Her hands fisted in my shirt, weakly dragging me deeper into her embrace while I devoured her mouth. I could’ve sworn my heart tried to beat again.
Reluctantly, I separated our mouths when I was completely breathless. My gaze froze on her swollen, glistening lips. “You taste just like I remember,” I whispered.
She opened her mouth to say something, but the bright lights suddenly flickered on and the music was cut.
“Thank you everyone for coming to Olivia’s eighteenth birthday!” the DJ said over the mic. “You don’t have to go home but you can’t stay here,” he laughed loudly with his corny joke.
Everyone around us started moving off the dance floor, but we didn’t break apart. When I peered into her wide emerald eyes, I detected a hint of fear and sadness.
“What’s the matter, Livvy?”
“I don’t want this to end. I’m not ready to let you go.”
I placed my hands on either side of her face. “I’m not going anywhere, baby.”
“You mean, this wasn’t like some kind of Cinderella wish where everything goes back to the way it was at midnight?”
I laughed. “No. I’m not ever leaving you, Olivia.” Quickly, I pulled her in for one last, slow kiss.
Someone cleared their throat, causing us to break apart.
“Oh, hi, Mom,” she said nervously.
“It’s time to go, honey. The party’s over.” She smiled sweetly, but I could tell from the look in her eyes that she wasn’t too happy. “It was nice to meet you, Donovan.”
I nodded. “You too, ma’am.”
She held out her hand, and Olivia took it, but I quickly whispered, “Leave your window unlocked for me,” before she stepped away.
I stood there, in the center of the empty dance floor, watching her go.
Once everyone was gone, I made my way to her house and stood outside until every light was shut off. For good measure, I waited another thirty minutes, hoping to allow her mom to fall asleep. Finally, I couldn’t wait anymore. I made my way to the back of the house and looked up at the second story, trying to figure out which one was her room. One window was completely covered in dark curtains, and I assumed it was her mom’s. In the dark, I scanned the row of windows until I found one that was slightly cracked. That’s my girl.
I climbed the lattice up the back of the house, my fingers tangling in the vines growing up it, until I got to her window. Holding on with only one hand, I used the other to push open the window further and climbed quietly inside.
She was already asleep, so I lay beside her, watching her slumber. Her red hair was splayed across her pillow. Her pink, plump lips were slightly parted. And her long eyelashes fanned across her cheeks. She was stunning.
I leaned in and pressed a tender kiss to her forehead, causing her eyes to pop open. “You’re here,” she whispered as she wrapped her arms around me, pulling me closer.
“I told you I wasn’t leaving.” I smiled, happy she was so excited.
Suddenly, she dragged me in for a kiss as her leg wrapped around my hip. Her kiss was fierce. Demanding. I could no longer process a single clear thought. When she let out a little whimper, something inside of me snapped. I rolled us over, sliding between her parted knees and tangling my fingers into her hair, all while keeping her mouth against mine.
My hips started rocking on their own, rubbing against her core which was only covered by a thin pair of panties. Her t-shirt slowly rode up her toned stomach. Greedy fingers inched their way up her shirt, gliding over the soft skin of her stomach and landing on her breast with a firm squeeze. She let out a soft moan and lifted her hips to meet my thrust.
In my mind, we were no longer in her room with the need to be quiet. Rather we were back in Hell, sneaking around behind the devil’s back, and there was only one thing I wanted.
I broke the kiss the trailed kisses down her jaw to her neck.
She whimpered. “Donovan, please. I need you.”
“I need you too, Livvy,” I whispered, continuing to rock my hips against her. I was rock hard and aching to slide into her hot center. But then, a thought crossed my mind. What if I sent her to Hell?
I broke the kiss and slowed my hips, removing myself from her.
“No, don’t stop,” she whined as I settled back beside her.
I was completely breathless and angry because I still couldn’t take the only fucking thing I wanted. Her. She was all I needed — all I wanted. Yet, I was afraid to take what she so desperately wanted to give. It didn’t matter what Abe had said. The what ifs kept plaguing me. I just needed a little more time.
