Episode 13
Summer's P.O.V
The sudden ringing of my phone pulled me out of the oblivion, in which I kept on drowning deep, bit by a bit, without even realizing that I was already at the verge of breaking a few promises that I had made to myself long before.
Suddenly, I had realized how strong the mate pull was that I couldn't even resist to give in, even when I had planned not to. Never ever. But as if my own heart and soul had betrayed me at the instant when mate had finally found me out in one dark night, in the darkest alley and came running to me only to take me into his tight and warm hug.
And things kept on happening between us, one after another, which none of us could stop.
All of these happened so fast that I couldn't get enough time to recollect myself from a huge mess of my mind. But I did it anyway. At least when the phone started to ring loudly, declaring the fact that it was time to break out from the spell which was compelling us to drown ourselves into the dark, willingly, helplessly, with each passing second.
Without turning on the screen to look who was calling, I put it to silent in my pocket and pulled myself back from his embrace.
“I need to go. Meet me tomorrow, at midnight? Right here.” With that, I walked away as quickly as I could without turning back even for once, to take a quick glance at my mysterious mate and I escaped him from the other end of the darkest alley as he kept standing at the exact spot as before.
I couldn't see his face rather I did not want to, only his huge stature that I saw, was standing behind as I ran away.
Yes, he couldn't follow me, because I made sure of that. Though I was feeling bad for him, I was helpless.
With each of my steps forward in an attempt to get myself away from my mate, I felt the most intoxicating smell was also reducing its impact on me as well, with the increasing distance between us. And soon, the smell was like vanished into the thin air leaving my heart to freeze once again.
Again I had turned into the old Summer that I knew but I wondered what had happened to me back there where I kept on breaking only to be born once again as a completely different person. As a fragile one.
My phone went off once again and I picked up the call quickly this time.
“Hey, Sam. Are you there at the club?” I heard Jenny from the other end.
“Yes, almost. Why?” I replied quickly, after assuming from her voice that she was quite panicked due to something which I didn't know yet.
“I am sorry Sam. You don't need to go there anymore. If possible, come to my home. I am already here.” She informed with a lot of regrets which I wondered why.
“Okay, I am coming. But what happened suddenly? I was supposed to pick you up from the club. How come you have already left?” I enquired while walking on my way to where I had parked my bike earlier. Something definitely seemed fishy to me, as I could not find a possible reason for a sudden change in our daily routine. And also the fact that why didn't she informed me beforehand?
“A lot of things happened. And you need to come here to know, as I can not tell you all these over the phone. Okay? But don't worry, nothing bad happened. So don't you rush to drive and get here safely.” Though Jenny didn't say much on the phone, it was still not enough to ease my sudden anxiety.
“And yes, could you please bring some of the men's clothes over here?” She added further which definitely freaked me out this time.
“What? Jenny, tell me. What happened? Are you sure everything is fine?” I asked Jenny holding my breath in, hoping not to get any bad news.
“Yes, I am sure. Don't worry. I am waiting for you at home. See you here soon and I also made dinner for us. Okay?” Came Jenny's reply, which helped me to calm myself for a bit at least. Even though I was still curious about what happened?
Why Jenny needs men's clothes all of a sudden?
Is she in some kind of trouble?
No, she is not I guess. Because if she was, she would have told me for sure. Then something else might have happened which I just can not figure out yet.
Anyway,
Thinking without any clue won't help but would only increase a tremendous headache for me. So, it was indeed pointless.
“Okay. I am coming.” With that, I hung up the phone as I had reached my bike as well.
Without wasting time I got on the bike only to go to my place first to pick up some clothes from Kaith's room and then again turned my wheels towards Jenny's place as soon as possible.
On my way, I kept thinking about a lot of things that happened to me recently. The night breeze was playing with hair ever so softly as I let myself free to fly high with some unfamiliar feelings which had never occurred to me before tonight.
I was surprised.
Yes,
It just took one single night to turn my whole world to run on a different path which I had never planned to travel before.
