The Baby: A Steamy Rock Star Romance (Cruise Control Book 3) Page 10

Lita took a deep breath and considered exactly what he was offering her. Security for herself and her child, an involved father, and sex for her if she wasn’t in a relationship with anyone else. All she had to trade-off was seeing stories online about him sleeping with groupies. They’d been hard to stomach before she’d even met him; how would she feel if she was reading them now?

“I’ll have to think about it, I guess.” She smiled at him. “Look, it’s certainly a better option than what I first thought I’d get, being a single mother to a kid with an absentee father who refuses to acknowledge them.”

Sebastian sighed deeply. “I can’t pretend it doesn’t hurt to hear you say that, Lita. Your opinion of me is so low. You always seem to expect the worst from me.”

“I’m sorry, Seb.” She kissed him to take the sting out of her words. “I’ll admit you’ve been proving a lot of my preconceptions about you wrong since the day I met you.”

“Yes, I did get the feeling you weren’t my biggest fan.” An odd look came over his face, and he asked her, “Gabriel?”

“What about him?” She was confused.

“Was Gabriel your favorite?” he asked.

“Oh, no.” She blushed. How fucking embarrassing. “Hayden.”

Sebastian laughed. “You didn’t even pay any attention to him.”

“I did try,” Lita told him with a wry grin. “But then you were there, all sexual magnetism, calling me ‘princess,’ and begging me to fuck you with every look. How could I resist?”

“Was this how I was looking at you, princess?” he asked her as he looked directly in her eyes, and her heart rate increased.

“Yes, it was something like that.” She smirked at him.

They spent the rest of the weekend in his hotel room, ordering room service when they were hungry, and having sex off and on. They ran over and over the options they were presented with in their current situation. By Sunday lunchtime, when Sebastian had to leave for his flight back to Chicago, Lita was leaning toward keeping the baby.

She told him the date and time of her first appointment with the obstetrician, and he’d promised to fly to Seattle and come with her. Lita was having a scan on the day, and it would be the first time they’d get to see the baby.

In the meantime, she’d think long and hard about this weekend, not just when considering her options about the baby, but also because she now had a lot more material for her future masturbatory fantasies.

  LEVEL 10.5 – Hearts Beat

Your baby is the size of a poker chip.

Just in case you weren’t having enough fun with tender breasts and nausea, you’re now probably experiencing bad gas, as well. Try sipping some peppermint tea, and hoping there is a god. The hormone progesterone also slows the movement of the gut, causing constipation. You may experience headaches, fainting, or dizzy-spells. Be sure to keep your fluids up—water, not alcohol. Guess what, you’re a quarter of the way there now!

Becky was sitting across from Lita at a café in the city. They’d caught up in Becky’s lunch break today. Lita had the day off work and was going to meet Sebastian at the obstetrician’s office. They’d had a few conversations about logistics and the best way to do it so Lita could be kept safe.

“So, I guess you two will be screwing again tonight?” Becky asked her with a laugh.

“I’d be crazy not to,” Lita grinned. “I mean, why would I turn down the number of orgasms that man can give me?”

“Does it bother you that he sleeps with other women?”

“Surprisingly, no.” Lita shrugged. “Not even when we read that post on Reddit last weekend. Like, sure, I don’t particularly enjoy reading about him being with other women, and I might talk to him and say, ‘Yo, don’t give me any gory details,’ or something. But we’re not together as a couple. Just fucking whenever we’re in the same place.”

“And having a baby together,” Becky added.

“Maybe. We’re going to discuss it again after the appointment today. Oh, did I tell you he told me I should move to his estate and raise the baby there?” Lita rolled her eyes.

“Wait, the place where Harrison and Heather got married?” Becky gasped as Lita nodded. “It looked totally gorgeous there! What did you say?”

On cue, her phone lit up with a text from Sebastian, whom she’d entered into her phone contacts as ‘Baby Daddy’ as a joke.