“I’m sorry, Livvy.” I rolled to my side to face her. “We’re going too fast.”
“But it feels right, doesn’t it?” She studied me for several seconds debating on what she wanted to say. “I mean, I don’t know what it is, but when you touch me, it’s like somewhere deep inside of me remembers you somehow. I know it doesn’t make any sense.” She shook her head at the absurdity of it.
“It just means we’re meant to be together.” I planted my lips on hers, giving her a soft, but sweet kiss.
“You promise you won’t leave? That you won’t return to my dreams?” she asked against my lips.
“I promise,” I whispered back. “Sleep now, Livvy.”
I lay there for hours, just holding her and watching her sleep. I didn’t move until I heard movement in the other room, indicating her mom was awake. Since I didn’t want to get her in trouble, I forced myself to stand. Moving to the foot of her bed, I watched her sleep for a moment more. My heart ached at the idea of leaving, but I willed myself back to my apartment in Hell.
When I walked in my front door, I found Abe pacing the floor.
“I did it, man. You were right.”
“You walked in her world?”
I couldn’t contain my smile as I nodded my head. “I strolled in just as she blew out her candles. Then I spent the entire night holding her.” I collapsed onto the couch, already longing to hold her again.
“Did you seal the deal?”
I shook my head. “No, I’m afraid to. I mean, what if I send her back to Hell?”
He sat down at my side. “I don’t know, man. I think it’s worth a shot. I mean, you did walk on Earth. That part was true.”
I waved my hand through the air. “I just need some time. Make sure she loves me, trusts me.”
“Just be patient, man. You’ll figure it all out and then… you’ll dethrone the devil.” He gave me a Cheshire grin.
I looked at him but didn’t say anything. He only reminded me how much the odds were stacked against us. I’d always thought finding her again would be nearly impossible. But finally, I found her, and not only got to touch her in her dreams but in her world too. It all seemed too good to be true.
Was there a way to make our love last? Could we beat the devil?
Donovan
“Oh, just like that!” Monica, the busty blonde I was currently palm deep inside, moaned as my fingers thrust in and out of her hot center. I turned my head, so I wouldn’t have to look at her, my teeth clenched.
My stomach rolled as I continued my assault on her wet heat.
It’s not Monica. It’s Olivia. My fingers are in her. It’s her nails digging into my back. Olivia is the one moaning out my name as her hips thrust in time to my fingers.
“Oh, Donovan! I want you. I want all of you. Now!” Monica commanded, her voice low and husky as she tugged me closer to her.
Growling, I jerked my fingers out of her and shoved her onto her back. Her legs fell open, revealing her glistening core. I edged myself closer, poised at her entrance. I wasn’t sure why I looked at her face, but I did. Our stares locked, her blue eyes heavy with lust.
“I-I can’t,” I swallowed, backing away to the end of the bed and standing, my hands trembling. I wanted to be with Olivia so much. I knew I had to do this, but it truly twisted my insides to be with another woman.
“What?” Monica’s dark brows shot up on her fore
head in surprise. She wasted no time in crawling to me and getting to her feet. I flinched, my body tense, as her hand grasped my dick. She stroked it slowly making me close my eyes as a low hiss escaped my lips.
“You know you want to be buried deep inside of me.” She kissed the corner of my mouth. I didn’t move, didn’t talk. When I opened my eyes, she went to her knees before me, peeking up at me with her baby blues fixed on my face and her hand still around my dick.
Her tongue flicked out and tasted me, a tiny giggle escaping her lips.
“You’re so hard for me,” she breathed out, sucking the head of my cock into her hot mouth.
I clenched my fists and counted to ten slowly in my head.
This is how I get Olivia back. I have to do this!
But what if she hates me when she realizes what I had to do?
What if her memory never comes back?
But what if I don’t do this and lose her forever?
What if I do and still lose her?
