Surprise registered on each of their faces but we would have it no other way. They needed to be rewarded for their efforts, just as much as we were. There was no leaving anyone behind.

Alister pulled the pins from my hair and touched my scar. It was the only thing I hadn’t allowed them to cover with makeup for this special day. It was something that I had grown fond of. Something real that reminded me of the trauma that had brought me to Alister.
“Are you happy?” he asked as he pulled me close and freed the rest of my hair.
I kissed his neck and smiled. “You don’t have to worry about any shoes getting thrown your way anytime soon.”
He twirled me around and laughed as his lips captured mine. managed to catch a glimpse out the window before I closed my eyes. This time instead of ashes falling from the sky, it was snow.
Acknowledgments
Every book I finish, this part gets longer. I feel so grateful to have such a fantastic publishing team behind me. From the cover designer to the beta readers. I can’t thank all of you enough. This book would never be possible without yall.
Special thanks goes to Brittany every single chance I get. She makes this dream a reality. Without her I would be stuck in a wasteland of writer’s block and frustration.
To Karisma for putting up with my antics and loving this story more than anyone else… Even though it took you a month to actually read it. Thank you for being my boo thang.
To Tori because you always believed in me, even when I still hated myself. You are the reason I have completed so much. You have continued to be one of my people and for that, I can’t thank you enough. I can’t wait for our next adventure.
To my family and my husband that understand that long nights that go into making this dream a reality, as well as all the money that gets dumped into it too.
To my readers because without your love and reviews, this dream would be a very difficult one to accomplish.
Thank you, all of you, so much.