Hey, princess. Just landed. See you soon. See more of you later.

Becky read the screen at the same time as Lita and blew out a breath of air. “Fuck, he’s hot.”

“You should see him naked,” Lita smirked.

She replied to his text as she said it.

I really think I can manage ten whole minutes with my mouth around your cock today. What do you think?

“Do I even want to know what you just wrote that’s put that look on your face, Lolita Ciccone?” Becky raised an eyebrow at her.

“Probably not,” she laughed. “I just told him I want to give him head.”

“Didn’t you say it hurts your jaw?”

  Sebastian’s reply came through.

I’ll set a timer. You can take several goes at it to total ten minutes if you want. If you manage a full ten minutes straight, I’ll give you a thousand dollars.

“I don’t know; it seems like a small price to pay for a thousand dollar return on my investment.” Lita laughed and showed Becky her phone.

  “Is he serious?” she gasped.

  “Maybe.” Lita shrugged.

“Fuck, I’ll blow him for ten minutes for a thousand bucks.” Becky winked at her.

“Good luck with that. My record is two minutes and thirty-eight seconds.”

“I still can’t believe you’re fucking him.” Becky shook her head.

“Me either. Oh my god, he asked me who my favorite band member was.” Lita blushed bright red when she said it.

“I would die,” Becky said. “Did you tell him?”

“Yes, he thought it would be Gabriel.” Lita shrugged. “It’s so weird, though. He just casually gives me this huge gossip about stuff like it’s nothing.”

“What do you mean?” Becky sounded intensely curious.

“Well, the other day, we were talking on the phone to organize today, and he mentioned Hayden’s girlfriend broke up with him. I so wanted to ask for details, but I had to keep my cool and be chill.”

“So, like, does this mean you’re kind of a part of the band now?” Becky asked her.

Lita started to say she wasn’t, but then thought about it a bit more. “Fuck, I guess. Sort of. In the same way Heather and Ariana are. Luckily, nobody has a fucking clue about me, though.”

“Heather does,” Becky said and covered her mouth quickly with her hand.

“What the fuck?” Lita narrowed her eyes at Becky. “We don’t have secrets, bitch. Spill.”

“She’s been messaging me on Insta.” Becky wrinkled her nose. “Please don’t be mad at me!”

  “Since when?” Lita gasped.

“Um, the day you told Sebastian,” Becky admitted.

“And you didn’t tell me? What did she say?”

“She just wanted to know more about you. Apparently, Seb told them straight away. I just told her you’re awesome, Seb would be lucky to have you, and you’ll be an amazing mother if you have the baby,” Becky said.

  “Let me see?” Lita asked.

Becky shook her head. “Sorry, Lita, I know we don’t have secrets, but it’s just she’s really nice; I’d feel bad showing you.”

It was weird; Becky and Lita never hid anything from each other. Lita couldn’t stop herself from frowning; she really wanted to read their conversation and know what Heather had said about her.

“Hey,” Becky offered. “I’ll ask her if I can show you. If she’s cool with it, that’s fine.”

“Nice to see where your loyalties lie,” Lita sulked but laughed.

Becky pulled out her phone and opened the Instag
ram app to send Heather a message. As she did, Lita decided to reply to Sebastian’s text.

A thousand dollars doesn’t seem like enough. Ten thousand, minimum, for the pain and suffering of getting lockjaw.

Lita ate some of her food, and Becky was telling her about the woman at her work who drove her nuts with the annoying things she did in their work cubicle when Becky’s phone lit up with a direct message from Heather. The message was displayed on her screen, and they both read it.

  What’s your number?

Becky looked from her phone, up to Lita, and back down again. “Heather Fletcher wants to call me.”

“Give her your number, dude!” Lita said.

Becky sent her phone number through to Heather, and it was less than a minute before her phone started ringing.

“Hello?” She answered it, then was quiet for a second while Heather talked. “Yeah, she’s here with me now.”

