BEARly Bitten (Bear Bites Book 2) Page 6

Bryson shredded her pants with his claws and pushed her legs apart. Before Lisa could move, his mouth was on her wet pussy and Lisa lost all ability to speak or think.

She could only feel, and it felt so damn good.

  CHAPTER TWENTY-ONE

Bryson growled at the taste of his mate. She was so fucking sweet, and his bear couldn’t get enough of her honey.

He lapped hungrily at her soft, pink folds, drawing moans of pleasure from her. Lisa dug her claws into the sheets and panted as he fucked her with his tongue.

He swallowed every drop of her sticky nectar and pushed his tongue deeper into her body. When he thumbed her swollen clit, Lisa let out a cry and shuddered uncontrollably.

His mate was so sexy and responsive. A possessive growl rumbled from Bryson as he thrust his tongue in and out of Lisa’s tight, hot pussy, loving the scent and taste of his beautiful mate.

Lisa gasped and quivered as she came suddenly against his mouth. Bryson kissed his way up her trembling body until he reached her lips.

Tasting herself on Bryson’s mouth aroused and inflamed her. With a low snarl, Lisa clawed at Bryson’s shirt and tore his shirt off his shoulders.

Kicking off his pants, Bryson pinned her down on the mattress. The feel of Lisa’s naked body beneath his made Bryson groan with need and hunger. He couldn’t hold back any longer.

Nudging her legs wider apart, Bryson pushed his rock hard cock into her slit and tensed.

“You are so tight, Lisa,” he grated out.

His huge cock stretched her walls fully and Lisa whimpered as he inched slowly into her rippling channel.

  “More,” she panted.

Bryson pushed deeper into his mate, careful not to hurt hr. He didn’t want to cause her any pain. He would only give her the most intense, explosive pleasure.

When he was buried completely inside her, he stilled and looked into Lisa’s glowing eyes. Her wolf peered out at him, and he saw the want and need in her eyes.

Her dainty little claws dug into his biceps and Bryson growled.

He began to move and the intense pleasure was almost unbearable. “You feel so good, Lisa,” he said hoarsely.

His mate was so sexy, so damn beautiful. He was never going to get enough of her.

Lisa cried out with pleasure as he slid in and out of her. Panting, she raised her hips to take him deeper and his thrusts became faster and harder.

Her wolf wanted more, and he would give his mate everything she wanted.

Raking her claws down his back, Lisa undulated beneath him, her skin flushed and feverish.

  “Don’t stop,..” she pleaded.

Bryson nipped at her breasts and rolled her erect nipples between his fingers as he fucked her. He could feel her pussy rippling and clenching around his cock.

Pulling her up to him, Bryson clamped his fangs down on Lisa’s shoulder as he thrust deep into her. Lisa let out a keening cry and her fangs lengthened and her wolf rose.

Clinging on to Bryson, Lisa sank her fangs into his flesh and bit hard into his neck.

With a roar, Bryson released his seed into her hot body. He could feel her pussy squeezing and milking his cock greedily as she orgasmed again and again.

Thoroughly exhausted and sated, they finally collapsed onto the mattress and fought to catch their breaths.

“I love you, Lisa,” Bryson whispered, pulling her into his arms.

“I love you too.” Lisa turned and cupped his face with one hand. She stared at the bite mark on his neck and her eyes glowed with wonder and pride. “I marked you,” she declared at last.

“You did.” Bryson smirked. “I am yours, Lisa. Completely, eternally.”

She smiled and tears glittered in her beautiful green eyes.

“When I left Moonvale and the Arrow pack, I really didn’t know what my next step would be. I had left the only home I had ever known.” She swallowed and closed her eyes. “But that wasn’t my home. It never was.”

Bryson hugged her and said, “You have a home, Lisa. Your home is here. With me.”

She nodded. “Yes. I know. My wolf knows.”

After a pause, Bryson pushed himself up on one elbow and gazed down lovingly at her. “I moved to Shadow Point a few months ago. I wanted to work in peace and quiet in a remote small town, and I was planning to leave by the end of the year. But now...” He looked deep into her eyes and said, “This feels like home.”

