Please, Creed, don’t. I begged with him silently. He then turned back to face me fully.
“Your old man wanted me gone, so I went.” His gaze ran over me. “You had a good night?”
I stepped in closer to him, keeping my hand in his. “Mum’s pregnant,” I said, and for some reason, I couldn’t stop the smile on my face.
Creed’s lips twitched up. “How did Hades take that?”
“Really well. Can’t you tell?” I gestured to the club, which was buzzing.
“Wondered why he was letting everyone celebrate on his most hated day of the year.” Creed’s gaze landed back on me. “I guess knocking up your wife is worth a celebration.”
It was the look Creed was giving me that made me wonder what was running through his mind. I couldn’t stop myself from stepping in closer to Creed.
“It’s like it’s the first time he’s been told he is going to be a father,” I said as Creed’s other hand went to my hip, me now standing in front of him.
“Wondered why he was letting everyone celebrate on his most hated day of the year.” My gaze was back on Holly. Fuck she was breathtaking. “I guess knocking up your wife is worth a celebration.” Fuck. If you asked me, Hades was a lucky bastard. I couldn’t stop comparing it to if Holly were my wife, I wouldn’t keep my hands off her. But having her pregnant with my kid, yeah, life wouldn’t get any better.
Her fingers linked with mine, and I knew I had to let her go back to her family. I could nearly hear Hades wondering where his whiskey was.
“I’ll let ya go.” I didn’t fucking want to, but she had Hades’ favourite whiskey in hand.
“Come sit with me.” She pulled on my hand with an enchanting smile on her face. The type of smile I couldn’t say fucking no to—even if it meant facing down her murderous father and trigger-happy brother.
I let her drag me towards their table. As people stepped out of view, I took in the Kincaid family. There was basically a smoke ring above them. Hades had a grin on his face as he spoke to Zara—until he glanced over and saw me.
Even fucking Kobra’s jaw tightened when he saw Holly’s and my hands linked. The bastards were looking at me, expecting me to run. But I wasn’t the guy who ran. So my grip on Holly’s hand got firmer, even taking it a step further by pulling the chair out for her. Hades’ and Kobra’s pissed-off faces made me drag the chair next to Holly closer to her.
I would have had her on my lap, but I figured it was Hades’ birthday, and I didn’t want the man to have a heart attack.
“See you made it back into town.” Hades took the cigar from his mouth. “Early,” he added, making it known to me that he didn’t fucking want me here, which just made me grin, my hand falling onto the back of Holly’s chair.
“Not drinking tonight, pretty boy?” Kobra said, gripping a scotch glass filled with his father’s whiskey. I wanted to remark but didn’t want Holly forced to pick between me bleeding out and Kobra. ’Cos fuck knows we’d both get a round off at each other.
“Yeah, gotta get one,” I said. I had been heading to the bar when I spotted Holly.
“I’ll get you one.” Holly was up before I could say anything. Just as she turned around, I saw the biker’s beer go all over Holly’s cream dress, making it see-through within seconds. She gasped, and the man’s eyes were on Holly’s rack. He looked for two seconds too long. I did what I did to all my problems and swung my fist.
He looked up at me from the ground, stunned that I hadn’t knocked him out—it was a warning shot, after all.
My attention went from the biker to Holly.
I could feel other men’s eyes being drawn to her, so I dropped my vest on the chair, pulled my hoodie off, and threaded it over her. It was as long as the dress, dropping down near her knees.
She was slightly stunned. Then I saw that Hades and Kobra were up, also. It looked like I had been one step ahead of them.
“You all right?” I asked, my eyes going back to Holly.
“You’re going to get cold,” Zara said.
My gaze went back to Holly, and I could see the concern in her eyes. “I’ll go get another one from my room,” I said and smiled at her. “I’ll be back, darling.” As I walked away, I saw Hades talking to a member.
Fuck. I left my vest on the table. Bet Hades was going to get up at me about that. I unlocked my door and walked in. Fuck, I needed to do the washing. Wasn’t like I could chat up a club girl to do it. Don’t know why, but doing that didn’t sit well with me. When I heard my door close, I spun around.