Lita was on edge as Becky went silent while Heather said something, then Becky nodded.

“Sure, no worries, here she is.” Her friend held the phone out toward her and said, “She wants to talk to you.”

Lita gave Becky a panicked look, then took the phone. “Hello?”

“Is this Lita?” Heather’s voice was composed and sophisticated.

Lita could envisage her; tall, blonde, and a successful fashion designer, so talented to boot. Her blue wedding dress three months ago had started a trend worldwide for brides to wear colorful dresses. There was so much talk in the fandom about it; everyone had expected her to go traditional, but the dress she’d designed and made herself had been exquisite.

“Yes, it is,” Lita replied, hardly believing she was talking to her.

“Becky asked me if you could read our conversations on Insta; I thought it would be easier just to talk directly,” Heather laughed.

“Oh, okay.” Lita didn’t know what else to say.

“Was there something specific you wanted to know?” Heather asked her.

“Any idea how many women Sebastian has been sleeping with lately?”

Fuck. Lita had asked it without thinking.

“Ouch, it’s lovely to meet you, Lita. I have been told you don’t shy away from awkward conversations,” Heather laughed. “I haven’t personally spent any time in Seb’s bed, so I don’t know for certain. If it makes you feel better, though, I would estimate there’s been less since he met you.”

“Why did people think you two were having an affair?” Lita wondered out loud.

Heather was clearly amused. “Because we make stupid jokes. You’ll get used to it.”

“I still haven’t decided if I’m going to keep the baby,” Lita admitted to Heather with a sigh. “I just wanted to meet my favorite band, not become a mother.”

There was silence on the other end of the line for a few moments. “I know, darling. This must be very difficult for you. I don’t pretend to know the answer, but I do love Sebastian very much. He treats women like shit”—Lita cringed. She knew that from first-hand experience—“but to me, to Ariana, to Ally”—Lita clocked this name and thought this must be Hayden’s recent ex-girlfriend—“he’s amazing. I couldn’t have gotten through last year without him. When Harrison and I were broken up, he basically babysat me until I felt better.

“I could spend hours telling you all the ways he’s been an amazing friend to me and the other people he loves. This probably isn’t what you expected or planned for your life; I get that. Find a man. Get married. Have a baby. It’s drilled into us from the time we’re little girls, right? Well, it’s 2021, darling, sometimes it doesn’t happen that way, and that’s okay.

“Whatever you decide, I know Seb is completely dedicated to supporting you through it. All I’m asking of you is not to hurt him.”

Lita scoffed when Heather finished talking. “As if I could hurt him.”

“I know some of the things you’ve said, Lita.” Heather sounded stern. “I get where you’re coming from, but he does feel deeply for the people he cares about. I have very good reason to believe you are now one of those people.”

“What’s that dude’s name?” Lita searched her memory. “Daryl? Yeah, he should fire Daryl and hire you instead.”

Heather laughed. “I’m pretty protective of Seb, that’s true. Whatever you decide, Lita. I’m glad we talked, and I do hope we get to meet. Regardless of what happens.”

“Why would we meet if I end the pregnancy?” Lita was confused.

“Do you think ending the pregnancy means Sebastian will never see you again?” Heather asked her.

“Well, yeah. I assumed that would be the case.”

“I see.” There was silence from Heather’s end of the line for a few seconds. “I have to go, darling. Thanks for taking the time to talk to me. Becky has my number now. Feel free to call me whenever.”

Their call ended, and Lita blew out a breath, thinking about what Heather had asked her. Of course, she had assumed if she ended the pregnancy, she would never see Sebastian Fox again. Lita hadn’t realized until now how sad this idea made her. The sex between them was explosive, sure, but also, she enjoyed his company. He was funny, and he made her smile, even if they did argue like crazy sometimes.

“What did she say?” Becky was looking at her.

“She told me how amazing Seb is—oh, and she warned me not to hurt him.” Lita blinked at Becky, wondering what the hell Heather meant by that.

