Dominica, finding peace, went back to bed. She slept comfortably, knowing what had to be done and what she was going to do.
Chapter Nineteen
Demetri sat at the mini bar sipping Cognac. He knew Li'l Will was on his way. It didn’t bother him much because Italy was his terrain. Something Li’l Will didn’t know anything about.
He laughed just thinking about his enemy’s foolish moves. It was like a game of chess to Demetri. He didn't consider himself any piece on the board. He saw himself as the hands moving both sides to his advantage.
“Checkmate.” He downed the glass of Cognac.

Dink cooled it up at Teddy's crib, highly pissed. He knew his brother wasn't playing when he had said he was cutting him out of work, but he didn't think he would go as far as to not sell him any work. He banged on the front door. “Say, Teddy, I know your ass home! Answer the fucking door!” Dink yelled and continued banging.
Teddy opened the door, but Dink wasn’t expecting what he did afterwards. He caught Dink square on the left jaw with a hard right cross, causing him to stumble backwards.
“What the fuck?” Dink said, grabbing his jaw.
Teddy had no words for him. He stood on the porch, mugging Dink for a few seconds. He was debating whether or not to go all out on his brother.
“Fam, you ain’t even worth it,” Teddy said before walking back in his house and slamming the door shut, leaving his brother standing speechless.
“Who was that at the front door?” Teddy’s wife asked him when he walked back in the den and sat down.
“Nobody important,” he replied while massaging his right hand. Family just ain’t family anymore. Fuck this mayor shit. I gotta get back to what I know, Teddy thought to himself. He had made up his mind to announce his resignation soon.
Dink realized Teddy wasn’t playing around. He jumped back in his car and sped away. He rode through the South Side, contemplating his next move. Since the nigga ain’t fucking with my campaign, I’ll take what I want, he thought to himself as he pulled up on a couple of runners who he knew worked for his brother. He cocked the 9mm and jumped out.
“Assume the position. Y’all niggas know what it is,” Dink said calmly.
The hustlers started laughing. “Fam, what the fuck? Dink, don’t come around here playing like that!” one of the runners said.
Dink shot him in the left leg, causing him to scream. “Ah shit! Alright, my nigga!”
“Nigga, y’all still think a nigga playing? This Dink, nigga! I don’t play! Now, get naked!” Dink demanded.
They came off the few sacks they had left and the money. Keeping an eye on them and a steady aim, Dink collected the goods. Still feeling the pain in his left jaw, he shot both men in the head. He hopped back in his ride and drove off, bobbing his head and bouncing up and down in the seat listening to Spice 1 and 2Pac “Jealous Got Me Strapped”.

Renika and her crew were lounging around at Danika's spot. They were drinking cranberry vodka and talking trash when the automatic assault rifle gunshots started. Bullets shattered the windows, burying themselves in whatever they made contact with inside of the house. Due to the fact that everyone in Renika’s crew were highly trained, they had sense enough to lay down flat on the floor.
“What the hell is going on?” Renika yelled angrily. Her crew never had street beef, so it was odd that someone was shooting up one of their spots. “A bitch must got a death wish fucking with The Squad!”
Renika crawled on her stomach over to the nearest window and eased up on her knees to peep out of the window. Seeing one of the gunmen holding the SKS assault rifle, she ducked back down. “Amara, pass me a mirror! Hurry up!” Renika said.
Amara grabbed her purse, barely avoiding being hit by one of the bullets whizzing through the house at a steady pace. She tossed Renika the mirror.
“I’m gonna show these bitches who’s boss around here!” Renika yelled as she cocked the .45 caliber handgun and checked the safety. She held the mirror at an angle where she could see the gunman without having to peer out of the window herself. She aimed a little to the left because she knew the mirror’s image would be kind of off and, due to the fact she wasn’t in a comfortable position, she knew the recoil would pull the aim perfectly.
Renika took a deep breath and squeezed the trigger twice. Through the mirror, she watched the body drop. The other gunmen, seeing one of their men fall, let off another round and ran.
“Don’t run now!” Renika yelled furiously, but to no avail. The shooters were gone. Renika and her crew heard the tires gripping the asphalt as they sped away.
“Who got the nuts to fuck with us?” asked Danika.
“Let’s find out,” Amara said and walked outside.
It was a good thing that Danika lived in a secluded area, where her nearest neighbor was over a mile away. They dragged the dead man’s body into the house and searched him. Renika found a cell phone in the left boot.
“What do we have here?” Renika said, holding the Verizon phone up. She scrolled through the recent phone calls list. There was only one called listed, and she called the number.
The phone rang until the voicemail came on, saying, “You have reached the voice mail box of Demetri Citural. Sorry, but the voice mailbox is full. Please hang up and try your call again later. Goodbye.”
“Bingo,” Renika said with a smile on her face. “Looks like we have ourselves some work. Somebody wanna shed blood for blood.” She used her phone to call Demetri, and he answered immediately.
“Renika James, what a pleasant surprise.”
“Yes, it is. How nice of you to send those friendly people over to check on us,” she replied sarcastically.
“Nothing too personal, Renika. It’s strictly business. I’m tying up loose ends these days.”
Renika laughed. “Demetri. Demetri. I got more blood on my hands than I care to think about. Your blood will be just like your brother’s. Long forgotten before the explosion happened.”
Renika was prepared for war however, whenever, and wherever person wanted to bring it. She had already been given an optional contract for $2,000,000 to off Demetri. “Fuck the money. This hit is on me,” she texted the employer, who responded back immediately with a text saying, Thank you.
