  Acknowledgments

If you read the dedication, you’ll see that my former student inspired Trent’s story. I knew when I was writing Whiteout that there was more to this complex man. His reaction to seeing Reef and Ford together for the first time was a window into something so much more profound. BB, thank you for sharing your story. I can never express how much I admire your strength and resilience. Keep sparkling.

To all the men who have shared their stories and all the resources that organizations like RAINN, the NSW Health Education Centre Against Violence and 1in6 provide to male survivors of sexual assault, thank you. Your support in putting this story together made it possible.

Another thank-you also needs to go to my critique partner who looks at all my work and always sets me on the right path. Kariss, thank you, beautiful. I always appreciate your eyes. Thank you also to Liv and all the ladies at Hot Tree for your eyes and feedback on the various drafts of this story and to Tracey Weston from Soxational Cover Art for making Trent and Angelo come to life in a cover that is sheer perfection.

For my A-Team, who were there to commiserate and encourage me when Trent was so damn stubborn that I was begging him to listen to me, and yet he insisted on doing things his own way. Thank you always for your friendship and encouragement. You’re always there and I appreciate you to no end for it.

I’m so grateful to Hubby and my boys. I desperately needed those hugs when I was crying over Trent and Angelo, and you were always there to give them to me. You never questioned it. You were just there for me, and I love you to the moon and back for it. I swear, the next book I write won’t be so heartbreaking. Probably. Maybe?

Finally, an especially huge thank you goes to all the readers who pick up my books and bloggers who show so much love for the book community. I can never thank you enough for your support over my years of writing. The time you take to buy, read, review, reach out and share your thoughts about my books is so very appreciated. Thank you for pushing me to be a better writer with every word I type.
