Resolution Page 104

She had never envisioned that senior Immortals Niona and Fionna might drop in and mate with Adam. That was said to be impossible, and why had God sent Niona anyway? What was that old buzzard up to? She would not concern herself with matters over which she had no control. She would stick to the Agreement and the Covenants for now.

  That would change.

  ***

“Everyone knows what to do, correct?”

“Yes Lord,” they all said. “As you command.”

“I need the solemn promises of everyone here that no matter what happens, you shall all do your duty.” He looked at Hecate. “Am I being clear, Hecate St. James, my daughter?”

“Yes, father. But don’t ask me to like this plan. I do not. If I fail, it will not be wilful disobedience; it will be lack of courage.”

“That is not the truth. Do your duty.”

  “Yes, father.”

Adam looked at his wives. “We all knew this day was coming, and we knew that Liara was a deceiver and a liar. Once the UN speech is over, and the accords are signed, she will order Hecate and I to the Manor. None of you will do anything to stop this. If we try, she will destroy us all.”

  ***

Hana, Niona and Fionna met secretly. “We cannot let Hecate or Adam out of our sight from the UN speech and afterwards.”

“We must get his promise to return home immediately after he is done. Hana, that is your job. He will not dissemble with you.”

“Let’s hope you’re right. Our Master is headstrong and lies. He lies! To us his wives and loved ones.”

  “Not for long.”

  Chapter 46

The day arrived and at exactly 1:59 PM on a bright Thursday afternoon in New York City, eight individuals arrived back of the main stage of the UN General Assembly. The chairs for the member nations were filled to capacity, the wings of the stage contained chairs for dignitaries from all over the world. Former President Obama of the United States, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau of Canada and former Prime Minister Tony Blair of the United Kingdom led a small delegation of academics representing the best and the brightest minds that the world could then produce.

Religions likewise were represented on one side, the Pope, leaders of the Muslim, Jewish, Hindu and Buddhist faiths all attended. Protestant representatives were in attendance as were many scientists in biology and cosmology.

Those who would object as well as those who would support made time to hear and see the supposed immensity of the announcement that was to be made to the world today. Media was everywhere, and the event was held live to every nation with the technology to show it; all other peoples, including indigenous peoples saw the event in their minds.

The world watched whether it wanted to or not; those who were drunk or high were changed from altered to normal state for the hour of time this would take.

Representatives of the countries with the largest militaries and global corporate interests in were also seated in the front rows of the assembly. They were brought to the event against their will to witness great power and reasonable forbearance on the part of Adam St. James.

The military men had conspired to kill Adam, his wife Hana, his father Edward, Tar of the Gens Germania and Derek Nobilus of the Nobilus Magnus. They arrived by teleportation arranged by Fionna the Immortal and Niona the Huntress, along with Hecate the Immortal. They needed no jets nor cars nor any protection. Only Edward, Hana, Tar and Derek were vulnerable to mortal attack; it was however, the three assassins and their military masters who would die that day.

In the aftermath of the attempted assassination the world would change.

The Secretary General of the United Nations, a Korean born diplomat, introduced Adam Stephen St. James to the world. Somehow all languages were understood without need for translators and microphones. The speeches went directly into the minds of all in attendance and all listening by whatever means around the world.

  Adam approached the podium.

“My name is Adam Stephen St. James and I bring news to the world today that will alter the course of events on this planet as we know it, end war, poverty and hunger. There are those of you in attendance today for whom this news will not be welcome, but for the other ninety-nine percent of the planet that suffers from the side effects of profits gained from war, greed and poverty, this will be a day of celebration.

“I spoke yesterday with the Secretary General and asked him to clear the building of guns and arms, that there would be no need for them or the police as I have brought my own protection and security with me. Further, as a result of my genetic makeup there are no weapons on this planet that can kill me.

“I am disappointed in the Secretary General, who is on stage with me now. He spoke to the military and large corporations most interested in me and my family, as well as the technology we have invented; these are the same people who have tried to kill and kidnap us in the past.”

Three scoped rifles and several handguns appeared on stage as did three men who had only moments ago been hiding up above the audience where the lighting for the auditorium and stage were controlled. Those whose job it actually was to be on those jobs were dead, murdered and throats slit and bound by cord to the scaffolding to which the lighting was attached.

“These men, one American, one British and one Israeli were hired by the men sitting in the front row of this Great Hall of Peace to assassinate me, my family and my guests. Mr. Secretary, please step to the microphone and admit what you have done. It will go badly for you and your colleagues if you do not admit the truth.”

“I spoke with Mr. St. James yesterday, promised him a safe place to speak, then broke my word and met with these men in the front row to plan their murders by assassination. I believed that the economy of my country and the world would be destroyed and that peace, as we know it, can only be achieved through strength. Military strength which Mr. St. James threatens to eliminate. I did not believe him. Not until today.”