I relaxed slightly, seeing Holly.
I opened my mouth as I watched her grip the hem of my hoodie as she pulled it off. The top of her dress was fully see-through. And my dick throbbed at seeing her nipples.
“Men are gonna stare if you don’t keep covered,” I said, annoyed she wouldn’t keep my hoodie on. Did she not want to wear it because it was mine? Was that it?
She slowly dropped the hoodie on the ground. “I don’t have a problem with the man currently looking.” She slowly ran her hand over the strap of her dress. “Though I’d prefer if he were touching.” The little sexy minx had her eyes locked on me.
“You’re playing with fire, darling,” I warned her. I swallowed as she pushed the strap of her dress down her shoulder.
“You want me to go?” She innocently unzipped the side of her dress while her other hand held the dress to her breasts. “’Cos I’m sort of cold. I was hoping you could warm me up.”
I swallowed sharply. Fuck!
My hands were on her within seconds, and I was the one fully unzipping her dress. My lips went to hers, and this time, I would take my fucking time.
“Strip.” That one word caught me by surprise. I could see her looking evilly at me but with a little wonder, too. “I want to know if that tattoo on your stomach goes any lower.”
She didn’t even hide that she had previously checked me out.
I pulled back and took my shirt off. I could see her gaze go over my tattoos, and I smirked when her top teeth sank into her bottom lip.
My hands went to her hips as my mouth stopped at her ear. “Like what you see, darling?”
Her hand was on my chest as she pushed me back towards the bed. “I just hope you are as dedicated to fucking as you are to working on these muscles.”
I smirked just as someone banged on the door. “Fuck off!” I shouted at whoever it was.
“If you two aren’t back at the party in the next five minutes, next time, I won’t be knocking,” Kobra’s unwelcomed voice shouted from the other side of the door.
I heard his boots as he stomped off. I pinched the bridge of my nose as Holly sighed.
“Yeah, darling, they aren’t gonna make it easy,” I said, gritting my teeth, feeling her frustration. As she went to pick up that dress, I stopped her, grabbed one of my T-shirts, and handed it to her.
Her lips twitched up. “Thanks,” she said, and I watched as she pulled it on.
I adjusted myself in my jeans. It was going to be one long fucking night. Holly took my hand as we walked out, but I couldn’t settle for just holding her hand, so I pulled her back into my chest and walked out with an arm wrapped around her waist.
Just as we got free of the hallway, “Old-time Rock and Roll” blared through the clubhouse. I smirked as I saw Hades spinning Zara around, but my gaze dropped to Holly. I couldn’t control the smile that captured my face as I stared down at her, listening to her giggling.
Fuck, she’s beautiful.
Kobra was the one to pull her from my arm. I watched as her brother took her to the open dance floor. I put it down to a mixture of drugs and liquor, seeing the other men moving their women. My eyes were on Holly as Kobra spun her around. I think he grabbed her just to get her out of my grip. Seeing her giggling while he turned her around to the point I thought she was going to be sick before dipping her, hearing her squeal and her laughter made me smile. Then he lifted her back, just in time to spin her into Hades’ arms, and Zara
went to Kobra.
The music was so loud you couldn’t think, but Hades was belting out the lyrics, and Holly was too. Watching Holly dance with Hades made me realise that to get her, I had to do right by her old man. Hades spun her back to Kobra, and there was no doubting that these men would do anything to protect her.
Fuck, they were making fools of themselves.
My vest being pushed into my chest made me look to my side, seeing Ivy.
“Not a dancer?” I shouted at her, to which she laughed.
“Just not high enough like them,” she shouted back before wandering off, and I shrugged my vest back on.
Kobra spun Holly. These men were feared for a reason, but right now, all you could see was their love for their blood, their family. Kobra did a final spin of Holly, and the music slowly started to die down.
“Someone, crack open the kegs!” Hades shouted before the next song kicked in, which turned out to be ACDC’s “Highway to Hell.”
Fuck, there was no doubt this was going to be one long fucking night.