I knew deep down this was who I was—a creature who fucked and took what I needed. Well, if I wanted Olivia, I was going to have to keep fucking other women to get her. That was the deal. The curse. And I wanted it gone from our existence. I wanted to get past this, then send the devil packing. It was a thought I kept rolling around in my head. He deserved to be the one screwed over.
To win, I had to lose. Steeling myself, I forced myself to look at the woman who had her hand fisted around my dick.
“Tell me you want this.” Her tongue teased my shaft.
“I want this.” The lie was ugly and painful. But I knew it’d be worth it someday. It had to be. Her lips parted, and she pulled me deep inside. I let out a groan as she sucked and teased me. A warm tingling began to take over, signaling that she needed to stop.
I twined my fingers in her long, blonde locks and tugged her away.
“I want you to make love to me, Donovan. Do you want that?” She looked up at me again, begging me to say the sweet words she craved. I stared down at her, knowing damn well I had to say the words, or something close to them. And even worse, perform them.
“Monica, baby, you know the kind of guy I am.” I brought her to her feet and planted a deep kiss on her lips. When I pulled away, she was gasping for air. “I just want to fuck you, so you’ll feel good. Will you let me do that?”
“Yes.” She nodded vigorously, already trying to tug me back to the bed. She tried to lie on her back again, but I knew I wouldn’t be able to stand to see her face, so I grasped her hips and bent her over. I didn’t give her any warning. I slammed into her, her wails of pleasure echoing around us.
And I did it over and over again with my eyes squeezed shut and my jaw clenched as I imagined she was my Livvy.
When I’d finally spilled everything I had into her, I released my hold. Her body rolled lifelessly to the side, her blue eyes cloudy with death. Pulling the sheet over her, I let out a sigh and yanked my clothes back on, leaving her on the bed. I stepped back into dreamscape, still feeling sick to my stomach. I needed Olivia.
Peering into the real world, I found her in school, sitting at her desk with her plump lips set in a deep frown as she scribbled in her notebook.
Van. Donovan. Weaver. Dreamweaver. Livvy. Olivia Ryan. 1821.
Her hand flew over the paper, the words scrawling out as if stuck on repeat.
She was remembering! 1821 was the mortal year we’d fallen in love. It was the year the devil stole her away. I pulled away, needing to get to her. Squeezing my eyes closed, I envisioned her world. I concentrated on it so hard that when the dull ache of ascending started, I eagerly welcomed it. When I broke the surface, I let out a gasping cough, finding that I’d landed in a parking lot in front of an apartment building. It was as if fate knew I needed a plan. I went inside and convinced the old, nearly senile woman running the place to give me an apartment. Being a demon, I could charm my victims. It wasn’t something I ever used in hell. Now, it was coming in handy. I even got myself a car to drive.
With a deep, confidant breath, I made my way to Olivia’s school, the eagerness to get to her eating at me. When I arrived, I wheeled the new Jeep into a parking spot and climbed out. I hastily got myself together, desperate to get to her.
I’d have to enroll if I wanted to see her during the day, so I raced to the office, making a few wrong turns along the way until I found it.
“Can I help you?” a woman who couldn’t have been older than twenty-eight asked. She looked uptight as hell with her dark bun, glasses, and collar buttoned to the top.
“Yes. I need to enroll in classes. My name is Donovan Weaver.”
“OK, are your parents with you?” She peered past me to look for my parents.
“No, I’m eighteen,” I lied. No way she’d believe I was a thousand-year-old demon. “I’m doing this on my own.”
The wheels turned in her head as I waited impatiently. I turned on the charm.
She pulled her bottom lip between her teeth, her dark eyes sizing me up. Great. She hadn’t been laid in a while. I could sense it—a new perk of my strength having grown tremendously since gaining all the souls.
Fuck.
“I can enroll you with your identification. Do you have any?”
I shook my head. “But maybe we could work something out.”
Her eyes went wide for a moment, that familiar nausea I’d become accustom to rising up into my throat.
“I-I don’t know—”
“What’s your name?” I asked, leaning on the counter and giving her a sexy smile. Her cheeks reddened as she stared back at me.
