Hmmm.
I’ll have to see if she’s okay later when they guys are gone. Something is up though, she walks as far away from him as she can get once she passes the baby over, sitting on a chair in the corner of the room, looking anywhere but his direction. “You okay” I mouth at her while the boys are distracted talking about Michael, nodding at me, she carries on trying to make herself invisible. Looking at Brady, I catch him trying to look at her when he thinks she won’t notice. What the hell is going on between them two.
After the trial, my life started looking up finally. I’m still working on my mental health, but I’m nowhere near as afraid since Gary was sentenced. When I was around 8 months pregnant, I ended up visiting my mum’s grave. I didn’t think I would ever go to see her, but once of the steps I decided to take was to forgive her. I forgave her for how she treated me, the choices she made that led to me being attacked, but most of all, I forgave her for not loving me enough. Annabelle Rice got delt a tough deck of cards, she could have made the most of them and herself, but instead she chose to punish the hand she was delt. Forgiving her was something I didn’t think I could ever do, but it was eating me up inside being so angry at her. So, to better myself and move on, I chose to forgive her. I may never forget, but my life is my own now, and she taught me how not to love. For that lesson, I am actually grateful.
Hayley finally is doing better. She surprised all of us when she sat down Reid and told him about her past, he surprised her right back when he said he already knew. Apparently, Hayley’s mum had also left Reid a letter explaining everything. When he turned 18 his grandmothers lawyer sent it out to him, Hayley was so shocked that he had never brought it up before. Laughing Reid said his grandmother had written in the letter to keep his handsome mouth shut until the day she is ready to tell him. Clever lady. She had written it so when the time came that Hayley was ready to tell him, she wouldn’t have to. She was looking out for even after she’d gone. She was an amazing lady.
Looking around the room at the smiling faces, I can’t help but think of how much my life has changed. Last year I was what I thought was my lowest point, until it got a whole lot worse. I didn’t think I would ever have what I have now, friends who I adore and have been there for me at my best and my worst. I wouldn’t be where I am without their love and support. My son who is the most perfect little thing I’ve ever seen, I never would have imagined I would be a mum at 20, but I don’t regret a thing about how he came to be here.
And most of all, Reid.
I didn’t ever think I would have him back, I thought i would have to live without him. But here we are, stronger than ever, still totally in love.
Turns out we never totally lost each other.
We just lost our way.
Thank you