The music got louder, and the prospects were about to learn what it was like when Hades Kincaid was on an all-nighter and how his men would follow him blindly. I saw the pool table covers coming off, which meant one thing—the night was just beginning, and it was going to get messy.
Walking up behind Holly, I wrapped an arm around her. “Want a game?” I nodded my head towards the pool table.
Hades was standing beside her, and he laughed. “Boy, ya gonna get whipped by my girl.” He looked me in the eye. “Made sure my girls knew how to handle themselves on the table, knowing how much members like strip pool.”
“I wasn’t suggesting—”
“He knows, Creed,” Holly said, turning around in my arm and smirking at me. “After all, you’d have to be pretty fucking stupid to challenge me to strip pool with my dad standing there.”
She pulled on my arm, leading us towards a table, and my mouth went to her ear. “Especially while knowing you are only wearing one thing,”
She rolled her eyes, and I let go of her as she went to get pool sticks. Next thing I knew, Kobra was on one side of me and Hades the other, one handing me an empty scotch glass, the other giving me the whiskey.
“You let her win, and you’re in fucking trouble,” Hades said to me as I looked between the glass and the whiskey. “Come on, son, if you’re gonna be hungover in the morning, might as well have had the good shit.” He did have a point. Normally, I just didn’t touch straight whiskey. Never seen or heard of him being in such a good mood. Had to be the drugs, right? Then I saw his eyes go to Zara and as weak as this sounded, I knew it wasn’t drugs. It was his woman.
“Wait,” I said, looking at them. “Why can’t I let her win?”
“’Cos she is better than us, so at least put up a fucking fight,” Kobra said just before Holly was back and handing me a pool cue. She had a wide grin on her face.
“You know you are going to need help, right?” she said as she went to break.
“Think that much of your pool skills, eh?”
She laughed, leaning over the table. “I was talking about you drinking with my father and brother.” She then broke, the balls flying everywhere, and she sunk two. “As for pool, there is no help for you.” She then gave me a confident wink while walking around the table.
It was when she sunk the next ball she lined up that the possibility of getting the pants beat off me ran through my head. The ball went into the corner pocket, and fuck, I might be in trouble like the boys said.
The drinks didn’t stop. Creed and Kobra were suddenly best mates—even Dad was getting along with Creed. Mum was the only sober one. Oh, and Creed had lost every game of pool to me. To his credit, though, he did get to sink a few balls.
“So,” Dad said loudly, looking at Creed, “you in love with my daughter?”
“Dad!” I yelled at him.
“It’s just a question.” Kobra went to Dad’s defence. What a surprise.
“You all have had too much to drink.” I simply stated a fact and even pushed my shot glass away from me. Not to mention the joints they were smoking.
Kobra’s lips twitched up. Oh no. I knew that look. “Don’t think Creed has it in him.”
“Do not start anything!” I whacked Kobra on the arm. But then I saw Creed’s eyes on me and a smile on his face. “This could be your song!” Kobra kept speaking. “Born to Be My Baby” by Bon Jovi started playing.
“Creed doesn’t dance,” I said quickly, trying to save him from my brother and father forcing him to do something he didn’t want to do.
“A man not man enough to dance with his woman, eh?” Dad said, and my gaze shot to him. Dad’s eyes were on Creed. “Then again, she’s isn’t your woman, now is she?”
“Do not do that reverse psychology on him.” I gave Dad a pointed look, but I then saw Creed throw the drink back.
Please, God, don’t make him.
But Creed was getting up.
“Stop, you don’t have to dance with me. They’re just trying to get under your skin!” I said as Creed stopped at my side.
“Probably right, and they’ll probably hang it over my head for the rest of my life.” Creed extended his hand. “But still, Holly Kincaid, will you dance with me?”
I hesitated, but I knew he was putting himself on the line now, even though he’d had a lot to drink. My heart was racing as his smouldering grey eyes locked on me. That was when I slipped my hand into his, getting up.
“You can thank us for picking your wedding song!” Kobra shouted at us as we moved onto the dance floor.