“There’s just something very special about Shadow Point,” Lisa agreed. “I like it here.”

Bryson grinned. “Do you want to raise our kids here?”

“Kids?” she sputtered, her eyes widening.

“Yes. I want to build a big, happy family with you,” Bryson said, kissing her fingers. “I would like to stay in Shadow Point and build our future here. Is this what you want too, Lisa?”

Lisa threw her arms around him. “Yes!” As she blinked back happy tears, she told him earnestly, “Having a lovely family and living in a warm, close-knit little town surrounded by wonderful friends and neighbors is a dream come true. I...I’m not dreaming, am I?”

“No, you’re not dreaming. I will make all your dreams come true, Lisa,” Bryson promised, wrapping his arms protectively around her. “I will love and cherish you for as long as we live. And we will live happily ever after!”

  CHAPTER TWENTY-TWO

Lisa finished typing the letter and looked up from her computer. She was in Bryson’s spacious home office, and she had her own desk.

Bryson’s large, messy desk was across the room, and he was bent over a stack of documents, his brows deeply furrowed as he pored over the numbers.

Bryson went to work in his home office after breakfast each morning. When Lisa mentioned to him that she would like to get a job, Bryson had immediately asked if she would like to work for him.

“I do need a secretary,” he’d said in all seriousness. “I was thinking of hiring a part-time secretary to come in and organize my files and papers at least twice a week.”

“I can do that,” Lisa had answered at once. “I can answer calls, type your letters, get your coffee and organize your files. I used to do that in the Arrow pack...”

She trailed off. Philip and Gregg had told their lieutenants that they could order Lisa to do any menial, routine work for them. And the lieutenants had made full use of Lisa, getting a kick out of ordering the Alpha’s daughter around.

Lisa had typed countless letters, organized dusty files and meekly served the lieutenants their coffee and tea while they barked orders at her. She had so desperately wanted to please and be of service to everyone.

“I’ll pay you fairly, and you can quit any time if you find the job unsuitable,” Bryson had gone on to state the terms of her employment. “I would love to work with you, Lisa. But I can also hire someone else if you’re not comfortable...”

“No, I’m not uncomfortable at all. It’s just that...I’ve never been paid for doing what I did in the pack. So...your offer is very generous.”

At her words, Bryson’s face had turned as dark as a thundercloud. “Why weren’t you paid for your work?” he demanded.

When Lisa looked down, he’d held her shoulders and said, “Lisa, as your mate, hearing about what you’ve endured in your pack enrages and grieves me greatly. I can’t believe how unfairly you’ve been treated by your Alpha, Beta and pack mates. You’ve been exploited, manipulated and abused emotionally, psychologically and financially. I won’t let anyone hurt you ever again, Lisa.”

Lisa realized that to fully heal from her emotional wounds, she would have to slowly process all her anger and sadness, and come to terms with her past.

For so long, she had made all sorts of excuses for Philip and Gregg. She tried to convince herself that her father and brother weren’t so bad and that they did care for her in their own way. Some people just weren’t very good at showing love and affection, she’d rationalized.

She had lied to herself. That was the worst part of it.

She had made herself the perfect target by being so submissive, gullible and eager to please.

Bryson was giving her back her confidence bit by bit. He showed her every single day just how capable and strong she was, and he showed how much he loved and appreciated her in all his words and actions.

Philip, Gregg and the rest of the Arrow pack had broken her down over two decades, but in just two weeks, Bryson had built her back up.

She was good at what she did. She was an efficient secretary, and she was meticulous, detailed and observant. She was a very fast learner, and she quickly understood the nature of Bryson’s work. In a few days, she had transformed his chaotic office into a neat, well ordered working space.

Lisa took the letter from the printer and walked over to Bryson’s desk. Bryson looked up when she placed the letter in front of him.

“I’ll send the letter out once you’ve signed it...” she began.

“Lisa.” Bryson’s grave tone made her stop in her tracks.

