you a war. Here is what you are going to do…”

When she finished giving instructions, we left him and exited the building. We made two quick stops, the first was to pick up replacement cell phones. We took the time to fill in Brent on the attack at our house, and he promised to interface with the police and fire department. The second stop was at Walmart, where we bought a number of casual outfits and shoes. It wasn’t the best, but it would do for now until we had time to fully replace the dressier parts our wardrobe.

Then we called Harold’s and he invited us to stay. We’d lay low and take stock, and wait for the damage to come in. Brent and my father were keeping an eye on the stories, and the internet. We might be well on our way in dealing with the Lisa vampire issue, but there was also the small matter of me being the focus of a future dragon hunt. Something I was keen to avoid, but I wasn’t at all sure I could escape at this point. Harold’s house should be a good place to lay low, I didn’t think anyone but Brent and my father knew of that connection. The last thing I wanted to do was drag him into this mess, but we didn’t know any other place to go, and we’d be hidden behind his wards and my father’s necklace.

There was already video of me as a dragon and fighting, fucking nosy neighbors, but so far, no connections had been made to me being that dragon. I feared it was just a matter of time though.

Harold looked concerned as he opened the door, and I suddenly felt self-conscious, most of my hair was burned away.

  “Come in.”

He surprised me, when he pulled us both into a tight embrace after closing the door. Both of us dropped our duffel bags full of new clothes, and we cuddled into him.

  “Are you okay?”

  I said, “We’re fine, just… screwed.”

  He snorted, “What happened exactly?”

He guided us into the living room, and we sat on the couch.

It didn’t take long to explain the day’s events as they happened. He looked both horrified and pleased when Lisa explained exactly what she had planned for the main vampire council in Europe.

He said, “That’s bad, you two may have to go on the run, even if the vampire part works out as you expect, the dragons will figure things out even if the humans don’t. I can help with a couple of things right now.”

Harold cast a few spells for us at that point. One of them on each of us, to restore our hair, and another to fix
the necklace, which I put on. Having a mage boyfriend, or rather, a mage friend with benefits, wasn’t a bad thing.

Lisa sighed, “It isn’t good, and I think it’s obvious that our days at Walker security are over.”

I frowned, but I couldn’t find it in myself to disagree.

  “What are your plans then?”

I had no idea, but I knew my life was about to fundamentally change. I needed to embrace that, somehow. If I did have a normal dragon’s lifespan, and was able to avoid them somehow, my life would be changing many times over my lifespan, just like Lisa’s had.

I said, “We aren’t sure yet where we’ll end up, but we can stay in touch and visit if you want us to. I’m not sure what to do, kicking ass and writing boring reports is all I know.”

  He laughed.

“Whatever you do, you should consider surrounding yourself in your element. I know you won’t become like the sirens that enslave men, but the ocean would feed both sides of you, perhaps even make you powerful enough to have a chance.”

Maybe, against one dragon, my elemental magic over water and my siren powers together might be enough to at least hold it off long enough to escape, but I had a feeling they’d be hunting in groups.

  “What do you think?”

Lisa shrugged, “Living on a tropical island sounds like a good plan to me. I could handle a decade or two of peace,” she looked at Harold, “Could you change her appearance with magic? If they make a connection, or I mean when I suppose. With her father’s necklace, and not looking like herself in human form, she could probably walk and do a dance in front of a dragon and not be recognized.”

I liked the way I looked, and I loved my ash blonde hair, but I could see why I couldn’t keep it.

He asked, “What about her scent?”

I said, “The necklace changes that as well, makes me smell like a pure-blood siren. As far as I know, the only ones with that scent right now are Lisa and Gene, and his days are numbered. I wasn’t wearing the necklace when we went into the vampire’s abode.”

He frowned, “Magical reconstructive surgery, changing your face and hair color, isn’t exactly something I’ve ever researched. I’ll look into it. Are you hungry?”

I really was, but not for food. I was horny as hell, between Lisa being scary, and the fight and near death experience, I was more than ready for sex.

  Lisa giggled, the bitch.

I leaned toward him and kissed him teasingly, and then nipped his bottom lip. I licked my lips as I moved back, and said sultrily, “I could do with a snack,” as I reached down and groped his package.

Lisa spanked my ass hard, and said, “On your knees slut, and thank our host.”

Goddess, a shiver of pleasure went through me at her words. What the fuck was wrong with me? If anyone else had said and demanded that, I’d be angry, but with Lisa? I couldn’t remember ever being more turned on, and I was willing to do anything she asked me at that point. I slid off the couch, and knelt between his legs. I didn’t take my eyes off his, as I worked his pants open, and fished out his quickly hardening cock.

My pussy clenched, when Lisa leaned in and started to kiss him, as I bowed my head, and teasingly licked the bulbous head of his cock. His whole body twitched, and I heard his moan of pleasure as they deepened their kiss above me.

I slowly took his tip into my mouth, and swirled the head with my tongue, and moaned in approval at his taste. I felt so hot, so naughty, and a dirty thrill went through me at the taste of him on my tongue. I cupped his balls in my hand, and took him into my mouth. I loved the sensation of him growing there, filling my mouth, pushing against my throat, and sliding along my tongue.

I moved back on my knees, and pulled my t-shirt off and opened my armor, letting my firm C-cups spill out. I gasped as I pinched my own nipples, and leaned forward and surrounded his cock in my soft flesh, and bowed my neck to take his tip in my mouth again, once again swirling my tongue around it, but this time I also used my magic to create a whirlpool of spit around his sensitive head, while I jerked his base off with my tits.

