“John, release the girl. I want to meet her too.” He releases me.
“Mom, this is Daisy, my fiancée.”
“Nice to meet you, dear. I hope you two are going to be very happy together. Now, show me that ring of yours.”
“Mrs. Young, it’s so nice to meet you.” I feel awkward showing her my ring, but I do what she asks.
“Oh, honey, you gave her your lucky diamond ring. She must be really special.” She tears up a little bit and her husband takes her into his arms.
“That is a special diamond, my dear. You take good care of it. It belonged to Damon’s Grandmother,” John says.
“I will sir, I promise,” I say. I had no idea this was his grandmother’s diamond because he didn’t mention any of this. I look up to him, and he is studying me with a curious expression on his face. He takes my hand and clears his throat.
After everybody shook hands and exchanged pleasantries, we went inside.
We have dinner with his parents, and he was right. They are very nice people who welcomed me into their home with open hearts.
I am finally happy with the man I love.
