Making a quick tour of the room, he checked the larger cupboards, under his desk, and behind the curtains to ensure it was just the two of us, then pulled me over to the couch and across his lap.
Before I knew what he was doing, Collin had my skirt flipped up and his fingers sliding under the gusset of my panties.
"Collin!" I protested.
"That’s Mr. Stark, remember," he corrected teasingly. "My fingers aren't in you…yet."
Their absence inside me lasted all of a heartbeat. Burying my face against the cushion, I moaned and wiggled my ass.
"Don't tempt me, beautiful," he warned, his fingers stroking deeper. "I'm of a firm mind to start a new anniversary tradition. One hard swat for each year."
Unable to suppress either reaction, I moaned and wiggled my ass again.
Withdrawing his fingers, Collin cupped my mound and gave it a hard squeeze. A rough command clawed its way past his flushed lips.
"Roll over."
Compliant and wet, I obeyed. His eyes drifted shut, and then his head bounced side to side like he was arguing with himself. Squirming against his hard thighs, one hip nudging his cock, I tried to speed up the deliberative process for him.
His hands floated blindly up to loosen his tie. Then he attacked his jacket in a clumsy attempt to remove it. As he lifted the material over his head, a glossy sheet of paper dropped from the inside breast pocket and landed against my stomach.
Collin froze, his gaze locked on the paper for a painfully long second before he blinked.
"You were supposed to get that at dinner," he said. "With the kids around so you won't get mad at me."
I wanted to laugh, but he looked so damn serious.
"It's your present, love," he explained before I could really start to worry. "Well, a picture of it."
Grabbing the photograph, I pushed my skirt down at the same time then curled up next to Collin before flipping the glossy sheet over.
My lips parted, a small gasp leaving me.
"I know we agreed rescues only," he said, pulling me back onto his lap and holding me close. "But I see the way you still look at Corabelle's picture when we go through the albums with the kids."
I ran my finger against the image of the buckskin filly, her golden coat an exquisite contrast to the jet black points on her legs and ears and the black mane and tail.
"Ray already checked her out, said her personality is a great match. A bit of a show-off but very gentle."
"Just like Corabelle," I said, my head bobbing, my smile watery and unwavering. “I can’t believe you did this.”
Collin pulled me closer, my thighs parting so that I straddled him. "So I take it, I'm not in trouble," he ventured.
Grinning over his cautious tone, I wrapped my arms around his neck. "You know, I kind of like it that you haven’t got me all figured out yet.”
“You would enjoy driving me crazy like that.”
“As far as performance reviews go, that sounds like more of a compliment than a complaint to me, Mr. Stark.”
“It’s both, Mrs. Stark. And while we’re on the topic, I think it’s time for you to review my performance now.” He grinned as he flipped me onto my back and buried his face between my thighs. “Hang onto something, love. Because I’ve decided to add to that anniversary tradition a bit. Now, I’m thinking we celebrate with one hard swat and one hard orgasm for each new year…”