“Yeah, but how many women has he been sleeping with, and why did people think they were sleeping together?” Becky grinned. “I cannot believe you asked her that!”

“She doesn’t know, but she did say she thinks it’s less than before he met me. Apparently, they make ‘stupid jokes,’ and ‘I’ll get used to it.’” Lita shrugged.

“So, I guess the question is…” Becky raised an eyebrow at her. “If it doesn’t bother you if he sleeps with other women, why was that literally the first question you asked Heather?”

Lita cringed. “Yeah, look, I know who Sebastian is. I got knocked up by the world’s biggest whore, and I’m okay with him sleeping with other women; it doesn’t mean I’m not curious how many there are. I’m not exactly going to ask him.”

“This whole situation is so fucking bizarre.” Becky cringed.

“Tell me about it. She also asked me if I thought ending the pregnancy meant Seb would never see me again.” Lita frowned.

“Oh, yeah, I would’ve thought so,” Becky shrugged. “Does she not think so?”

“I don’t know; she had to go.” Lita looked at her watch. “Shit, speaking of which, so do I.”

“Oh my god, good luck. Let me know how it goes.” Becky stood and hugged her.

Lita made her way to her obstetrician’s office, walking inside and carrying a bottle of water with her. She had to drink thirty-two ounces before her scan, and she felt like her bladder might burst already. She waved to Sebastian, who was sitting in one of the chairs in the office and was definitely attracting the attention of the other patients, although no one seemed to be bothering him.

She walked up to the desk, signed some paperwork, and then walked over to Sebastian, dropping into the chair next to him and moaning, “I think I’m going to piss myself.”

“Hello to you too, princess,” he laughed.

  “Oh, hi.” She grinned.

“You didn’t reply to my last text,” he said with a mischievous grin on his face, so she pulled out her phone to look at it.

Ten thousand it is. I’ll bring my checkbook just in case. Either way, I get ten minutes of your mouth around my cock, and you get thirty minutes of my mouth on your pussy. I’ll set a timer.

She shivered and couldn’t stop herself from blushing as her brain was flooded with a thousand erotic images of them in bed together.

He laughed, pressed his lips to her ear, and said, “I’m glad I got to see you read it. Now I know what you look like when you read my messages, I’ll send them far more often.”

  “You’r
e a terrible human being, Sebastian Fox,” she said while laughing.

“The worst,” he agreed. “But here we are.”

Lita realized people near them were listening to everything they were saying, and quite a few were subtly watching them. It was disconcerting. Her phone was still open to Sebastian’s text, so she wrote a reply.

  Everyone’s looking at us.

He watched her write it, and gave her a kind smile, then pulled out his phone as it pinged with her message, so he could answer her.

Yeah, they’ll do that. You’ll get used to it. I’m sorry, princess, I don’t know how long this will stay a secret.

Lita chewed her lip, thinking about it. If she kept this baby, at some point, the whole world was going to find out about it.

I’m glad you’re here, anyway. I appreciate you coming.

He laughed as she was writing it, then texted back.

You appreciate me coming? Are you trying to get me hard in your doctor’s office?

As he was typing, she groaned and hit her forehead with the palm of her hand. “You’re an idiot.”

“You’re not very nice to me, princess.” He laughed and sent her another text.

I want to kiss you right now.

As he hit send, their eyes met, and she smiled at him. God, she wanted to kiss him too. She was hyper-aware that even the receptionist was observing them now, though. A few people weren’t even making the pretense of not watching. She decided to be honest with him when she replied.

Me too. Kissing you is one of my favorite things in the world to do.

Sebastian looked very pleased with himself, and the air around them was crackling with sexual tension now. Lita was reminded of the night she met him; she had been utterly aware of his presence in the chair next to hers then too. A couple of people had already been called in. The sooner this appointment was over, the sooner she could get this man into a bed with her.

Eventually, a woman wearing scrubs came out and called, “Lolita Ciccone?”