I was becoming vulnerable yet determined to take the risk at least for once, for the sake of love. For the sake of my mate. And I knew very well that no matter how hard I try, I could never reject my mate. And I even wondered if my one decision would make me even more unfortunate or not?
Even when it turns out to be a curse on my life instead of a blessing, who cares?
I mean, who has ever cared for me before? Except a very few.
Anyway,
At last, I had reached Jenny's home and parked my bike outside just before I went in to find out what happened with her as well, at the very same night.
But, just when I entered, I was stupefied. Not a single word came out of my mouth and I just kept looking at the two who were sitting on the sofa, bearing some expression on their faces as if I had just caught them red-handed.
Yes,
I saw the two culprits on whom I had my suspicions for long.
One was Jenny and the other was Kaith of course.
“You!!!!...” As soon as I started to get near to beat the hell out of him, Kaith jumped out of the sofa in certain fear, while attempting to hold the little piece of towel tightly around his waist to save himself from the embarrassment.
“Look!.. I can explain it. It is not exactly what you are thinking.” He started to run away from me only to justify himself, while keeping a careful distance from me the whole time, so that I could not get to him before he could even prove his innocence.
“What is there to explain to you dumbass. What are you trying to do being all naked at Jenny's house at this hour? You shit head. Don't even try to tell me that it is all your stupid hormones that could not hold you back anymore from pouncing on your prey?” I yelled with all my might for his stupidity. I can't believe he would do such kind of thing with Jenny when he was determined to wait until he finds his mate all along.
I could not find any reason for his stupid decision.
“I am telling you, you are thinking wrong. Please calm down and let me explain at least. And I can not do that without wearing any clothes. Please, Sam.” Kaith pleaded and he should, obviously, but not to me.
“Don't you ever think that I would let you go that easily after what you did, so what you are my best friend. And most of all I am no one to forgive you, ask Jenny for your forgiveness.” Again I tried to catch that dumbass but he made sure to keep some safe distance from me all the time.
“I am not asking forgiveness to anyone. Cause I did nothing wrong. And give me my clothes. Now.” He even dared to yell back at me?
“You did nothing wrong? Nothing wrong at all? So, what I saw with my own eyes was all a lie? Are you trying to tell me this? You come here, dumbass.” I screamed back once again without bothering to hold myself back.
“Yes. Exactly, and now give me my clothes. And don't you think that I am a fool to go near you right now as you have asked. Throw the bag over here, Sam.” He said with a frown which made me even angrier seeing his audacity.
I had totally forgotten during this whole time that someone else was here too, and was watching us with her shocking wide eyes. Yes, I d
id forget about Jenny until she came in between to stop us from fighting. And it took only a few words from her to make me all stunned at my place with another sudden revelation.
“Umm... Kaith is my mate, Sam.” She uttered loudly, attempting to gain both of our attention to her, causing us to stop our terrible argument only to be left dumbfounded.
“What?” I was way beyond shocked. Though I should have guessed, I indeed failed to do so, due to my recently messed up mind.
“Yes. That was what I was trying to tell you the whole time, only if you were calm enough to listen. Now give me my clothes. Would you? Or you want me to stay naked in front all of you?” As soon as he retorted back, I threw the bag towards him only to crash it right into his face.
“Oops!!!..” I pretended to be unintended for what I had just done.
“Seriously?” After throwing a lot of daggers at me with his sharp eyes, Kaith picked up the bag and rushed into a room, to do whatever he needed to do.
And I was left to confront another culprit of tonight. Yes, Jenny.
I can't believe it was the same girl who had just screamed at me to save his mate and look at her now. She was standing ever so quietly while looking at nowhere but to the floor as if something precious was lost there.
I sighed.
“So, would you care to give me some details?” I asked but with a polite tone because I was not angry anymore and also because I had realized that it was really me who misunderstood the whole situation.
But only because I was not aware of the truth.
Anyway, I approached Jenny to give her a tight hug to show that I was happy for them.