“Thank you, Mr. Secretary. Now to the real reason we are here.”

The men in the front rows tried to stand up but were suddenly strapped into their seats. Men and women placed strategically around the auditorium and grounds, armed FBI, police and other agencies suddenly could not move, their firearms dissipated into dust and their communications devices inoperative.

“I am here today to fulfil a revelation made over six hundred years ago that the three great species of this planet, destined to unite the world in peace, brotherhood and sisterhood, would be fulfilled. I am here today to reveal the existence of the two other species that, like humanity, are a part of this revelation. Two among us, myself and my wife Hana who will soon speak to you, are among the few who have the genetic makeup, the DNA, to finish the task started so long ago. We are to prove to the world that our Lord, whom you may call God, Jehovah, the Creator or by any other name of Supreme Being, has now made possible the means and manner to communicate and demonstrate the truth of who and what we are.

“There are three great species that coexist on this planet, humans, homo sapiens, the Gens and the Nobilus Magnus. We are all represented on this stage today, and I will show all of you what we look like in our natural state. We have the ability to transforms by various means, now instantaneously, from our natural states to human form and back again. I myself am capable of transforming from human to both of the two other natural states. I am the leader of all Gens worldwide; we comprise about three hundred million individuals. Many in America and throughout the industrialized world are your friends and neighbors.

“The smallest number of the purebred species are the Nobilus Magnus, who comprise only around one and one half million worldwide, but who number close to ten million of mixed species having Nobilus DNA of less than three percent to well over 90%. The Nobilus have long preferred to take human form, while over two thirds of the Gens stay largely in their natural state. Over one hundred million have never transformed. In their natural state, they are practically invisible to the human e
ye. However, a Gens, transformed or not, can easily detect the difference between Nobilus, Gens and human.”

  “Liar! Prove this fantasy!”

Adam transformed and jumped down on top of the seat from which the man spoke. He flexed his claws, touching the man’s throat.

  “What say you now, hu-man?”

Adam flashed a sign and all who could transform on the dais did transform, then immediately back. The Immortals appeared briefly, showing off their many forms, then disappeared.

“The combination of the three species intended so long ago was interrupted and the task of reuniting the species to their intended destiny was given to me to carry out now. The first step in the process is revelation, then the hard work begins. We must unite in this effort for the good of all sentient creatures and fulfill what our Lord requires of us. If we do not fulfill this task, the entire planet shall be destroyed and a new evolution begun. It is up to you.”

“Fakery and lies,” shouted many. “Trickery and deceit!”

“I shall share more of the history of our three species, then begin to discuss what we must do to accomplish this task. I shall put these visions in your minds and you may decide what is real and what is not. No film, no cameras and no chemically induced visions not worthy of trust. But I shall begin with the world military, which I shall disband day by day until there is none left. I begin with all nuclear bombs, all bomb makers and all suppliers of military supplies. All those displaced from work shall be given new knowledge and new skills. You shall have work and new abilities. I hope you shall consider working with and for us. No one is forced to this; it is your choice.”

There was silence followed by general unrest and unease in the Hall.

“Now my wife Hana has a few words.”

“Freak! Freak! I saw her before as she appeared as a creature not of this earth; she was visible then invisible.”

Adam said, “You should be careful what you say to and about my wife. She will not harm you, but I will.”

  Hana took the podium.

“I shall be brief, as I have little to say at this time that my husband has not already said. We wish today only to reveal what is already part of the real world; your belief in it is not required, though your help is. I am peaceful and forgiving by nature and have been asked to share the philosophy by which we live. It is not religion; not do we ask you to follow us in any of our beliefs. But if we do not cooperate as three species, we shall all die. We are not causing this, we seek instead to prevent it.”

“You lie, you seek to make us believe as do you. I shall never convert to any perverse religion in which I do not believe. Speak your blasphemy, then go!”

  Hana ignored the rude comments.

“What we believe in we call the Way. Simply stated, as those who believe in the book would understand, ‘Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.’ That is the sum and substance of our beliefs.”

Hana paused, “The other aspect of our beliefs is what we call the ‘Balance’. This is the fulfilment of the Way and allows all cultures to decide what it means for themselves. As he Greeks defined it, ‘Moderation in all things is best.”

Hana smiled. “This is what we believe; theses are the tenets of our faith. We believe that all religions everywhere, all creatures and all species already accept these tenets of faith. We ask you to examine them too in the coming months and years as we begin to explore what we have need to accomplish to save our planet. We shall be in contact.”

With that, all on the dais disappeared and were back in the City of Light instantly. All others restrained in New York were released.