Bryson took a deep breath and said, “I’ve gone through the accounts of the Arrow pack and I’ve sent all my findings to the private investigator. The evidence is indisputable.”

  Lisa managed to nod once.

Bryson squeezed her hand and said quietly, “The private investigator will turn over the findings to the authorities. Fraud, money laundering, tax evasion are all serious crimes. The Alpha, Beta and senior lieutenants of the Arrow pack will be prosecuted. And...knowing them, they will try to drag you down with them. I have no doubt that they will throw your name to the prosecutors and tell them to come after you...”

Lisa laughed bitterly. “Yes. That is exactly what they will do. I’m under no illusion about how they think and operate. They will stop at nothing to destroy me just to save themselves. I am forever the pack scapegoat even though I’m no longer in the pack.” She lifted her chin and said, “Whatever they throw at me, I’m ready for them.”

Bryson smiled grimly. “So am I.”

Lisa let Bryson pull her into his arms and she inhaled the wonderful, comforting scent of her mate.

  She wasn’t alone now.

She had her mate, and she knew that with Bryson by her side, she would be able to overcome anything.

  CHAPTER TWENTY-THREE

Bryson sat up in bed and flicked his eyes to the window. He glanced at Lisa, who was sleeping soundly beside him and pulled the covers up over her shoulders.

Silently, he got out of bed and went to the window.

He had heard a sound outside, and his bear had nudged him awake instantly.

  Wolves!

Bryson parted the curtains a fraction of an inch and observed the street from his bedroom window.

His bear was right. There were wolves prowling in front of his house.

He saw more gray wolves coming down the street. Swiftly, the wolves surrounded his house and he saw two huge wolves shift into human form.

Bryson heard a soft step behind him and turned around. Lisa had slipped out of bed and was coming up to the window. Peering out the window, she pointed at the two tall men in front of their house and gasped. “That’s Gregg, and...Dad,” she whispered. “The whole pack is here.”

Philip and Gregg Ayers were looking up at the house, and Bryson’s looked directly into Philip’s cold, hard eyes.

“He knows I’m here,” Lisa said, hugging herself tightly.

“He can’t do anything to you. This is my house,” Bryson said, going to the door. “Stay here, Lisa. I...”

  “No. I’m coming with you.”

Bryson stared at his mate and saw the steely determination and anger in her eyes. She wanted to face her father and brother, and confront the entire pack. She had enabled and protected them with her silence and meekness, and she refused to hide in the shadows and stay silent any longer.

Bryson held out his hand to her. “Okay. Stay with me,” he said.

  “Always,” Lisa replied.

Together, they walked out of the house and stood on the front steps.

Bryson estimated that there were at least thirty wolves behind Philip and Gregg. The Alpha and Beta of the Arrow pack were the only ones who had shifted to human form. The rest of the pack were in battle mode. Bryson knew that almost all shifters were more lethal and deadly in their animal forms.

Gregg stepped forward and spat when he saw Lisa. “Bitch!”

In a flash, Bryson leaped from the porch and slammed Gregg into the ground. His claws sliced out and he pushed his claws into Gregg’s shoulder.

“If you disrespect my mate one more time, you will pay with your life,” Bryson said in a deceptively calm and reasonable voice. “Consider this a fair warning.”

“Lisa is part of the Arrow pack and I’m her Beta!” Gregg hissed, struggling to free himself from Bryson’s claws. “She has to return to the pack.”

“She doesn’t have to do anything,” Bryson snapped. “Lisa is her own person. She is not your underling or your slave. You are not her Beta, Gregg. A Beta protects and takes care of the members of his pack. Did you protect Lisa? Or did you scheme to hurt and destroy her?”

“What are you talking about?” Gregg yelled. “Why would I destroy her? I don’t know what she’s been telling you. Lisa has always been overly sensitive and a little sick in the head. Ask any of the pack members. She’s always been weird and petty. But we put up with her. You have no idea how much I’ve done for her...”

Bryson slashed his claws across Gregg’s face and snarled, “You’re a piece of shit.”

The lights came on in the neighboring houses on the street. Bryson turned to see his neighbor, Rocco Jones, come running out of his house.