I felt both submissive and powerful, as I both willing gave and yet had total control over his pleasure.

Harold’s voice was muted by his kiss with Lisa as he said, “Fuck Mel, that’s amazing, don’t stop.”

I felt Lisa grip my hair, and push my head down forcefully. I went down eagerly, and took him into my throat, and hummed to increase his pleasure with the vibrations of my throat. If she wanted him deep in my throat, I was more than happy to oblige.

He must have really liked that, because his body arched and speared up into me. My nose buried itself into his flesh, as I sucked, licked the bottom of his cock, and created a whirlpool of warm spit around his cock.

“Fuck!” he grunted, and I felt his hand join Lisa’s as he pushed up harder, as his body stiffened, and he started to empty himself down my throat.

I shivered, and felt like a lightning bolt hit me, as I had a mini-orgasm of my own. I could hardly believe me pinching my own nipples, and his load going down my throat had set me off, but it did. I quivered in pleasure, as I continued to eagerly swallow each pulsing shot of his offering.

His body started to relax, and I backed off knowing he’d be too sensitive now, and then licked him clean like a very satisfied cat.

Lisa said, “Damn Mel, you are so fucking hot.”

I smiled shyly, as absurd as that sounds, “Love you too, Lisa.”

She winked, and the three of us got up and headed for the bedroom. I imagined round two wasn’t that far off, especially if he got to watch Lisa and I go at it in a sixty-nine until he recovered. I felt really good, relaxed, and knew the next few hours would be mind-blowing. I loved my vampire, and cared a lot about Harold, I couldn’t think of anything else I’d rather be doing.

  Chapter Twenty-One

The next couple of days wasn’t all debauchery and threesomes, but I’ll admit we were unclothed quite often those two days as the damage of the fight and my exposure was measured. Lisa and I also had been sparring, my dragon was too big to comfortably fit in the underground room now. I wasn’t that much bigger, but I was about a foot taller and two feet longer, which made it so I had to scrunch down to fit. I could hardly practice my dragon form like that.

Harold had also come up with a solution of sorts for my appearance. He couldn’t change my appearance permanently, and truth be told I didn’t really want him to. But, he was able to give me an enchantment in an amethyst, which we added to the same necklace my father gave me. Basically, it was an illusion, or glamour. It wouldn’t affect my siren magic or pheromones, but people would see a very different person.

My body was the same with it on, a perfect hourglass, though my skin was slightly fairer. My hair was a golden blonde, tinged with red. Not quite strawberry blonde, and not quite golden blonde, it looked good in my opinion. It was also wavy, instead of the straight ash blonde hair I had naturally. My ocean blue eyes were a blue-green with it on, and my face was subtly changed. Not that much, but it didn’t need to be that much to be effective.

It was after dinner, and we were relaxing on the couch waiting to hear back from Brent. He already promised me he’d work out a new identity if it became necessary, and he’d set up new bank accounts so I’d get the money I had put away. I had quite a bit of it, I’d always been a frugal spender, and the high-risk job paid well. It wouldn’t last forever, but I’d have a year or two to find a new source of income. Brent would do the same for Lisa as well.

I tried to stay upbeat with the loss of my old life, and all the sex was helping with that, not to mention keeping me full of energy. It was more than that of course, I’d miss being a bounty hunter, executioner, and bodyguard, but Lisa was truly my life. I’d found love, and as long as I had her we could figure out the rest. I’d find a way to be useful, and make money, those things were important for a balanced healthy life, but they didn’t define me or my worth, not like Lisa did.

  Maybe it was unh
ealthy to think that way, but Lisa saw me for me, and not my magic or pheromones. More than that, she chose to love me, chose me to be hers, as I chose her. To me, that was priceless.

  Lisa said, “It’s time.”

I smiled, “Right, I don’t want to miss it.”

Gene had his instructions, and they were for tonight.

I chose a blank part of the wall, and then created a sheet of ice against it. I wasn’t worried about damaging anything, my magic would keep it from melting or getting anything wet. Then I thought about Gene, and an image of him and the council came up on the wall. The room was lavishly decorated, wood floors, expensive paintings, furnishings, and statuary. There was a long-curved desk where the council sat.

All four of the other vampires on the council were male, and very attractive. Seems the vampires were patriarchal still. There were others in the room as well, a few guards, and some I wasn’t sure about.

Gene was wearing a leather trench coat, and looked almost resigned, there were four other old vampires on the council. We listened for a while as they talked about stuff we didn’t care about.

I’d been scrying Gene on and off the last two days as well, which meant I could scry the places where I’d seen him at. That meant I could get Lisa and I out of here quickly, to more than just Austin and Corpus Christie now. I could get us to O’Hare in Chicago, or an airport in England, as well as several other places there. The time would come, when I could travel all over the world, but it would take time to accumulate places I could scry, years most likely, as I didn’t imagine myself travelling around the world just so I could. Still, it was good enough for now.

I started paying attention when one of the others said, “Gene, you wished to address the council about Lisa and our efforts there?”

Gene cleared his throat, “I suggest we simply let it go. The purpose for chasing her down has caused us no end to trouble. We lost any ground gained and then some in the United States trying to kill her, and there is truthfully no point. She is older than us, powerful, and has no desire to rule. I urge the council that we should accept her as an ancient vampire independent of this council’s authority, and let it go.”
