A Duel in Meryton Page 25

by Renata McMann

The conversation moved from the accomplishments of their and Richard and Charlotte’s grandchildren to Georgiana’s, then Walter and Caroline’s. Nor did Elizabeth’s sisters’ grandchildren escape scrutiny. All the Bennet sisters had been blessed with the fortitude of their mother, but only Jane had surpassed Mrs. Bennet. She and Bingley had raised five daughters and two sons, and now knew the joy of over twenty grandchildren. With so many relations, Darcy knew the conversation would go well into that evening, and likely the following as well, and he didn’t mind. Elizabeth and Charlotte had much to speak on, the result of happy, full lives.