Creed pulled me into his arms. I felt the safety and security wrapping around me as I was in his arms. I felt nervous, and then I looked up, seeing his eyes on mine, and suddenly, I didn’t feel scared anymore, the safety and security I felt as his hand moved up before he spun me around and then pulled me back in his arms.
“So much for not being a dancer,” I commented as a grin spread across my face.
“Come on, darling. What did you expect? I was a billionaire’s kid.” He then dipped his head, his lips twitching up. “Reckon I’ll get away with kissing ya?”
“Hands higher, boy!” Dad shouted from the sidelines, making Creed and me laugh.
That was when it happened. The walls around my heart dropped, and my love for him outweighed the fear of hiding my love for him. As he gave me his charming grin, I knew I was a goner. In his arms, while dancing in my father’s bar to a song I didn’t know, I knew this would be a day that would haunt me. It was then that I accepted that I, Holly Kincaid, was in love with Creed Winston, my father’s enforcer and a true blood biker. For the first time, I felt like he felt something other than friendship for me…and that was my downfall right there.
My head was pounding, to the point that I couldn’t open my fucking eyes. The slight opening in the curtain was letting light in, and it felt like the sunlight was making everything a hell of a lot worse. I groaned when there was a knock on my dorm door. I physically couldn’t open my eyes, let alone get out of bed.
What the fuck was Hades’ whiskey made of—pure and utter poison?
I heard the door unlock, and only one other person had a key.
“Creed?” Holly’s voice was so soft, and I then heard the door close softly. I groaned when I felt the bed dip. “How are you feeling?”
I couldn’t open my eyes. All I could do was make some weird grunt as I groaned.
I kept my arm across my face. That was when the little light that was getting in stopped. Holly must have fixed the curtain.
Holly gently pulled my arm from my face and laid a cold face washer and ice pack across my face.
“Trust me. It helps,” Holly whispered in my ear before kissing my cheek.
I might have been barely alive, but I knew I didn’t want her to leave, so I weakly tried to stop her from getting up by putting my hand on her lap.
“Don’t go,” I bit out. I wanted to see her face, but
I physically couldn’t open my eyes. Was it selfish of me to want to hold her, even in this state? My need for her overpowered my better judgement.
Her fingers were running over my arm, tracing my tattoos, when I felt her lean closer. Hell, I knew she got closer because her scent was intoxicating.
“I won’t,” she whispered in my ear and then kissed my cheek again. I don’t know why, but just knowing she wasn’t going anywhere had my body rejecting my need for sleep. The feel of her touch was intoxicating, casting relaxation through me.
Holly Kincaid. She was the type of girl all us blokes wanted. Not just for the flawless figure. Nah. Holly was the whole package. When you watched her smile light up her entire face and saw her electric blues get fuelled with happiness—well, it just caused you to smile as well. But that was nothing on the woman she was. Loyalty for the club, her family, ran through her veins. She was the type of girl to lie dead straight to the police to protect her family. On top of that, she had intelligence that outdid any other woman I knew.
But the main reason every member of this club would want to lock down a girl like Holly was because of her club loyalty. She understood the lifestyle in a way a club girl never could. A club girl, she’d spread her legs, but she would also open her mouth to the police if pressed.
Holly was the type of girl that would pull the gun from the back of your waist and point it straight in your enemy’s face if needed, and I had no fucking doubt that Holly would, and could, pull the trigger.
The type of blood that ran through Holly’s veins was unquestionably the golden elixir that every biker wanted in their old lady.
Then, there with her loyalty was her heart, pure and caring. When she loved, she loved hard, and just like her loyalty, her love had no limits.
It was customary around the club that when we needed laundry done, we got a club girl to do it. You know, put the lines and charm on thick. Every biker in this clubhouse did it. I normally did the same thing, till I fucked Holly in her bedroom. That quick fuck, well, it was as if I had sold my soul. Because I couldn’t even charm my normal club girl into doing my laundry. I settled on just buying new clothes. Can’t fucking explain it. I was single, a hundred per cent fucking single. But I was beginning to question that. Because as weak as this sounded, my heart was claimed by Holly. Every time a girl made a move on me, every fucking time, my skin would crawl, and it just didn’t feel right.