Rocco’s eyes widened when he saw the wolves around Bryson’s house.

“Stay indoors, Emma. Keep Caden away from the window!” Rocco shouted to his mate.

Rocco’s human mate, Emma, swiftly pulled a wide-eyed, blond little boy wearing Spider-Man pajamas into the house and slammed the door.

But Rocco didn’t go back to his house. He stood on the sidewalk and his eyes flicked to Bryson and Lisa. He gave Bryson a curt nod to let him know that he was here to help him.

More shouts and running footsteps could be heard. Axel and Tyrell, the two brothers who lived in the last two houses on the street, rushed out of their houses and skidded to a stop when they saw the wolves.

“What in the world is going on?” Axel asked, his eyes bugging. His dark hair was sticking out in all directions.

His brother, Tyrell was barefoot and shirtless, wearing only his pajama pants. But his eyes were sharp and alert.

“Bryson! You okay?” Tyrell called out.

Bryson nodded to his neighbors. His neighbors were all bear shifters, with extraordinary hearing and sense of smell. Rocco, Axel and Tyrell had no doubt scented the wolves and the threat and danger on their street.

“Sorry to wake you guys,” he deadpanned.

“You didn’t wake us up, Bryson. Those wolves did.” Tyrell rubbed his nose and jerked his chin at the Arrow wolves.

“Who are they?” Axel frowned and squinted at the gray wolves. “I don’t recognize any of these wolves. I don’t think I’ve met them before.”

“Of course you haven’t met them. They’re not from Shadow Point,” Tyrell answered, giving his brother a light slap upside the head.

“The Arrow pack came all the way from Moonvale,” Bryson said tightly, keeping his eyes on Philip while holding Gregg down.

“So why are they here?” Axel asked.

Bryson snarled. “That is a very good question.”

  CHAPTER TWENTY-FOUR

Lisa saw Bryson’s neighbors shoot her quizzical, concerned glances. They knew she was a wolf shifter, so they would have rightly guessed that these gray wolves had come for her.

Once Bryson’s three neighbors arrived on the scene, Philip immediately pasted a charming smile on his face and hunched his shoulders to make himself look like a harmless, humble old man.

Philip turned around and smiled ingratiatingly at Rocco, Axel and Tyrell.

“Good evening, gentlemen. Please allow me to introduce myself. I’m Philip Ayers, the Alpha of the Arrow pack,” he said. “Please do not be alarmed by our presence in your town. We’re simply here to retrieve a runaway member of our pack. We’re not here to create any trouble. This is an internal affair. Pack business.”

He was telling them to stay out of this. Outsiders should not meddle in another pack’s business.

“Please return to your homes, gentlemen,” Philip finished. His eyes flashed even as he kept the smile on his face.

Rocco, Axel and Tyrell definitely heard the menace and threat in Philip’s voice but they remained unfazed. The three men simply shrugged and stood where they were. Rocco glanced at Lisa and gave her an almost imperceptible nod. They were here to support her and Bryson, and they weren’t leaving.

The show of unity by their neighbors gave Lisa the strength and courage to speak up. “I didn’t run away. I left.” She stepped forward. “I left the Arrow pack. And I’m never going back.”

Bryson released Gregg with a growl and went to Lisa’s side. He knew how much she needed his support at this time. It wasn’t easy for her to face her whole pack and see the disdain and condemnation in their eyes.

Gregg staggered up and glared at Lisa. “You’re a traitor, Lisa. You ran away and slept with the enemy. You just want to save your own skin and watch the rest of the pack go down. You betrayed us all!”

Lisa looked impassively at Gregg and slid her gaze over to Philip.

“Dad,” she said very softly and sadly. It was the last time she would call him ‘Dad’. “Do you have anything to say to me?”

She held her breath as she waited for his answer.

Philip sighed dramatically. “You’re my daughter, Lisa, but you have to face the consequences of your actions. You committed fraud, Lisa. And you tried to run away. As the Alpha of the pack, I have to act fairly and bring you to justice.”
