Besides, if the hoi polloi found out the truth about E.T., it would be a matter of seconds (thanks to the World Wide Web) before academics smarter than I, pointed out that, in addition to Time Travel Technology, the E.T.s also have an energy source that could replace oil and/or nuclear power, thus dismantling the economic power structure that now controls the world. ( Now, that makes my head spin.)
By the way, I dread hearing oil (petroleum) referred to as “fossil fuel”, as though all of it came from rotting dinosaur carcasses. If that were the case, how could oil have been discovered at a depth of 43,000 feet? It seems to me oils is just another natural substance produced by the earth (perhaps Mother Earth’s sinovial fluid).
And just think of all the citizens of the world rising up and demanding access to this new energy source, to say nothing of the demands for access to Time Travel Technology in order to go back in time and prevent the rise of Hitler, and the Holocaust, prevent the untimely deaths of JFK and Princess Di, prevent the destruction of the Library of Alexandria---the list goes on ad infinitum! (Pun intended.)
So, we see---Time Travel would be the most effective weapon (for good or ill) ever to exist--the Ultimate Weapon---virtually absolute power to change the Present by manipulating the Past. (Now if that doesn’t sound like Pandora’s Box, I don’t know what does.)
And since we’re talking about Time, let me thank each of you for taking the time out of your busy lives, replete with thousands of attractive diversions, to read my (perhaps, not so humble-) ravings.
I’m sure most of you have new thoughts to chew on, a lot of them discomforting, but as for me, I think it’s time to re-invigorate my prayer life, and hope for the best!