The news was not taken as well as everyone had hoped.

  Chapter 47

About the only person who woke up the next morning cheerful and in a good mood was Adam. He had gone to bed thinking over the events of the day, the content of the speech he had given, the revelations and the impact of the work to be done. He thought the had laid out the consequences of inaction and the hoped that this would ultimately bring all of mankind united as one. The stakes could not be higher nor his presentation clearer.

To Adam, his speech was laden with data. Data is data and his assertions were not opinion, but fact. His tech, his power and the need for species unity was not up for analysis; these were truths. Unfortunately, most of the world did not believe him; governments, militaries and the Gens of the Collective still loyal to the dead Paulo were gearing up for war. The remnants of the Gens Collective military would not need to come forward yet in a final battle; there was little need. Millions of humans were already threatening Adam and Paraiso; they wanted to call him out and settle this once and for all in battle. Then they would end this nonsense and go back to business as usual.

Unfortunately, the only person who felt calm was Adam, though Hana too felt that the messages were clear and convincing. She felt the side benefit to the Adam speech was the urgent need of humanity to unite in the upcoming time left before the potential for annihilation became imminent.

Adam and Hana’s perception could not have been more wrong nor could the outcome from the previous day have been any worse.

War. War was coming, though the time and place was yet undecided. The humans and their governments all now colluded to stop Adam, and soon a military challenge would be issued to debunk his outrageous claims of superiority. Humanity would not softly give in to “monsters” and “abominations of nature” to rule this planet.

Edward, along with Misti and Noki, had uncharacteristically gotten up exceptionally early to read what had been written in the papers around the world and what had been reported on the TV news, both national and international. To the extent it had been covered or reported on at all, the coverage could be classified as either non-existent, the ravings of a lunatic who had somehow conned his way onto the UN General Assembly stage, or was some sort of technology joke. Adam might just as well have had bluebirds and flowers circling his head like in cartoons. Nobody, except for a few who were actually there, thought this anything but a poorly designed joke.

The military, the politicians and the CEOs of large corporations from the military industrial complex together with other large concerns related to energy, transportation, materials dealers, builders and other manufacturers all breathed a sigh of relief. They would be good to go for years into the future as they counted on the tech to eventually be stolen and sold off.

Banks also breathed easier as the likelihood that their clients would default on loans vanished overnight and assured the entire international banking system that global commerce would continue unimpeded. The various heads of potentially large syndicates in many trade sectors had been warned that trouble might lie ahead, even going to unions to warn them from supporting an abrupt change. Many of their members would not only be faced with unemployment, but massive unemployment on a scale never seen before.

This was nonsense of course, fear mongering at its worst. The ability to retrain into modern and useful activities would replace jobs and the cost of anything from a toaster to a three-bedroom home would be a few dollars to a few hundred dollars. The raw materials, rare earth components and eventually the tech itself would be easy and inexpensive to acquire, inexpensive to operate and could be easily run on special software. Knowledge for the new world could be downloaded to the men and women who operated the tech and supplied raw materials. It would have been more accurate to say that the world economy would change, but not so radically that people were left behind. There would be plenty of work, just not the exploitive kind where capital and large corporations altered elections and lied about a whole host of significant matters from political, to commercial to environmental.

Industry, governments, the military and financial institutions were now talking, conspiring, about how to stop this movement, this tech and this radical change. The focus was on Adam St. James and his entourage. Military and paramilitary groups were scurrying out of their dark corners to gleefully assist with finding and paralyzing Ad
am St. James. They didn’t realize that they could never accomplish that, directly, but there was, nonetheless, a way to stop him. Not by force, murder or assassination, but by instilling and mobilizing fear of the unknown in the masses of humanity. Creating doubt and worry, the threat of a world so compromised that once changed, could never be fixed; that rapid change was their enemy. Fearmongers touted that change to new and novel technologies was risky. It might take years to assess the risk, giant risks into the unknown. During that time of fear, things would go in the direction that things had always gone. This would be their line; they would not stop a technology that worked, just slow it down and pronounce it unsafe until big business signed off on it. To do so would require testing, and testing would require disclosure. When that happened, Adam would be jettisoned and they would take up the tech, protected by government.

Laws would be passed prohibiting the use and implementation of these new technologies; government departments would be established to analyze and test them as the powerful and wealthy would find ways to reverse engineer the tech or deal with St. James once and for all.

None of this would work, of course, because if the two main projects showed no acceptance by Gens, humanity and Nobilus as a group, Liara would step in and resolve the matter herself. The three species would collaborate, or Earth would be reduced to molten iron and stone. Of course, the predominant species on the planet, with only a few exceptions that mattered, had any idea of the fate that awaited them.