“Jessie.”
Was another part of the curse I couldn’t charm the younger women with my demon magic and had to use my cock? Fucking figured. I couldn’t wait to tear Lucifer’s head from his body.
“Well, Jessie, I really need to enroll here. And I daresay you could really use someone to pay you some attention.” I tossed her an easy wink. “So, what do you say you take a break, and we find somewhere to be alone?”
“O-OK.” She nodded, gathering papers.
“Good girl,” I praised her. I held my hand out to her as she got to her feet, her cheeks still flushed.
“W-we can use one of the empty classrooms down the hall,” she said in a shaky voice. I followed her to the hall and into an empty room. She stepped inside, and I shut the door behind us. When I turned back to her, she looked like a deer caught in the headlights.
“I-I never do this—”
“Me either.” I chuckled, my stomach churning. “But you have to start somewhere, right?”
“I-I guess.”
I was standing in front of her again. She was as nervous as I was sick. And there was something else. She was sweet. Kind. I felt it ebbing off her. She didn’t deserve to die. In the dreams, I never felt that with the women. Maybe because it was a subconscious thing. Jessie needed a little coaxing. So, did I, because I sure as hell didn’t want to have to have sex with her.
Leaning in, I planted a kiss on her lips. It took her a moment to react, but when she did, she kissed me back deeply. I lifted her up and set her on a table, tugging her skirt up so I could get a good view of what I was dealing with.
White cotton panties. She blushed deeper as my gaze fixed on hers.
I didn’t say anything as I tugged her panties down. Her blushing core was on full display to me.
“Lie back,” I murmured, knowing just what this one needed. She did so without question, and I slipped a finger through her wet folds, finding her tight hole and dipping my finger inside. Her body arched, a tiny breath expelling from her lungs. I made quick work of it, her hips rising to meet my fingers in a steady rhythm.
“Oh God,” she moaned out as she clenched around my fingers. Her body shook with her orgasm, her dark eyes rolling back in pleasure. My head snapped around as I thought I heard the door click. No one was there. I mentally gave myself a kick for not locking it. I was probably just imagining things.
I
let her lie for a moment, watching as her body stilled, before I removed my fingers from her.
“T-that was incredible,” she managed, her skin flushed.
“I’m glad you enjoyed it,” I answered, giving her the best smile I could muster. I helped her sit up, and she quickly adjusted herself, so her panties and skirt were back in place. It hadn’t slipped my mind that she was still alive. The thought made my heart surge. Abe had said it was safe for me here. While I hadn’t had sex with her, I’d still given her an orgasm. Many years ago, I’d had an experience where the same thing had happened in a dream without me getting off while she did. She didn’t die until about two months after that. And then it was only because she’d finally let me in, both of us climaxing. That was when I figured our I had to get off too to take a soul.
Not only did this give me a test run in the mortal world, it also got me my student ID card.
“Thank you, Jessie,” I said a half hour later as she handed me my new card.
“No, thank you.” She blushed furiously and cast her gaze to the floor. “I-I’ve never, um, been able to-to do that with anyone before.”
“Do what?” I raised an eyebrow at her.
“Orgasm,” she squeaked out in a tiny breath.
“Then I’m glad I could help.” I winked at her, just wanting to get the hell out of there and see my girl. “Let’s keep this to ourselves, OK?”
“Absolutely.” She smiled shyly at me.
“Good girl.” I backed away toward the door. I had to get to Olivia. I couldn’t stand being away any longer. The guilt at what I’d done was gnashing at my heart. But I’d done it for us. I just hoped she’d be able to understand that when the time came.
Olivia
The bell rang, so I gathered up my belongings and left class. With purpose, I walked down the crowded hallway to my locker and switched out the books I no longer needed. When I turned around, Donovan was standing right in front of me. My mouth dropped open as a heavy breath left my lips.
“What are you doing here?” I wrapped my arms around him and pulled him in for a long hug that nearly made my knees go weak.
