Themba straightened his shoulders and raised his chin. “The decision to come back will be up to Payton. She’s not used to any of this, and I don’t want to overwhelm her.” Themba turned toward Payton. “Do you need to take some time to think about this? We can take all the time you need.”

Really? He had to ask if she wanted to live in a small house or a palace? Her only concern would be how to muffle the sounds of their lovemaking. With just the two of them in the house, there was no need to bite the pillows. She yelled out at will.

“W-will we have a neighbor in the room next to ours?”

“We have the entire East wing. There won’t be any neighbors that could possibly hear anything coming from our suites.” He caught on quickly to her concern.

She furrowed her brow in confusion. “East wing?”

He gave her a loving smile and turned her to face the window again. He pointed to the building off to the right that looked as though it spanned a football field. “That’s the East wing.”

Payton’s mouth dropped open. “That’s where we’ll live?”

“It’s up to you, my Nkosazana.”

She turned to him and wrapped her arms around his neck. “What does nkosazana mean?”

  “It means princess.”

She smiled. “The translator picked that word up perfectly. I just wanted to hear you say it. I want you to be happy, Themba. Of course, we can live here with your family.”

He pulled her tighter and squeezed her to him. “My nkosazana, you are my family. I would follow you to the ends of the universe.”
